For obvious reasons the quality of faculty in the "premier institutes" in India cannot be critiqued openly... MBA aspirants would do well to keep in mind that the difference in the quality of Faculty between India vs top US B-Schools is HUGE !!

    As you have discussed about the salaries post MBA in the top US B-Schools and the Schools also post their average or mean salaries in their brochures in about the same range, however, there's one ambiguity here which none of the the B-Schools clarify. The salary which is posted by the schools, is this before or after tax deduction. It's very crucial to know, since taxes in the US are usually higher.

    • @bobbypanda6685
      @bobbypanda6685 Pƙed 2 lety +11

      In U.S.A., the best business schools have less than 0.5% engineers in a class. Engineers typically are considered as bad management professionals. I am an engineer too guys, so no offense. Unless you have special management ability, they avoid engineers.
      Then again that is not the case in all the coasts in U.S.A. U.S. west coast is more technical and therefore Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA, etc would have a class with bigger % of engineers than the other coasts and they typically follow Indian IIM kind of pattern like having candidates with much less work experience.
      If I were you, I would skip West coast of U.S.A. from my application process. Then again have at least 5 yrs work experience. Please relocate to Western world or middle east and get few years experience in the country before going for an MBA in U.S.A. Never go from India straight to a business school in U.S.A. You will regret your entire life having done that. Essentially what I am saying is there is no shortcut to success.

    Hello Sir, I have a question about MBA. I am an Engg with about 20Yr experience and in technical domain. Was wondering if I should do MBA, if so.. how does MBA help one ? ..what is it that we gain ?
    Example, without studying in Engg school, one may not learn on concept of Solid state device, RF and designing an electronic device be it a modem ..or some mechanical device, or building a building. Something we learn in 4 years, that may not be possible to learn on the job with no Engg degree.
    What is that we get in MBA school ? ..can you please elaborate.

Please check the fees charged by the public unis there who provide MBA or MBA equivalent programs and the kind of opportunities students get after finishing education. An MBA is a waste of money. Learn what you need to master on the net. Lots of free courses, seminars. Just search. The way forward is get precisely what you need rather than general stuff. Unless you are from those cultures that still values degrees and titles regardless, and just to Bragg, and gloat.
    MBA is, a, waste.

      Spending money on learning MBA could be considered a waste of money..But the certificate that you get at the end of it is the most valuable possession you can have that can get you the job at a top MNC...Even people who do family business or so, do an MBA at a Ivey league institution just for the sake of it , so that it increases their value..Also the number of contacts/connections that you get might help you build a new network/team that can help boost your career.. But all this said and done, you need luck factor that would help you achieve your goals.. without luck , it is just a certificate that can lie along with your old newspapers :)

    Those who pay and come to study in USA are scions of very rich parents. Most of them have inherited properties worth several crores in prime locations in big cities and the value of such properties in India's growth has multiplied to several crores. So, they just spend a few crores for their children's education in USA.

They may support their citizen black Hispanic or native Americans. Most people in the USA from middle class take loans to attend these programs. The rich and industrial houses obviously have legacy entry into these programs and need not fulfill stringent entry requirements. It is true that Indians who attend these schools paying $90k per annum have substantial wealth from agricultural lands real estate etc. even upper Middle class cannot afford to send their kids there merely as a tax paying employee of public or private sector.
