What is your favorite agua fresca/ fresh drink?
Ingredients
2 cups long-grain rice (rinse once before soaking)
6 cups of water
2 cinnamon sticks
5 cloves
12oz can of evaporated milk
14oz can of condensed milk
2 Tbsp of vanilla
1/4 of a cup of sugar
Pinch of salt
Tip❣️
If you like a thinner-tasting Horchata add an additional 2 cups of water
If you’re in a rush soak in water for around 30 minutes and follow the steps shown in the video
(Not my favorite, but it works)
Soaking overnight or for a minimum of 8 hours, Your horchata is creamy and doesn’t lack the authentic flavors we love and look forward to from horchata.

Hello, I’m not sure if this is what you need but I googled it for you and it says you may need more sugar or not to blend all the rice… only some or none if the chalky taste is too much for you 😊
use cheese cloth to strain better

Do you give the rice a wash first? How long will it last stored in the fridge?
Yes, I rinse before! I like to soak overnight, but 8hrs in the fridge will work just fine 🫶🏽

@@Viewsontheroad Thank you! The kitty on my profile picture was Mr Tiger. He passed away at 11 1/2 years old unfortunately of kidney failure in 2017. I adopted two more cats in 2018 which I love dearly but Mr Tiger will always remain as my profile picture in memory of him.

When I make horchata, I like to just soak it all in the blender pitcher overnight and then blend it up either in the morning before I leave for work, or shortly after I get home. It just saves time on dishes I think.
Yes!!! I had use for by blender to prepare some salsas. Otherwise when I’m not filming I add everything to the blender & refrigerate 🫶🏽

I still prefer the original from Spain with Tiger Nuts not rice but if you add a little amylase you get a great rice horchata without adding sugar. (that is the secret of the nordic oat milk).
