I rooted for Thailand when Philippines did not make it to Top 10. She was one of my tops in prelims too. She should have been in Top 5. Mexico was in my top list too. Top 5 was ok but the ranking was really messed up. I was also going for Peru and India.
Miss Peru being a victim of abuse, she won my heart because how far she has come. She did a great job! Making the top 5 is a force to be wrecked with. Mexico did amazingly during preliminaries and was flawless in the main event. Congratulations to all these beautiful women and Mexico you will be representing your country an all the Beauty Queens of Miss Universe.

The pauses were not nerves but she was quick and cautious in translating from her own self. She was even more regal and full of wisdom, when she answered the second question.
Miss Universe is mostly based on the interview before the finally. You guys clearly did not follow Mexico and that is why you are surprised. She was first runner up im Miss World and she was in almost all the top predictions.

I didn't understand why Mexico won at first but when you keep rewatching the entire thing you will notice that she was always poised. Her face screamed confidence all throughout and she did it effortlessly. Nothing special, just consistency. For the swimsuit competition, you just really have to have fun and be energetic but not too much that it comes off as reckless or exaggerated. As for evening gown, don't get distracted by the dress itself. It's how the woman carries herself. Elegant, sophisticated, queenly. Lastly, being the best at Q&A doesn't automatically mean you're the winner. The judges take into account everything from the very beginning. Both of Mexico's answers were just okay, nothing special either but again, she was poised while answering it. The rest of them answered with passion especially Peru, but I think it was her body moving too much while speaking that made her end up as 2nd RU. In the end, Mexico definitely didn't give as much of a wow factor but she really was consistent. She was subtle and natural.

Miss Mexico, well deserved win, congrats to her and her country. Weeks before the pageant she among others was at the top of many missosologists's leaderboards so to me it was no surprise she won.
1. I was shocked that South Africa, Canada, Nepal, and Romania did not make Top 21. 2. I still can't believe Puerto Rico and Thailand did not make Top 5. Puerto Rico would've killed the Q&A portion! 3. Based on the Q&A portion, Peru or Brazil should have won, but Mexico had a solid overall performance.

Miss Brazil is the real miss universe, because beyond being beautiful, she speaks Spanish, English, Chinese and of course Portuguese. His performance was fantastic.
The closed door interview is 60% of the scoring for top 21 so it should not affect the result for top 10, 5 and winner Swimsuit is the scoring for top 10 Gown is for top 5 And QandA and Final Speech is for the placements of Top 5 Just like all of existing pageants, whenever the top 5 was confirmed, their scores will be narrowed back to Zero and the scoring will be based on either 100% QandA or a division between QandA+Beauty

Unfortunately people think that results are based on just one night. They are judged since day one. They have national custom competition, private interview with judges (to know more about the candidates) Preliminary competition and final night. Andre Meza (Mexico) won Second place in Miss Word in 2017 . She is very prepared and has lots of experience. Judges said they won’t define the winner just based in 30 seconds answer. That’s why they now their backgrounds , community service, etc. Brazil also was placed top 10 in Miss word. Please don’t spread hate and learn the way this pageant works.

Andrea Meza is a lovely person, cute and close with her fans and all people who work with her, She doesn´t deserve the nasty opinions that im reading in social networks because she always was friendly with the fans and the candidates, and the same candidates like Peru, PR or Brazil are glad with the results. The same Miss Perú said in a interview that Andrea was the only who helped her with her evening gown and hair when top 10 was announced and many other contestants had the same opinion of her: friendly and willing to help everyone. Her attitudes were like Vanessa Ponce in Miss World and that is the reason of her victory. Totally Deserved Andrea, you worked this crown since day 1 and don´t let that malicious comments affect you.
Yes they’re all gorgeous and yes they all answered good to their questions but I think miss universe didint chosse Peru because she fits in as white , and she lives in the US if I’m not wrong , she hasn’t even been living in Peru , they chosse someone authentic that knows about their roots more !

The closed door interview is 60% of the scoring for top 21 so it should not affect the result for top 10, 5 and winner
Swimsuit is the scoring for top 10
Gown is for top 5
And QandA and Final Speech is for the placements of Top 5
Just like all of existing pageants, whenever the top 5 was confirmed, their scores will be narrowed back to Zero and the scoring will be based on either 100% QandA or a division between QandA+Beauty

Unfortunately people think that results are based on just one night. They are judged since day one. They have national custom competition, private interview with judges (to know more about the candidates) Preliminary competition and final night.
Andre Meza (Mexico) won Second place in Miss Word in 2017 . She is very prepared and has lots of experience. Judges said they won’t define the winner just based in 30 seconds answer. That’s why they now their backgrounds , community service, etc.
Brazil also was placed top 10 in Miss word.
Please don’t spread hate and learn the way this pageant works.

Andrea Meza was my prediction winner and I’m glad she actually won.
Andrea Meza is a lovely person, cute and close with her fans and all people who work with her, She doesn´t deserve the nasty opinions that im reading in social networks because she always was friendly with the fans and the candidates, and the same candidates like Peru, PR or Brazil are glad with the results. The same Miss Perú said in a interview that Andrea was the only who helped her with her evening gown and hair when top 10 was announced and many other contestants had the same opinion of her: friendly and willing to help everyone. Her attitudes were like Vanessa Ponce in Miss World and that is the reason of her victory. Totally Deserved Andrea, you worked this crown since day 1 and don´t let that malicious comments affect you.

Yes they’re all gorgeous and yes they all answered good to their questions but I think miss universe didint chosse Peru because she fits in as white , and she lives in the US if I’m not wrong , she hasn’t even been living in Peru , they chosse someone authentic that knows about their roots more !
