    I don't think the problem is the Recaro seats, I think the problem is that guy being twice the size he should be.

      +ktkof04 Recaro makes sport seats with adjustable bolsters...

    • @ktkof04
      @ktkof04 Před 8 lety +2

      +Martin Espinoza I don't think adjustability is the problem for morbidly obese guy. I think his main problem is being morbidly obese. Food and alcohol are about the only universally accepted addictions in this country, but you don't see people complaining the toilet isn't big enough for them to make it in when they're wasted drunk. Morbidly obese man should accept that due to his mental illness, he's not going to fit into some seats. Airline seats, Recaro sports seats built for normal human beings, and maybe some poorly engineered plastic lawn chairs to name a few. They all should be avoided by morbidly obese man. In the mean time, maybe morbidly obese man should try to focus on living past his 50's, because very few of my parent's friends who were morbidly obese made it far into the Social Security Level.

      ktkof04 so only thin people should have good cars? Good thing you're perfect eh?

    • @ktkof04
      @ktkof04 Před 8 lety +4

      +Martin Espinoza It has nothing to do with being perfect. It has to do with the guy faulting a perfectly fine product for not accommodating his illness. Like I said, if I were an alcoholic I wouldn't expect products to adapt to me while I'm drunk. This guy shouldn't expect products to adapt to him while he has his addiction and is morbidly obese.

    • @hyperlogos
      @hyperlogos Před 8 lety

      ktkof04 Oddly, the other two products accommodated him just fine, so clearly it's not impossible.

The camaro was the only car that tested around same as what you see elsewhere. I would like a redo of the challenger and mustang drag times. I know the challenger is neck and neck with the Camaro with about a 12.3-12.4 sec time and the mustang I would expect closer to a 12.6 sec.

    With the Camaro on the new lightweight Alpha chassis, makes it more nimble than the others. Though the Challenger had the most power, it also had more bulk. I expected the Muatang to be in the middle anyway, with it having a first ever IRS. Still needs chassis tuning, from what I see. Love all three.

    @goatmonkey2112 Před 8 lety +17

    I can understand why they picked the Camaro, it is obviously the best performer in every category. I just don't like them though. It has the worst styling, the worst interior, worst headroom, smallest trunk, and most clausterphibic interior with terrible outward visibility. It's a great engine and chassis looking for finishing details that would make it a much better all around car if they fixed them. The ZL1 and Z28 versions won't fix those things, just improve on what is already good.

    I know this is late, just picked up a 2017 Challenger SRT. As a former 2013 & 2018 Camaro owner it became a sportscar. The downsizing from 2010-2015 was a mistake. I also had a 2008 Mustang that also downsized a bit to sportscar size. The Challenger is a proper muscle car and has stayed the course from 2008 to 2023 in proper HP and looks. Challenger should have won, since it was the only muscle car.

      Its not the correct vehicle, they did this test right, R/T scatpack, SS, and GT, the "basic trim" muscle cars. Gt350 would be compared with a SRT 392 and a SS 1LE, and then a gt500 would be compared to a ZL1 and a SRT hellcat

  • @applebitefool
    @applebitefool Před 8 lety +1

    First thing to do when you get a challenger is to replace the skinny 245 tires in the back for at least 275. My stock e36 M3 has 245s and with its tiny 240bhp I still get some wheel spin when I launch so there's no way that much rubber can handle 500 bhp. With that much power it should be a 12s flat car.

    • @BEBNC1
      @BEBNC1 Před 8 lety

      +Shawn Crowe The SS is a 12 flat car all day long...in the hands of a good driver. Sorry, but the new GT is not 'nipping' on the heels of the SS. It is undeniably much faster. That's not to say that the Mustang isn't fast...because it most certainly is. And it's not faster because it's 'newer'. The platform is actually older than the S550 Mustang platform...has been used for almost 3yrs now by Cadillac. The LT1 is 3yrs old...and Ford knew the LT1 was going into the new Camaro. Just have to give credit where it's due. Just like the 2014 Mustang was quicker than a 2014 Camaro in the straights. I'm sure Ford will counter punch...and then GM will do the same. This has gone on for a long time now.

      Motorweek is weak. Being on television a long time doesn't make you a good judge of performance, just means you know how to market advertising and say what you're paid to say. That Challenger is just as fast as the camaro when tested by reputable driving enthusiasts. ..and being too fat to fit a seat is not a performance metric Ford is responsible for.

    Anyone who has a camaro knows what I'm about to say. Sit to low,blind spots everywhere. Still rides somewhat rough but ohhh love the power. The v6 is an awesome v8 like power plant but they seem to use oil. You won't get 5k on a change. Google it, it's a common problem.

      @Sinn0100 Před 2 lety

      No one should be getting 5K on a change. If you want your car to hold together you better do it at 3K. Both my 2012 SS Camaro and 2017 Challenger get theirs done like clockwork at 3K miles no exceptions.

    As a proud Challenger Scat Pack owner Mopars will always rule, I can care less about these bullshit comparisons, whenever I take my car to car meets more people are always standing by my car and taking pictures of it! Even when the lot is full of Camaros, mustangs and vettes simply because people see them all the time! Mopars are in a class by themselves.

      And don't you forget, that was the Mustang that started the Mussel Car / Pony Car movement. And the Dodge Ram has outsold the F150 and the GM trucks how many time? Bye Boy!

      Camaro is just flat out the better performance car, however the mustang is the better casual car with the interior and window visability, chevrolet shot themselves in the foot making the windows so small on the camaro because it scares away potential customers, but as a practical car the challenger is just way better than the other 2, but the more casual consumer/agressive racer dont want deal with larger vehicles like that.

  • @QuestoDomini
    @QuestoDomini Před 8 lety +1

    My take from trying each (cars of friends), is that if you ARE NOT basing everything on a car that can win times on track or drag strips, the Dodge is my choice just for the Muscle Car experience, every day comfort a drivability. If it wasn't for the really bad visibility (not mentioned) on the Chevrolet, IT would be my choice,... but it's not, and I so wanted it to be (car shopping) because of all the aforementioned video testament and accolades. I will say, the one thing about the Dodge, it feels roomier than the Chevy and more so than the Dodge. Just my take .... still milling over possibilities.

    To me, how it looks is among the most important aspects, so first place is the Mustang (in black with a GT350R-like spoiler added), then the Challenger, and waaaay below those is the Camaro. What happened to you, Camaro? You stopped being cool in 1982.

  • @dmilesls
    @dmilesls Před 8 lety

    i preface this with the fact i am a 2016 mustang gt owner, so take my comments with a grain of salt if you will.
    these tests are not valid in the real world if you care about performance and you are spending your own money.
    The prices they gave for the mustang are with a ton of luxury options, which most of them are not for performance.
    for performance options only, the prices are quite different. the challenger scat pack with no other options is 44700. Camaro SS with only performance options 43000, and the mustang is 35790 with only performance options. that is quite a big difference if its your money. also, the horrible recaro seat they complained about, is an option that added to that high price tag, its not standard and the standard seats are nice.
    sure, if you are taking performance only, the camaro would be the best, but dollar for dollar if you are looking to spend your own money, the 10k price difference with the mustang is hard to justify in my eyes and wallet
    one last comment, regardless of which you choose, they are all awesome, and it is a great time for performance cars right now.

      @BEBNC1 Před 8 lety

      +fordman2288 That DOHC 5.0 is doing just fine. Have you seen a SOHC 6.2.....it's freaking huge. The heads are massive. I don't even think Ford has a SOHC V8 in it's lineup anymore...maybe the old modular found in work vans. What Ford lacks in displacement they make up for with valve modulation and high flowing heads. This is the trade off with OHV vs. OHC. All three of these engines are absolutely excellent.

    I hate the 2015-2017 Dodge Challengers. They lack the retro muscle car look from the 60's and 70's the 2008-2014 all look the best. Only if Dodge would have put the 3.6 liter pentastar V6 in the 09-10 that would be great . Plan on having me one someday . All models all look the same , but I'll probably go with a used 2001-2014 V8 Challenger.

      *****
      The platform will remain the same. Ford has stated this. The possible updates that have been mentioned are powertrain (GM-Ford co-developed 10spd that is based on the GM 8L90E 8spd)...which will actually be found in both the Mustang and Camaro. Also a 'facelift' refresh has been mentioned. Possible a slight boost in power (as you said). From what I've heard, Ford plans to leave the S550 platform the same until at least 2020. So, I would not expect any weight loss for a good while. Both GM and Ford have talked about aluminum and CF body paneling...but worried about pricing themselves out of the market by doing so. You might get a power bump next year...but at the moment, it'll need an additional 40-50hp to hang with the Camaro. Credit where it's due....the Alpha platform is just flat-out better than the S550 platform.
