I remember picking up a vehicle in the mountains, and when I brought it back home, it had the same problem. I brought it from a climate and elevation difference and I had a redo the timing on it something with the climate and elevation messes with vehicles..
HeavyDSparks post link for Symphony of Destruction
There is a badass World War II ship sitting down here at the dock in Seattle that's been refurbished and it still has all of its engines and generators and desalination plants I believe it's for sale
They say you can stay out on the water for years in this boat
Looking for someone to help make an off road wheelchair for my 24 yr old son who has CP. If anyone has any leads it's appreciated. TY!
Alright nice
I'll have you know that driving through those mountain passes in the middle of the night with a tornado of below freezing air coming though my dang turret sun roof opening while in Lake Powell attire was the coldest I have ever been in my life😂😂 sure kept me awake though!!
It builds character lol
Yeah but when I jumped in the cab when we stopped for fuel and felt how hot you had the heater blowing I immediately stopped feeling bad for you.
@@HeavyDSparks serves him right for wearing those steel toe capped flip flops.
Would have loved to have seen that footage Hunter! LOL glad you made it out alive! Hardest working dude on the team. Love seeing you and Alan work together. Cheers!
LMAO! chat between Hunter Goodrich and Heavy D is priceless!
I'm so glad Alan is hanging out with the crew now. Such a cool and genuinely organic interaction. Randomly seeing his compound in the mountain and then having him reach out, then go and see it, and then having him come and provide awesome skills is such a wild story. It's like a book or a movie script.

Seals never operated that boat, Riverines did. We had those RPB’s for putting our RST on the beach. those Yanmar 6LY’s had 440HP each. Also they had ZF marine gear and twin Hamilton jets. I served as a riverine from 2009-2012.
Just missed you i was in from 2012 to 2014 rivron4
So those are the only people that ever operated those boats huh?
04 to 15
SWCCs Operated them, Team guys rode them. That specific boat, #16 was out of Pensacola and VA Beach. Nice ride.
SWCC never operated these boats.
@@mongo5392 never? SOCOM pretty much gets whatever it needs- maybe it was a one-off mission, but these boats have some unique characteristics. cant imagine SWCC not using them. but- sure, possible
For those wondering, as I don't recall it being mentioned, The boat is called a "SURC" or Small Unit Riverine Craft, used primarily by US marine NECC and Navy Riverine Squads, got to ride in a few during my days in Iraq, loads of fun with the right person at the helm .... Great Vid!
He mentioned it briefly but didnt really explain it thank you for explaining
SURCs were the older version, this is a Riverine Patrol Boat or RPB for short. I was in Riverine Squadron 2 for the first 5 years they were around and actually was a coxswain and mechanic that whole time too. All the info he puts out is pretty on point except for how he pronounces Riverine. It came from combining River and Marine, Riverine.
@@Otter5000 he mentioned it was a SURC
@@forsakenghost7054 no he didn’t he said what he just corrected him an said smh
He knows nothiing except what youtube says, you are exactly correct, I did make it through 13 weeks of BUDS training blew my knee out, never used any of these large vessels for anything, in our training and throughout my USN career never saw a Seal unit using them, perhaps for limited use, not a staple.
Alan is definitely the team addition that you didn't know you needed.. starting to really love that alan character. Lol

dont you let matt near that beautiful machine ,he has blown up enough shit already
Those plates can take a beating, just to put the under armor on you gotta use a hydraulic lift and bolt it up onto the truck
They probably just scrapped it all :(. They go threw to much stuff to keep everything that’s cool. Not their fault it’s just how it is.
That reverse bucket you were talking about, allows the engines to stay in drive while the boat is moving in reverse.. that way there's no need to physically shift the gears into reverse, you just flip a switch and drop the bucket... saves transmissions/engines and also works incredibly well.
jets have no other way to go astern, you dont reverse by transmisshion shift.
@@MrBugsier5 yeah it's because that reason that the reverse bucket is a thing.. I'm not an expert, that's just basically how it was explained to me by a coast guard.. im also a car guy that doesnt know much about boats in general (probably why the guy explained it the way he did) sorry I didn't explain it correctly.. but thank you for the knowledge.
@@ninja4187 absolutely... there's a perfect explanation video by Destin from "Smarter Every Day" which visited such a CoastGuard boat... Incredible shots of their braking performance as well as a full power start from their station. Stunning!
@@SirAeleon oh ok thank you for that. I'll check it out.
@@MrBugsier5 The same applies to Jet Aircraft...
They also have a folding plate/bucket that redirects the exhaust blast to the front, putting the jet into "reverse", they're used on landing to slow the plane down so you don't rely on the wheel brakes or risk blowing a tire by locking the brakes up...
You guys are awesome, once I get into a new video I can’t stop watching all the old ones! What you do is badass, it’s hard work and no one handles it the way you guys do. Love the content!

Absolutely love finally getting to see a more real side of these TV show shops where y'all can decide the narrative for yourselves.
Side note I hope they make marine bed liner cuz the normal stuff has problems holding moisture in trucks, can't imagine it submerged
They do make marine bed liner as that's what I've had installed in a past boat for a floor
A lot of boats just use epoxy to seal stuff up. Works great but you do need 72 for a full cure and that curved surface would be a pain in the ass to coat. Weight might also be an issue since they were trying to reduce the weight on the military boat.
It would also look kind of bad on that boat if I'm honest.
Dave that fact that you open your everyday life up and share it with the world is amazing! While most people who make it on tv and become famous turn into you know when when it comes to the general public and daily life you have done just the opposite! You seize upon every opportunity to help people and make it interesting/enjoyable at the same time! I cannot express enough how much I appreciate what you do! You and the guys keep u the great work!!

Hey so I’ve been looking into the Susan Powell case. Particularly paying more attention to what Charlie the son on the interview tape said about how Susan stayed at dinosaur national park. so I began just researching some parks in Utah and neveda and Idaho. And I came across one named clover camp ground that the trail looks like the shape of a long neck dinosaur on the map. So I had a thought what if Charlie saw the map trail in the shape of a dinosaur? If Charlie saw the trail map of the camp ground as a dinosaur maybe that’s why he called it dinosaur national park. It may not be clover camp ground but what if there’s a park that has their map trail in the shape of a dinosaur. I don’t have very good maps of the campgrounds online that they would provide on site, but I thought it may be something to look into.
This actually sounds like it could have happen 🤔

You were close on the history of that craft. It was originally purchased by the USMC in 2004. It was called a SURC (Small Unit Riverine Craft). It was transfered to the Navy around 2007. I was a FSR for them from 2004 to 2007 which includes 14 months in IRAQ. Reach out if you want to know more about the history. Bye the way, not sure if it was removed already, but the fuel tank compartment had 80% of the armor..

With all of your equipment you would make a hell of a parade. Every mans dream.
My Hinckley picnic boat uses the exact same running gear. 36’ only you can drive it using a joystick. You twist the knob to steer, 3 modes. Docking , power steering and helm. Docking when you stop pushing the stick forward or backwards the jet shoots straight down so it makes it great for maneuvering. If you hold the stick port or starboard and push forward then back, forward and back it will turn in its own radius. It has bow thrusters too but you don’t need them. If you ever make it to the coast of Maine I’ll let you try it out if want a tour of the area.
I am jealous of your SURC! Not sure how many SEALs rode in it, but I am sure there were plenty of Marines and Riverines. We had a lot of fun in those, the RPBs and the Viper Boats the coasties had.

Hey Dave, you do realise that amperage doesn’t really matter with regard to working on or near the water, voltage is more important. So changing the alternators from 24 volt 500 amp, to 24 volt 80 amp has no effect on safety, it just means that they do not put as much load on the engines which makes them more efficient
It is the amps that are most harmful. They say under 50 volts, with less amps is safer. Granted you need volts to create any power, but in theory what he did is better in case of any accidents.
You could get hit with a million volts as long as it's under half an amp. Get hit with 100 volts with 100 amps would be a totally different story. Voltage is not what kills ya amperage does
@@nickcollins1528 what I meant was that he is still running 24 volt, it only takes about 50 milliamperes across your heart to kill you. If a fault or accident occurred the smaller 80 amp output would not be any safer, they just take less engine power to run so would be a bit more efficient. I doubt it would even be noticeable with those 500 hp engines running Hamilton Jets. Efficiency is not really the goal here, performance is what that setup is aiming for.
You are all forgetting one thing, it has a lead acid battery powered 24volt supply which can easily output hundreds of amps, I mean it starts those two big diesels so it can probably easily supply 300 cranking amps if not more! 🤷♂️
@@grahamstretch6863 my point exactly, changing the amp output of the alternators doesn’t change the voltage of the system. DC voltages up to about 50 volts are relatively safe with regards to electrocution, AC systems even a little higher. This is why 48 volt DC is common in off grid solar / battery systems. My initial comment relates to changing the alternators to a lower current output won’t make the system any safer, just slightly less load on the engines.
Refreshing the Anti fouling might have been a wiser first fix.
I don't know if you've thought of this but that boat would be a great platform for a handicap accessible marine experience.
