A very big advantage of the G9-II is that DR-Boost works at all ISO values (up to 60fps). VLog starts at ISO500. It is not possible to switch it on or off, the camera uses it all the time if possible. This together with the better AF are the most important features because you don't need to start with ISO2000 for VLOG anymore.
They also improved the e-stabilization. It is now much better for walking shots.
love the G9ii! Shot for 5 straight hours in like 72F degrees powered via vmount and still no issues
S5 II AF needs to be updated at this point.
I’ve tried the Viltrox .71x with the 18 to 35 and it worked great. It was almost like a new lens.

USB-PD was introduced with the GH5M2. First thing i bought after using the GH5M2 for a few weeks was a compatible USB-Powerbank and it worked perfect. Now with the G9M2 it's the same as before. I skipped the GH6.. and yes the 10-25 is the best lens for M4/3 ever made :)
Surprising I haven’t seen more info about USB-PD. Seems like it would be more talked about especially because I remember the GH5II and GH6 launches and everyone saying you could finally charge with USB but “it wasn’t enough power to keep the camera fully charged.”
The 25-50 is also wonderful
@@_tographer You need USB-PD with 9V 3A - the camera runs forever and charges the battery at the same time. With less power it's just extending the runtime. I have a Powebank and a USB-Power-Plugin (Anker GaN Prime). This is the same for GH5-II, GH6 and G9-II.
I'm an S5ii user, and want to get a G9ii to add to the kit. I picture myself using the Sigma 18-35mm with a regular adapter for most stuff (I tend to sit in the 35-70mm focal range on full frame) and then switch the adapter out for a speedbooster style when I need some extra light and wider field of view. One lens for a whole wedding day! I have the Viltrox adapter for L-mount and it works great.
Curious, what’s the appeal of the G9II to you instead of adding another S5II? They are basically the same price so why not stick to just L mount?
@@_tographer I have two S5ii! While I love so many things about them, I haven't been able to find the setup that works for everything across a whole wedding day, and M43 still has some strengths that I think might help alleviate that. That, and I'd love something that I can run some telephoto lenses for bird stuff (outside of wedding work)
I'm using a Viltrox EF to mft adapter (EF-M2 II 0.71x) that's a few years old and a Canon EF 70-300 on my G9 II and it works great. I'll be using it for a dance recital next month for the close up shot.
