  • Best aftermarket wireless backup / reverse camera solution in my opinion if you not could use your original car system. Because I have the audio20 command system its has no options for rear camera install from fabric. You could find different system from China but not sure how reliable they are.
This Garmin BC 30 system its really easy to install for pretty much all cars, because you taking power to the transmitter from reverse light and when you put in reverse the camera automatically power on. You could probably use some kind of relay to power up if faster if the delay bothers you.
Downside for some may be that's Garmin GPS its not included in the backup camera box, because its used as a screen you have to get some model that's have the option for extern camera. Many different units have it mine was one of the cheapest GPS only 90€. Totally for this install was around 250€
If its bother you to have mounted GPS in the car this solution its not for you. I love it and the stock GPS in this model its really bad not usable mostly. Camera its mounted in same place like the original rear camera for this model.
    This video it’s installed for a Mercedes-Benz W212 E-Class estate.

Great video. I wish it existed a few years ago when I did the same in my car, connected to COMMAND. Would save me a lot of stress while trying to understand how to disassemble the rear door plastics without breaking anything :). Interesting that you connected the camera to the negative of the backup light. I did connect to the best ground I could find, but still have video stability issues. I used a filter between the positive of the backup light and the camera but didn’t improve. How is the quality and stability of your image?
Thanks again for posting these videos. They are quite unique in YT for W212.

Yess this it’s a pretty easy installation process compare to retrofit camera for command system, but still you got it for your original screen think that’s the best solution if you have the option for it. Badly I only got audio20 and it’s has not any option for rear camera or other installations. I did try to get ground from other sources in the tailgate first but did not work that way. But I could see Garmin install video did the same way. Don’t have any quality issues picture it’s stabile for so long, images quality could be bit better but already know it would not be crips had this in another car before. It does what it should in my opinion. Glad you like my videos, more W212 coming for sure 🔥

Bra jobbet - still trying to find the missing piece of the jigsaw on CZcams. How to take the wiring through the D pillar to the head unit. Any help appreciated.

I'd say move the camera a bit lower, it seems angled to high. And the second thing, always wash top down :). A fellow mb212 group guy.

Yess somehow I forgot it when I was in the garage I going to adjust it bit lower now it’s around - 20 outside have to wait to get it in warm place again. I learned that’s well discussed topic how you wash correctly ☺️ Thanks for you input.

Хорошая работа! Единственно надо к штатному монитору подключить. Этот слишком медленный.

Do you know of any aftermarket backup cameras that can be used with the OEM screen? I currently have the factory backup camera on my 2010 E350z however, it’s not the best and has no lines. So just looking for something to replace it along with guide lines in it

Pretty sure I have seen some of these when browsing aliexpress. But I would not change the oem unit for the cheap aftermarket cameras you may get more problem then you want too. But is your choice.

Don’t have any option in mine. Only audio20 unit it’s really basic.

    Looks very professional! Good job!
I also installed a reverse camera but a permanent reverse camera and a dashcam all in one.
The reverse camera and dashcam is displayed on ‘second’ rear mirror ( aftermarket rear view mirror clipped over your original view mirror)
Maybe that is something for you? Since it is all in one.

I did my best to get the install proper, glad you like it. Kind of looked at that first it’s a really cool solution but somehow it was to much for me, and I really needed a good GPS unit.
