Can we give this presenter an applause! You can see he is comfortable with her questions, she shows a genuine love for his art. He did not look this relaxed at The Breakfast Club.
Africa on Focus I was gonna day the same thing,he barely even wanted to talk...straight answers
I was thinking the exact same thing. Maybe he's just generally more comfortable in the UK considering how strong the diaspora is over there. America might be a more fish out of water experience for him.
Thank you! Exactly 😘😘😘😘😘
I was just about to say the same thing. They could not ask better questions. Smh.
That's Skepta's sister btw
man switches between a nigerian and british accent smoothly loool
XrSnipezz he’s been doing it for years on every interview lol it’s so confusing 😂😂😂
XrSnipezz 😂 his “living” in UK years back wasn’t a waste since the accent switch was smooth lol
Bilingual
His accent is so fire, I’m a nigerian diaspora guy like him and no nigerian ik that grew up overseas can switch accents as smooth as him
My american accent is so strong, when i do my naija voice you can still hear it.
Wish I was equally strong in both like him
His mum is a well spoken woman also. Love the way she speaks
“You weren’t forced to come here... You came here with the same royalty that you had, nobody took it away” Burna talks gems
What a profound statement!!
Julie said a gem as well but didn’t really know it.Her Parents chose to come from Nigeria to London. Many of us ended up in America because someone took our ancestors there. That makes a difference.
Martins Imagbe Osayande do you have the plain ticket and house money? It’s my goal to travel there in my life, but implying that anyone can just up and move to another continent is ignorant at best.
Martins Imagbe Osayande it’s not that easy
Burna's voice! 😩🖤🇬🇭
Nigeria × Ghana to the world thanks Burna for reppin 🌍🌐
Smugod Official Sierra Leone 💎
It's very telling, watching his openness and comfort level speaking in UK interviews vs American ones where he is very quiet and reserved.
He definitely seems so much more comfortable than on his Breakfast Club interview. But also maybe cuz he's being interviewed by a fellow Nigerian who gets his cultural expression.
On God!
@@nhguar Also in the UK we're more culturally aware and don't make the same daft comments as Americans....my man Charlamagne was just going on about Cape Town and Wakanda, it was embarrassing
It's not about the location. It's about the interviewer.
@@SA-oq5lz Of course it's gonna be easier for the UK to be culturally aware because all the foreigners there are first generation British. It only makes sense for it to be rich with culture as it hasn't been washed out throughout the years like America's has. And to put things into perspective, we talking about the UK (which is the size of Arizona in the states, theoretically) where it's easier for these things to travel versus the whole entire U.S.
He seems so comfortable here maybe because he was in the Uk and interviewed by a brit who's also naija.
🎯🎯🎯
@mark daniels oh hunny how on earth did I miss this. There really isnt much I can say but I can only assume you're an unhinged imbecile. What didnt you get, the fact that I referred to him being clearly more relaxed and receptive to questions here then he had been in the interviews he had around that time? Or that is used the term, "Naija"?
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing... He looks so relaxed here with Julie !
Happy seeing Burna Boy getting the international recognition he deserves.
And he is educated and smart from the way he speaks
He deserves it
Yo, can we give some props to the audio engineer that recorded this? - audio is buttery smooth and my ears were climaxing the whole time.
I like how comfortable everyone is in Julie's interviews
His voice makes my body shake 😭😭 Stefflon is enjoying oo
Kay Kay 😂😂
Wat is she enjoying.. the voice or the cucumber 🥒
They not together no more
Yesss lolol😂😂😂
Daii Allona unfourtunetly he still cheating on me with her 😭
It's the voice & the love for Africa for me!
Everybody say Burnaaa(DJ Voice)
🔥🔥🔥🔥💃🇳🇬🇺🇸✊🏾
I am 💯 % American born and raised and I absolutely love Burna Boy as a person as well as an entertainer❤️
Pure talent.... Thanks for the Ghana shout out
This " African Giant".... You are loved in the States, Burna Boy... Through you I am connecting with my African roots... Keep making great music🎼🎵🎼🎵🎼I have reconnected with my " West African roots, and next is my " Tribal" connection. So that my children won't fail to know where their ancestors originated from
Yolanda Liggins that's nice 😊
Culture Freedom surely if you have been displaced by white people, surely you’d want to know where you’re originally from?
Better dont connect with your african, if you want to live long and not have spiritual problems. Dey Your Lan, Make dem Dey their Lane
Of all the interviews, this is got to be the one that Burna actually connects with the interviewer.
So I am a black woman from America and fortunately for me I know my roots but what Burna said is real, alot of Americans dont know their roots. Its pretty sad. I didn't really like his comment at first but sadly he's right. That's why it's important for our youth to know their history. Keep preaching Burna, but please dont dont say we arent royal because we have Kings and Queens out here too. ❤
I feel your hurt, you did speak like royalty. Love from Lagos Nigeria
You will always have a place in Africa ,you have a right too like we all do.
It occurred to me that his comment there may have come off as harsh to American ears, however I think he was trying to speak to the strength of the diaspora in the UK as opposed to the US were unfortunately AA had their roots and connections stripped away from them, it may be more an observational point on his part. Your royalty is fully recognised over here in Africa sis.
Respected
I really appreciate your words, however me as an African who also knows and understands my root and culture want to add that... I don't really think the rest of the black world really appreciate the importance of what The Great African in the Americas, esp the African American (US). I'm sorry whilst we all suffered as black people so much was achieved for all African through the African America. They were able to build a modern African in North, South, Central and Caribbean America. So many moves that allowed all black people to begin to emancipate themselves. So whilst it may seem like Black Americans need educating about self, so too do the Africans on the continent and 1st generation highly ignorant and idiotic and self grandiose Africans. I say this bcoz we as Black people's need to appreciate that this stuff ain't no one sided equation.
Peace.
My two favourite people! Always wanted Julie to interview Burna. Africa stand up :D
no im sitting
@@Ella-rw9oc nobody asked
@@Ihavemadeit999 neither did anyone ask for your response
Although I understand the sentiment behind his comment, as a descendant of enslaved Africans taken to Cuba, where I was born, I have to say that those of us impacted by slavery will never be able to connect in the way an African born in Africa or even a first generation African born outside of Africa can. We can do our research, travel to Africa, embrace the music and the culture..but there will always be a missing link.
Anyway, can't wait to see him live in DC!
This is so true and it saddens me 😔
Ghana we dey here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is only Ghanaians .dat speaks hate to Nigerians
@@jeremiahkelechi This is not a hate message. smh
@@jeremiahkelechi Where's the hate?

Hi, Ada. I'm also in Minnesota. Would love to meet you sometimes
Love him so much 😭❤️
His eyes thou...😍😍his voice. 😘😙😘
Julie was right, black/African Americans (only put the slash because we can identify ourselves as both) only say that because we’re a mix of west Africa and we weren’t granted the privilege of knowing where exactly we are from in Africa whether it be Nigeria, Ghana, Benin, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, Togo, etc. We know oh trust we know just can’t get specific so yeah I say I’m from Florida. Now with that being said I have done a DNA test through African ancestry and know the exact tribe all the women on my mothers side descends from, but not everyone has the money to buy one test let alone 4 tests to breakdown their full DNA code.
OluwaBurna big up uself, True mix of Nigerian, street British with a touch of Jamaican patois nice flavour - Mannaz and Raspeck 💚💛🧡

I love Burnaboy and this interview is organic❤
I love yooooooooooou burnaaaaaa
Love him 😍😍😘🙏
OLUWA BURNA !!!
Burna too smooth ❤️❤️🐐
Bigups burna Ghana
Burna is a forceful voice of wisdom and truth, what I love about this gifted artist is his music genre and how his influence is mixed with past artist especially Femi - he keeps his head high and culturally intact. I wanted to go to his concert but the tickets were sold out a shame but not a loss. I play his music in the morning to give me spiritual grace - the words are mind opening and opens some of the hidden history that are not spoken about. My desire is to go to Ghana and I will. As the famous quote from this star states "You were African before anything else"
Im only discovering Burna Boy now. His music and story. Hes got really good music production, his videos r great....and he is such a gorgeous man
Namesakeeeee!🙌😩🔥
Fela on Steroids!! Oluwa Burna!!! Big LOVE from PH City.

Lol I’m sorry I love Burna as much as the next person, but Fela on steroids? Relax
Solid interview. Very effortless and easy going. Reminds me of his recent interview on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. Clearly he’s more comfortable with his fellow Africans and rightfully so.

😊 Burna knows Gambia 🇬🇲. Yeah that’s the highlight of the interview for me 😌
