Luke, thank you so much. Doing all these videos with your busy schedule and giving us back so much. Can't describe how much I've learned from you. Mad respect!
Luke is shit DJ he joke
gareth Evans thx for the tip, Gareth. Looking fwd to your show
Love LaidbackLuke. Love how I have been lucky enough to see him mix, live from up front. He knows how to mix the hell out of the tracks, live. Also love how he is willing enough to teach upcoming artists.
You and Ellaskins do the best tutorials about DJing!
YUU MONADI ML Ya you might be right but most of his Tutorials are helpfull! And some ideas for translations are Great. But i defently dont agree With the Key Thing.. he says that Mixed in Key is a must for a DJ! Look at luke, he dont use Mixed in Key at all and his Sets are absolute bangers!
Hey Luke, Thank you very much for taking the time to do all of this, is nothing but helpful and inspiring for beginners Dj's like me.
grateful to have one of the best Dj's That lives take time out of his busy schedule to teach and motivate the up comings to keep it real. THANK YOU.
I love coming home from a hard week of work to watch your videos Luke! Real inspiration! Keep up the good work! Can't wait to see you at tomorrowland on my 21st Birthday!
Hey Luke I just wanted to say thank you for all the tutorials and vlogs! I just started in the DJ/producer life and these have been incredibly helpful! Also I'm a big fan of your music and I've seen you live a couple of times around the world! Keep killin it man!
I was never too fond of you luke, but giving back to the community and showing us dj's eager to learn, while also showing us your more than just a big name, you've gained some mad respect..
I've learned so much with your tutorials Mr. Luke! Glad you always put out your knowledge to all of us! I also use a lot of ''transition tracks'' in my sets, songs that already change the tempo in the middle, it helps a lot, they're key songs imo! Thanks so much man! Love from Brazil
It's so awesome to be able to pick your brain like this! I'm always picking up something from your vids, even if there was something I thought I knew. L's up!
Now that we are voting for the DJ Mag, it will be nice that in your next vlog you comment your top 10 producers and top 10 djs, in your opinion. 🙏
+1 would love to listen to a pro opinion because dj mag seems more like a popularity contest than a talent one
Yeah! I never voted for the DJ Mag myself but wouldn't it be kick ass if we all vote for Luke? We have 160.000 subscribers over here :-D I know how LL thinks about the DJ Mag and I share his vision...but I don't know...He just deserves the attention and it would be fun to have him rank first. I'm going to vote right now .-)
He should
Hehehe I just voted! Oh man I hope we can mobilise a lot of the followers to vote. How do we go about this?
love the vlog :) speaks a lot of sense a lot of mainstage "big name DJs" could learn a lot from this video!?!
I can't even begin to thank you. Your straight forward way of explaining improved my mixing by 1000%. It was so simple but for some reason I guess I didn't understand before. In less than 24 hours after seeing your videos for the first time my skill level reached levels I couldn't hit for years. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge. U da man
Great stuff Laidback Luke! I'm not a DJ but I certainly know someone who keeps following your vlogs and who is a such big fan of yours!
The kid you mentioned whom you got the idea of L L hand gestures in Casablanca last 2008. @mim0oo 😉🙂
I felt so happy that you made a shoutout to him. You have no idea how much it made him so happy! 😁
Keep it up! You're an inspiration to all DJs and DJ aspirants out there! 👆
Yo thank you so much. Always loving your videos!!!
Yet another useful vlog by LBL! Great tips and tricks! Keep it up, love these vids!
Good tutorial there and also good tips for a set so a DJ should know when to switch genres in a set. Thanks !
Thank you Luke this is great advice for someone like me who is trying to learn how to dj . I often like to switch from genre to genre and I hear it and it sounds like exactly what you were talking about
I've seen so many videos/read so many forums on this particular subject but this is by far the best and I feel like I am a better DJ just from having watched this I can't wait to go home and practice!
that last message was the exact question ive been asking myself this past week , thank you luke video quite helpful
Thank you Luke one of the best tutorials I have seen on CZcams you are a big help to anyone who wants to start djing
Ive been watching your videos for a long time,'m new to cdc but i learn so much from watching your videos. They are very helpful and informal.Thankyou keep it coming.
Hey, thanks Luke, that was really a great topic to cover as we beginners face these problems very much. I'm glad that we have a super technical and dedicated DJ/Producer like you.
For sure going to use these techniques at my party next weekend. Loving the #DedicatedDad too. Thanks for making these videos for all us weekend DJs.
This has helped me so much. Great info on the bpm advice and the style progression in sets. Thanks man!
Loved this, Luke. Never occurred to me that tempo sync was used in radio mixing. It makes sense now why those transitions are always so smooth.
LUKE YOU ARE BEST !! :D
First time seeing your videos Luke, thank you for making things so clear and easy to follow. I am learning to DJ as a hobby, I love to host and throw parties but want to take the music up a notch and your video's are really helping me.
Been waiting on this for a long time!!!!
Thanks Luke! I have been learning very much, I wish I could just hang out with you and watch you DJ every day like a mentor!
No words sometimes I so enjoy every tutorial! Keep up the awesome sessions..
Hey Luke! Thanks for this and everithing. For bedroom djs like me who lives in a country where there are no djing courses thats a major help for self learning. Thanks for sharing your knoweldge. Please keep up!
Great tutorial! Never thought of changing the pitch that much, but makes a lot more sense now.
Honestly this video is gold. Straigth to the point, no bs or ad sponsorship. The techniques are well demonstrate without overexplanation. Good job!
Im starting to Dj Its been one week now and in 2 weeks I got my first event because my girlfirend sister prom didnt have no budget for a Dj. So I proposed myself to do the job. The fact that you mention to not go to a style to another to fast is a really good tip, I would have made the mistake for sure. My set is gonna be made in consequence. Thank you!
exactly what i needed thank you so much Laidback Luke !!!!!
Yo, you make the best DJ tutorials period.
Thanks Luke :) I hope there are coming other videos like this!
1. Where did you get the dedicated dad shirt??
2. Can you do a video on landing gigs: who to ask for, what to ask, etc?
Good demonstration of why you should sync. It clearly provided you with the best transition. You'll get some respect for doing things the hard way but the end result is whats important. Let the haters hate.
Thank you, keep them coming great stuff!
loving this!
your style and music is something inspire mee ❤
Always wondered about this topic. Great lesson from the master himself!!
Sad that you couldnt make it last night in Sac but I still enjoy and learn lots from all your videos, keep it up man!!
Thank you so much Laidback Luck. Always trying to better the experience for those that listen to what I play! Even more important is the advice at the end. You need to have a consistent story to tell, do not keep changing the genre every song. It would be like starting to read a Comic Book, then the next page is a novel, followed by a Newspaper article. Hard to follow and flow! Great job as always sir!
Aloha Luke!!!
You truly are one cool dude!!!
Seriously, thanks for the blog!
Thank you so much luke for this video. I learned a lot from this video! keep it up!
Cannot wait for the G-Flow vlog!!!!!
Love your tutorials Luke
Luke, this is power! Thank you for sharing this.
HI Luke, thanks a lot for this video, this was real useful, especially since I know I am guilty of switching back and forth between genres probably way too much, thanks again!!

You've made a lot of key points there with sync button. I've always managed to echo out. I've been watching your videos. How do you find time between personal time, family and shows? Not to mention the time to edit videos....you make for us fans. Awesome bro.
Pleasure to watch your vids Luke..
You definitely deserve to be in Top 10 djs. And looks like you put some quality mass, keep it up :)

Great vid. Man. I liked it and so you got me as a newbie. Just subscribed 👍👍
Such an awesome Dude. So thankful for you bro!
Thank you for validating something I've said back when I only knew how to spin on Traktor before I learned on CDJs. I've always argued that there is nothing wrong with using Sync and in situations like these, like if you want to do multi-genre sets and need to make big BPM jumps, it only makes sense to use Sync unless you're just going to drop the next track on the 1.
