Surprise Snowmen Built Just for Virtual Railfan Viewers

- Ashland and Vashland (Virtual Ashland) were treated to something really special on December 9, 2018. In front of the camera, two residents built snowmen before the eyes of more than 2,000 viewers. With the postcard perfect snow, the trains on a slow order reflecting the Christmas lights, and the joy of two young ladies creating this snow family, hearts were definitely filled with holiday cheer.

I am 42 years old and their snow-family is WAY better than any snowman I have ever made in my whole life. This whole scene, with the kids making a snowman, the trains going by, the Christmas lights, so reminiscent of when I grew up. So glad to see kids out there in the snow instead of being glued to their electronic devices.

Its been a year since we made the snowmen! A friendly reminder before snow season starts, absolutely do NOT put snowmen on traintracks! I see a lot of these joking comments and I am worried people might actually build them on the tracks, but it could seriously mess up a train if they hit a snowman at high speeds! Stay safe and leave the snowmen OFF the tracks please! Happy Holidays!

I didn't realize how close you and Rei were to the tracks until the first Amtrak train came in and I noticed you girls were staying well away when a train was coming in.

I'm watching this from a place where the temperature is over a 100 degrees everyday. Merry Christmas to all Virtual Railfans from down under where it doesn't snow except high in the mountains for a few short months each year.

I sat and watched the snow fall in this stream from my chair here in the UK yesterday. It was magical watching it fall and getting thicker. The trains running though the town as the snow fell was mesmerising. The addition of the Snow People was amazing. Well done to you both.

Ashland was used as a movie set for a Christmas movie because it is so beautiful during Christmas. The movie is called Christmas Every Day.
