Is there a point to try harding and climb ranks in this season of twist, like special Rewards? or Is it a "for fun" game event?
You get rewards for climbing Twist like climbing Standard, just not additional rewards for playing 2 formats.
this season special reason to climb may be(or may not) that you can get ultra-high legend. i just get top20 eu(when lowest i could get was 40)
it boost your hidden mmr a lot, in case you need it for future 11 stars bonus

What do you mean more accessible? They made starter packs for twist only available by runestones. Do effectively another extra paywall. So they are locking out f2p players and people who do not like to spend 250dollars every expension to keep up to date. This is just horrible, and disgusting on their part. It shows again their lack of ethics and actually caring about their player base.
Also stop deleting comment clark. If you don't like people criticizing your fav game, you should not be on a public platform.

I have been playing this game for over a decade, have been a f2p player and have only seen the game not only power-creep to an absurd level, but also seen the reward system and the implementation of money grab tactics grow to obscene levels. There is a reason why they are not doing that many tournaments anymore, why all the przie money dried up, remember that thijs actually won a ferrarri and became a millionaire and lives in kind of a mansion because of this game?? What heappened with that kind of money?
Do you know why so many pro-players and casual players leave and why the game feels broken.
Blizzard do not care about the game, the players and especially the f2p player base that kept the game going and made their game relevant to begin with.
Not saying the devs do not care, but blizzard definitely does not.
You used to make 100 gold every three wins, look at what happened to it now.
I used to be able to grind out 30000 gold every new expansion, before the stupid reward track, whereas nowadays I cant even get near that number in the same time-frame. Maybe if im lucky and play more then 3 hours per dat I get up to 16k-18k ish.
The game is broken and will not get fixed, control is dead every game is over before turn 10 and nobody even bats an eye.
That's what makes players leave and that's why it will never come back again from the damage done to it. Just look at the number of bots playing and the declining player base.
There's good reason for that.
LIke it or not, the truth is plain to see for those who actually care about it.
Stop being so incredible biased and see the game for what it is.

It is impossible to argue how much more accessible this Twist format is compared to past seasons. Previously, you needed a full 30-card deck, and Blizzard didn't give anyone a free deck to experiment within the format, so people naturally weren't interested after hearing about the balance issues alongside the paywall.
But in this Twist season, all players start with 4 free heroes, gain 2 heroes more if they open a Whispers of Old Gods/Ashes of Outland. And worst case, you need to "invest" 1600 dust to get the legendary necessary to play the deck you want. I really don't understand why so many people are omitting these key differences and reusing the same buzz words as last season, but I stand by my statement that this season of Twist is 100% more accessible.
To clarify, when recording this video, I wasn't aware of the Twist cards in the shop for Runestones. I've always been against the concept of Runestones from the very beginning, and if you really need the words straight from the horse's mouth, "I do not suggest buying anything Twist related, especially if it requires real money."
I am not sure comments you're referring to, but I only delete spam bots and blatant disrespect. All feedback is welcome on this channel, but I will not tolerate people obviously trying to get a rise out of the community.
Not gonna tackle the whole esports topic because I've been very vocal about my love for the Hearthstone esports scene, so it should be obvious that I want the program to be successful. But dude, we need to not kid ourselves here. Thijs's Championship victory was in 2015. Almost nine years ago. And since then, he's had a lucrative career with G2 esports, various sponsors, and one of the largest Hearthstone communities on Twitch.
It's not fair to point at one of the most successful streamers and say, "Well, why isn't anyone doing what he did too?" There are other examples, Toast, RDU, dogdog, etc but you're focusing on a fraction of a percent of players. And it's obvious why other creators leave. Hearthstone is now a 10 year old game and people's priorities and interests change, yet Hearthstone perseveres and continues to make a profit.
You used to make gold every 3 wins, but it was 10g at a time and you needed to play 30 WINS to get 100 gold through sheer gameplay. Now, you gain 100g by accidentally clicking too many completed quests in a row. Gold Economy/Card Acquisition is 100% now than it was back then, and it's not even up for debate. Hearthstone Mathematics have already tackled this proving these statements. I really don't know where you're going with this.
There's like 3 other points I didn't tackle, but the point I'm trying to make is that I've always been critical about Hearthstone's decisions and try to voice what I believe is right for the game. Saying I'm biased when most of your statements/opinions here are clearly rooted in your pre-conceived concept on what Hearthstone is/will become doesn't feel fair when it, to me, it appears that you're not looking at the full picture. I am critical when it's time to give feedback, but I am also able to appreciate Hearthstone for what it is in the present versus always thinking about how the game "should" be improved.

I am not trying to be facetious with any of these comments, and I hope you understand where I'm coming from. Hearthstone has opened many doors for several different creators, including myself, and I have a strong feeling more opportunities will be available for more people within the Tavern.

Aloow me to elaborate a bit .Because before this change you could get 2-3 legendary cards at 3200 Gold. Now you can only buy those legendaries through runestones. That is why everyone is Omitting that.
I have a preconceived notion? Really how exactly, look at the number of bots, and the number of active paying vs non paying monthly players.
Look at the top 1000 legend in wild and in standard, over 50% are bots not real player. Just look on the leader boards.
The game is dying and has been doing that for the past couple of years.
Viewership on youtube and twitch across the board is going down, looking at every hs channel for the numbers on that. From thijs to rarran to warshack, ecore and many others.
Mentioning thijs is unfair.
He won a ferarri playing the game. Most if not all of his money he made was from playing this game.
He made over 500K just from playing championships. And paid for his house in cash from his earnings on the game.
I made 30k on average before the reward track now I barely get up to 18k before every expansion.
How do I have a preconceived notion.
Every game is pure aggro or hyper aggro.
It's either they die or you are dead on turn 8 at best.
Control does not exist except for bomb, bran warrior or DK and even that got nerved.
Don't even get me started on wild, dead on turn 6 every-time. Either demon seed, ebon blade pala, ramp simulator druid or hyper agrro pirate rogue or draw entiore deck by turn 6 rogue.
But nobody really cares about wild, because only f2p players play it and let's be honest who cares about 2 months now of that kind of meta in wild. Demon seed and ebon blade ruling the meta and kill you consistently at turn 6 or 7 if you are lucky.
I think you meant to say "If you are always looking in the rear ciew mirror, you can never see the beauty that is right in front of you."
So yeah, there is my take on it again.
Wish people would actually care about this game.
And twist got paywalled, behind runestones, so for the average casual hs f2p player that mode is dead now.
