      Maitre Mark You did?! 😃😃😃 I guess you’re a Hungarian too! XD Are you? :) I’m English! XD Hungarians kick so much arse in fencing! ;) 😃😃😃 One of them owns a fencing club at Durham university and I’ve heard fencing’s very popular in Hungary! 😃😃😃 Not in England though! :( We’re more mad about football! 😝😝😝

      Maitre Mark I don’t know if you spelled their names right! XD But what I think I do know is Hungarian and..Czech? Are insanely hard languages to learn! 😱😱😱 You’re from Australia huh? :) I’ve heard you guys also have a place called Newcastle don’t you? XD How funny are the literal translations of them jokes? When the Dutch talk normally they have some very hilarious literal translations! 😂😂😂😂😂

    Why do they touch their swords?

      so they can hold it

      Oh. You mean after the touches. You see, the blade is very, very flexible (especially the ones the good people use), so if you bend it the wrong way, it could break. So they have to bend it the right way. It could also potentially make the weapon lighter.

      To make sure the handguard part of the blade is properly grounded, meaning it will not register a point if touched by the opponent's tip of their blade.

      @@jeykk quite the opposite the blades need to be stiffer the better you get because quicker and stronger actions are required, and if they dont bend it the right way it is dangerous and painful.

    This commentary is dire to say the least. It’s obvious the commentators are non fencers with less knowledge of the sport.

    I wonder why I almost always cheer for the South Korean?
    It's a pity that he didn't find his rhythm.

      He kept advancing too soon, his timing started to become repetitive - making it predictable for opponent when to expect his attack. I tend to make the same mistake, which totally ruins my score that I used to have advantage.

    A 32 year old "senior??"

    • @rjevskyfencing777
      @rjevskyfencing777 Před rokem

      It's a different meaning in fencing terminology. "Senior" fencer is someone who is not a teen. It goes literally after "Y14" (14 years old or younger) fencers.
      There are "Veteran" fencers category, who are past 40 years old.
