Hey James good to see a new video from you, I turned 21 in july and have been enjoying more than my fair share of craft beers since then. Just stumbled across the BBA on youtube a couple weeks ago and even tho I have the whole catalog to go threw its kind of disheartening knowing it's over. I am happy to hear you are enjoying spending time with your family and biking, but I do think you should consider a monthly episode of the BBA because there really is something special about the whole show. Any ways cheers drinking some Punk' In Drublic from Coronado brewing it's damn good just like the BBA
It was nice seeing this pop up today. Just wanted to say thanks and glad things are going well, James. Better Beer Authority was the series that got me into craft beer around 2011. Belated congrats on the weight loss, by the way. Lost 55lbs myself almost 3 years ago.
One of the new Founder's releases, Pale Joe. Pretty darn good.
Congratulations on the bike racing.
Enjoy your biking and beer videos! Just finished up my standby Founders All Day IPA and a 2009 Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale. Cheers!
Drinking a Port Brewing 10 Year Anniversary IPA, thanks for the update James.
Sadly I am at work, but I did have a Coronado 20th Anniversary Double IPA a few hours ago at lunch. Cheers!
Man i miss you!! ♥♥♥ Cheers!
James!! Cool to see you do the BA Siberian Night 2013 because I had the 2013 Wulver not that long ago. Both amazing beers for sure. We still gotta meet up at Hoof Hearted sometime man. Not far from you! Good to see a video man. Cheers!
Just crack some Maine island trail ale from Rising Tide in Portland. Awesome city full of amazing beers that everyone should check out. Would love to see more BBA videos! Cheers.
Drinkin' an Old Rasputin right now, here in the north side of Columbus. Good to see you talking about beer again. (even though its a year old.) Re-subscribed.
you need to do better beer authority videos again we miss you
Drinking a Julius by treehouse james, cheers good to see you back
drinking a wig splitter from Three Floyds (munster, IN) with HALF A 2017 KBS poured into a pint glass. Garnished with a half inch segment of whole vanilla bean!
I have been slowly working through a six pack of Dogfish Head Flesh and Blood IPA. I pretty much love everything that comes out of that brewery and I'm admittedly a huge fanboy.
I'm glad to see you still occasionally post beer related content. I liked BBA and was sad to see it go. Never unsubscribed though and these little moments make that worth it.
I can Knott believe what I am seeing. The guy from the Bitter Deer Authority! Just an excuse to use one of my oldest and dearest puns.
Word on the street is he James will come out of retirement to review Rocket Frof Brewing Company! 🍺
I'm drinking a homebrew ipa I named society and suicide. malts are pilsen malt for the base, pale wheat malt and honey malt. hops are Nelson sauvin for bittering, Motueka for flavor and aroma and Amarillo for aroma. yeast was Denny's favorite by Wyeast. first batch didn't turn out quite right. tweaking recipe for the 2nd cut
Great to see you on here again James, seeing as you had a stout I thought I would too! Just had 1 of our own brewed "Black Gold" stouts mmmm hope all is well man, cheers James, Mike.
looking ripped buddy
Drinking a Perennial Sump Coffee imperial stout at 11.5%.
two hearted ale. good go-to beer for hot summer.
Today feels like an Oberon-kind-a-day!
hey james, im having a founders all day ipa. good to see you again.
What a ground-breaking beer. I had one two weekends ago. One of my highlights from BBA was interviewing the owners of Founders right at the time that they were releasing that.
drinkin a 90 minute now.
Hey James,
have you been to the Brew Kettle in Strongsville, OH? They let you brew your own Beer with several styles available. I would like to have went when I was in New London but don't. Drinking a PBR.
A home brew cream ale that I dry hopped and had orange peel and grains of paradise seeds added
Did it turn out how you wanted it to? I don't know what grains of paradise seeds would do to the flavor.
Grains of paradise add a faint but pleasant spice kick to it. I have never had grains of paradise before the brew day for this beer and I bit in to it and I felt a burn, but in the beer it's faint. The beer is pretty refreshing. A touch thinner than I wanted, but I was going for a summer light feel so it's not all bad.
Sandport - Wheat Off The Wall from Thailand
awesome! cheers, you've been missed. I'm cracking a home brew ipa!
What kind of hops? You're making me thirsty ...but that's not hard to do right now. :)
Ha it's a hot one for sure. My IPA is made with warrior and citra hops. Dry hopped twice with citra for a nice fruity nose.
Bear Republic Racer 5 IPA
Bell’s expedition stout
franziskaner naturtrub 👍🍻 cheers
Man has the beer game changed since you've been reviewing. Any plans on reviewing again? would love to hear your thoughts on some of the New England styles that have been taking over.
I'm most likely not going to be doing the show again. I think it's better for my hobby to be a little bit more active - then I can have a beer afterwards. I do harbor a pipe dream for when I return to the working world of opening a "Better Beer Authority" store, where I review beers that are available in the store as a way to drum up business - still blind taste tests though so that the reviews are legit.
...furthermore, a lot has changed since I was reviewing. The number of breweries has doubled since I left the game. It's an exciting time to be passionate about brewing.
Cracked a Dales Pale Ale, cause it's what I got!! If the brewery is in DE I'd like to know more. My home town is Newark, DE, but I currently reside in Denver, CO. Cheers!!
I just went to Dogfish Head and Dewey Beer Company. I liked both a lot. DFH had some great brewpub exclusives when I was there.
I loved Denver when I was there. They have tons of great beers and mountain biking.
+James Knott yeah man, I read your blog post about Buffalo Creek. One of my favorite places to ride for sure.
Drank a staropramen. Can't afford any fancy beer right now. Still good stuff.
Saul Good Man. I don't get fancy every time. I've been known to dabble with light domestic lagers from time to time.
I figured I go to my cellar as well pull out a vintage Natty daddy cheers
Troegs Troegnantor
I has been a while, drinking a Rochefort 8.
I have some Rochefort growing old in my basement. Looking forward to busting it out someday. I think it's the 10 though.
I'm almost out of everything in my basement besides my precious Westvleteren XII which is about a year old right now. Probably let it go another year then find a nice reason to open it.
modelo in a can. i dont know who you are yet
Apocalypse Cow
I forget who makes that. Tell me more.
+James Knott sorry for not replying . Three floyds. Double IPA with lactose
aeronaut a year with dr. nandu. would love if you tried a hazy new england ipa, good stuff from mass! would love to talk about beginning mountain biking i am a recent college grad looking for something athletic to do!
Do you have a mountain bike yet?
no mountain bike, wondering if you could point me in the right direction for an affordable quality starter. Huge fan of the better beer authority btw, hope you guys can get back together and make some new vids, enjoying a hacker pschorr oktoberfest right now, my favorite marzen!
+Shooter McGavin you should check out the Trek Excaliber and see if you can find one in your budget. A used one would be good.
+Shooter McGavin I have a Trek Superfly SS, but that's probably not the best starter bike.
any suggestions for starter bikes james?
Why did you stop doing the show?
Joseph Daurio Mainly for health reasons. It was fun to do, but it was not good for me. Still enjoy drinking beer, but I do less of it.
What happened to Joby?
people thought he was annoying lol
Shorts Huma. Kinda long in the tooth for an IPA, no bottling date, but it's not offensive.
Natty light. 👍🏻
Do you have a wife?
Yes. Why do you ask?
Just out of curiosity, you said stay at home dad and I saw a ring!
I've been married for 12 years. My patient wife puts up with all of this.
That's awesome. Glad to see some people can still hold a monogamous relationship in this day in age. Thanks for all the beer videos!
