    I. Love. Your. Accent. So much.
Super video! I've been wanting to get better at sound design but can't find videos that aren't either garbage or "just buy my custom Ableton rack"...so thank you so much!!
Basic shapes are completely underrated...everybody spends so much money on fancy wavetables when all they really are are variations on basic shapes...
Thanks again for this video :)

You're entirely right you have to build your pallete and understand what your hearing, like learning your scales on an instrument, when you hear it you can recreate it.
Thanks for the video, I'm just starting and it's good to know you can make a whole track with one wave and then progress, brilliant! ;o)

That’s totally it! I actually applied the same method i applied to learning the guitar to sound design!
Learn a concept and then run that concept until my ear turned it into instinct! That helped me after years of being overwhelmed. But I could just be slow to pick things up lol

Nice video man, I prefer the focused videos myself but I guess throwing these in every now and then is a pleasant shift. My favourite way of consuming and learning this kind of stuff is through playlists that contain a structured approach and build on a specific concept. Also you deserve more subs.

Thank you for the feedback man! I’m planning on doing a full synthesis series soon which will be very much like that 😃 also thank you 😃

This is great advice, man. Thank you! The whole A+B≠B+A thing with effects is indeed jarring so keeping it simple is a great option.
You know I'm a big fan of your structured series but this was a refreshing change. Would be more than happy to see more. Keep up the great work! 🐱‍👤

To have all those parameters in a synth can be overwhelming for someone who is just starting (like me). Thanks for your advice!

Very on point video / advice. I've often wanted to dive right in and start doing super complex things with sound, weather it be mixing or design itself. I had to step back and learn how things work on their own before embarking on huge projects and soundscapes.
    Great stuff, subbed. :)

All your videos are great. The Bitwig content is wonderful BW reference material, How to do sound design or audio foundations are really appreciated too, especially as you obviously know what you are talking about. You are a natural.

That graphic output up in the top right is insanely handy for learning! Doing this in Serum doesn't directly show you what it does to the waveshape, but that is Vital™ information IMHO! Yes, pun intended. You can phase modulate sine waves to any other shape like saw or square, and you got visual feedback. More and more impressed with Vital for every day!

Thank you, Garron for this presentation. There is a lot of scope in here but your method of limiting the field of attention emphasises a deep level of 'practice' .
My four penneth of advice for newcomers would be to cultivate the sense of listening.
    Regards,
    Mike

You can route audio through surge! 😃

  • @insertanynameyouwant5311

hi, I`m new to synths and chose Vital to master it. Does Surge have something that Vital doesn`t? Vital seems more logical in it`s layout to me.

No it’s not, I manually adjusted some peaks after the video was done. Accidentally recorded voice and Daw on one track 😂
