This form is not fast and explosive enough to be Xiao Jia. And the stances are not low and wide enough to be Large Frame which Yang Ban Hou primarily taught. So which form or set of the Yang Ban Hou lineage is this? Forgive me, I'm only familiar with all of Yang Shaohou's disciples lineages (like Gu Lisheng or Gu Luping and Tian Zhaolin and Yang Cheng Fu's Chang Chuan sets passed to inner door disciples, all of which are more explosive than this form. I love how it's not all soft, like the Yang style prevalent today from the Yang Jianhou line. Yan Banhou's style is closer to Chen style, which I like, as it's closer to a realistic martial art with soft and hard, slow and fast elements. I'd like to learn this!
Yang Jianhou lineage is anything but all soft. Look into his adopted son's Tian Zhaolin lineage. Lots of fajing and circles especially in the middle and rare small frames. Yang Cheng Fu is the one who watered it down and softened it for outer door public students. Tian Zhaolin lineage can be learned online from Sifu Sergio. I'm learning Inner Door Old Yang Style from Sifu Liang De Hua online from Master Gu Lisheng (Gu Luping) inner door disciple of both Yang Shaohou and Yang Cheng Fu. The Xiao Jia in this lineage from Yang Shaohou and also the two Chang Chuan forms from Yang Jianhou through Yang Cheng Fu to only inner door students are very explosive. Both of these lineages, Gu Lisheng and Tian Zhaolin, are authentic lineages teaching openly the old secret Neigong and other vital components, way too much to list here. Sifu Liang's Master is Chi Qingsheng. Have fun searching all these Master's forms including Xiao Jia and Chang Chuan. Very powerful and beautiful. Both modern online schools also teach explosive Yang Family Ba Duan Jin (Tian Zhaolin) and Liang Gong Ba Fa (same Neigong but Gu Luping lineage) secret cultivation systems. I'm just over a year into the online program of Sifu Liang De Hua and have learned more authentic Neigong and what truly powers Old Yang style Fajing, than in over 30 years of study with other teachers. See CZcams shorts, full of those "kungfu girl" doing taichi which is total Bs... more like "stage performance" gymnastic with the kungfu label. Super misleading! This one is a real deal taichi, finally. Hope more people can see this and realize what's taichi!
