Is the desire of your heart to be close to God?
Do you long for an intimate relationship with your Creator but He seems elusive? Perhaps it is because
something essential is missing-the fear of the Lord. Don’t let this frighten you. Fearing God is different than
being afraid of God. It’s the key to everything. Holy fear is not a topic you’ll hear much about these days,
but if you want to build a faith that stands strong in troubled times, you cannot afford to ignore it.
In this six-session video Bible study, bestselling author ‪@JohnBevereTV‬ explores more than forty promises in
Scripture given to those who embrace holy fear-rewards such as holiness, wisdom, legacy, confidence,
happiness, and security. He invites you to take a fresh look at what it means to work out your salvation
with fear and trembling. And he shows how approaching God in this way allows you to discover the deeper
relationship with the Lord that your soul longs for and that He desires to have with you.

Proverbs 9:10, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” The Bible says it is fear, we need the fear of the Lord so we can understand we are serving a Holy God not a worldly God we shouldn't fear.

I concur 100%. This is what I feel overwhelmingly. Not that this is a good thing but about 8 years ago I got a tattoo of a beautiful cross with a banner that says,"Fear Nothing but God". And it's meant just as he described it. A few years before that the Holy Spirit got a hold of me and lit a fire inside of me that I never knew before and it's still right there with me every minute of every day. Praise God!! Thank you Jesus 🙏🙏

Dear child of God, God says we are not to make tattoos on our body
      Please read Liviticus 19:28
Our body is the temple where The Precious Holy Spirit of God dwells 1 Cor 6 :19-20

    • @lisajax6765
      @lisajax6765 Před rokem +4

@annanderson1470 you’ve done nothing wrong with the Tattoo you got. The person that commented below telling you to read Leviticus 19:28 does not know how to interpret the Bible and should be careful saying such things to people. That is God speaking only to the Israelites under the ‘old’ covenant. This was to address the Israelites cutting their bodies, their facial hair and marking their bodies as pagans do when they are in mourning of a loved one, to express a connection to them or a ritual to stay bonded to them. The word tattoo came from two Hebrew words translated k’tovet & qa’aqa. Both words ONLY appear in here Leviticus. K’trovet is the root of k-t-b which means to write or engrave. The second qa’aqa is harder to translate but the semantic dictionary best defines it as a marking of the skin by incision as a non verbal sign of mourning.
Nowhere in the NEW TESTAMENT are we forbidden to tattoo our skin, obviously it’s wrong if it’s profane or Satanic, but the other verse the apparently ignorant commenter preached at you with is 1 Cor 6:19 “Do you not know your body is a temple of The Holy Spirit…”.
They must’ve skipped over the previous verses 12-18 😑 which are ALL directly speaking about ‘sexual immorality’.
We must learn to ‘understand’ the context and translations of the Bible before we go offering an even gentle reprimand to anyone Christian or not. Otherwise we misrepresent our Father and His teachings thru Christ Jesus. No one is benefiting from THAT!!
Your tattoo is not a sin. Ignorance is not knowing, but if one is learned to repeat such errors is plain stupidity and that would be a sin to keep using select non prefaced verses to shame someone over something the shame’r doesn’t understand or doesn’t care to understand.
God Bless all and seek to learn His word first then you are in understanding and of accord with The Father to speak it. ✝️🙏🏼❤️

@@lisajax6765 Thank you so very much for this and showing the Hebrew words to clarify it all for me. @@lisajax6765 I have a tattoo but the God of the old testament is the God of the new testament. Look at the root of Tattoo and where it comes from. It was a marking made to remember the dead - that is the root of the markings in the Bible a pagan symbol put on our bodies for a pagan ritual. Do you know that if you get a tattoo - blood letting it creates a soul tie with your tattoo artist? Ask any Satanist about it. We are not under the new covenant to do what we want with our lives and bodies, if we were the 10 commandments would be obsolete. Jesus said in John 14:15-31 GNT. “If you love me, you will obey my commandments. I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, who will stay with you forever. He is the Spirit, who reveals the truth about God. Leviticus may be the old Testament but it also said you are not allowed to sleep with your son, father, mother etc. and that still stands. We cannot filter the word of God to suit us. I will never tell someone not to get a tattoo but to seek the Lord in all you do before you make a decision. Do I want more Tattoos, yes, am I going to get one nope, not because I am going to hell for it but that person doing your Tattoo what are they doing with your blood, your soul tie to them? The Occult is real, having a background linked to that all I can say is be careful and pray about it and let the Holy Spirit tell you what He wants you to do not man.

I told the pastor that day that there was something in me wanting me to worship someone out there. Can we worship now? Now I could not wait even though the church was not open. I recalled that time every day, I long for God. I pray that do not ever let me have peace and joys if I forget him because that how I met him.

I have never read Ecclesiastes and thought of King Solomon as a cynic or pessimistic person. I had to go and check on those scriptures at the beginning before could even watch the rest of the lesson. I have always enjoyed your books and have learned so many things in the past from them. But I don't really believe that's what Solomon was trying to convey. He was right though. The day we die is better than the day of our birth becasue if we're really Kindom minded we look at it as we are going to meet our King of kings our Savior King Jesus. That sounds the way better than this life to me.

My son was raped and molested by a church member ( a woman) from age 11 to 13
Some people in the church sided with the pedophile and treated us badly. Saying things like he was a boy and wanted it. We put that woman in prison for her actions and they hated us for smearing their name. This story is so dark it’s sickens me. Police and magistrate wanted to protect this woman. They also went to the same church. Even though my faith is in God not man we left the church. I haven’t been able to get the stance to go back to a different one.

Fear God and Keep His Commandments is man's all, yet we have a church preaching that we can't keep His commandments, that's legalistic, the law is bondage, we are free in Christ, we are under grace now, so we don't need to obey the law. This is the problem!! I pray we will realize that God has always wanted our obedience to His law, but out of love! Church, I pray we will see our errors and come back to His commandments, keep His Sabbath, His Holy Feasts, and begin to love what He loves and hate what He hates! Keeping the biblical 7th day sabbath is NOT legalistic, unless I teach that you MUST keep it in order to be saved. No, your salvation is in Jesus, but you keep His Sabbath because you love Him and you do His behavior. Jesus told us He was the Lord of the Sabbath, not Sunday! We are not free to chose any day we want to worship Him, and yes our rest is in Jesus, but the depth of the Sabbath is very rich in treasure. Jesus tells us that it was made for mankind, not just Jews! In Isaiah 66 we are told that when the new heavens and the new earth are upon us, that for one Sabbath to another we will come to worship Him!! The fear of the Lord will drive you to obedience, but not for your salvation, you will obey because you WANT to do what pleases Him.
Want to know the REAL gospel message?? God created us to obey Him, but our first parents disobeyed and plunged the human race into a fallen nature. We inherited that from them! Roman 8:7 tells us our carnal minds are at enmity against God, why?? Because we are not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can we be!! The church has made God's law the problem by teaching it has been done away with, we are freed from the law, we are under grace now, Jesus nailed the law to the tree, the law was for the Jews, the law is Old Covenant and we are in the New Covenant, take your pick!! The problem is not, never has been, and never will be God's law! The problem is our fallen natures! In our fallen nature it is impossible to walk out the law, so God fixes the problem!! He sends His son, who walks out the law perfectly in the flesh!! Jesus did this, not so we don't have to, but as an example for us! We are now represented in Jesus, no longer Adam. And here is the beauty, the world condemned an innocent man to death. Want to know why Jesus resurrected from the dead?? Because the grave could not hold Him, it literally HAD to release Him! Why?? Because the wages of sin is death. What is sin?? 1 John 3:4 tells us that sin is lawlessness, or breaking the commandments! Therefore, the grave HAD to release Him!! It could not hold Him there because He was without sin!! He NEVER broke God's law!! And here is the gospel, He imparts His spirit to us and His spirit gives us the POWER to obey!! God changes people!! He will change you from one who disobeys by nature, into someone who WANTS to obey out of love!! God is in the people changing business!! This is why Paul tells us in Rom. 7:25 that he has been delivered from his body of death(sinful nature) and that now He serves the law of God with his mind! But, in HIS FLESH(sinful nature), he serves the law of sin!! Our flesh is the problem, not God's law!! In the new covenant, according to Jer. 31:33 God writes His law on our hearts and puts it in our minds!! Grace and law go together, they are NOT mutually exclusive to one another! In fact, the bible teaches that grace is only for those who walk in obedience to His law! Ps. 103:17, 18. Mercy(grace) is of the LORD on those how fear Him and keep His commandments!!! 1 John 3:7 tells us we practice righteousness. Ps. 119: 172 tells us God's law is righteousness! When you practice something, you will make mistakes as you learn to walk in obedience. This is where grace comes in! We NEED God's grace as we learn to walk in His law!! I pray the church will wake up, fear God, and begin to keep His commandments!!!

  • @Kingdom_ofChrist

I love this topic and the way John is dealing with it, but……Does God really love the sinner? Is God really separating the human and his deeds. So even do some one is a pedofile and abuses kids to destroy their lives, GOD LOVES THESE SINNERS? Beware!!!!! God so loved the world that He gave his own begotten son to restore His creation in a new heaven and earth. Read the psalms and the old testament testimony about His chosen people and see how God is dealing with the godless men and women when they did not obbey His will. I think that God can only love the people who saw their own godless lives and repented from their sins to become people that feare Him! As long as we are addicted to sin and dwelling in a sinfull life, God cannot love us because He is HOLY, only if we repent and get born again we go back to our initial destination to become the people of the Lord! So, God so loved THE WORLD, not the SINNERS!
