  • The best way to explain this is, “This switch can be whatever you want it to be, but if you push AUTO we shall take over”.

The auto light is for auto climate control. When on, the AC and heater will turn on and off by itself according to what temp you set it to. Let's say you set it to 70. If the temp in the car goes up to 75, then the AC comes on. If the temp drops to 65, then the heater comes on. The AC button is there for you to turn it on when you want to.

I really think you would enjoy the EX35 .

Great explanation, I wish they didnt make this a dummy light and kept the way your FX 50 operated. Also per service manual for guys with advanced climate if auto recirculation is on AC compressor is ON regardless of AC status light or if you just turned AC off.

In a way, I have come to appreciate the light being a dummy light. It usually made my skin crawl a little to see people fiddle with the AC button and end up throwing the settings off.

I feel like with HVAC systems, making it foolproof is better for all of us.
Recently, I was in a vehicle with someone rolling their windows down in the highway during winter because "it's too hot". I had to teach this man how to use an automatic system. Took a lot of convincing though 😂

My G35 2008 sedan ac compressor does not click on anymore in this hot summer, could it be the ambient temperature sensor? Ac refrigerant levels are good, just stopped working randomly today. Hot air works, just not blowing cold at all

I never know when my ac is on it off so I press the ac button on then off again then after that the ac compressor is off

For what kind of situations do you usually turn your compressor off?

@@EdBwoy I always turn it off all the time. I don't use my ac unless I really can't see. Even if it's raining I will Crack the window and push up my sunroof 2 clear the window or keep it clear of fog. Ac compressor reduces gad mileage and unlocks the tq converter at 25mph when your foot is off the pedal and I hat having 2 re-lock the tq converter all the time driving around in the city. If you use the defroster button that points the air towards the windshield it also turns on your compressor. Using the remote start also turns on your compressor automatically. I use the outside air most of the time and use the fan from there but I alway double tap the ac button 2 make sure the ac is off!! I've had my car turn the ac compressor on even when not using the auto function with regular fan use so I make sure.

@@occckid123 Opening the windows even slightly or, even worse, using the sunroof increases your gas mileage more than almost anything. It might not be reflected in the computerized calculation of your mileage but messing with aerodynamics is just about the worst thing you can do for your mileage except for flooring it.

@@automotivetv9861 I mainly review vehicles that I own. Sometimes I have given first impressions on other cars when I have them as a rental (like my Q50 review), but as busy as I am, I rarely go out of my way looking for cars just to make content on.

@@automotivetv9861 I don't know why you think those are more important, or offer more bang for your buck, but this all depends on the driver and what their needs are.
For people looking for handling and aftermarket support, the G is a decent platform to look at. But for people who value luxury and refinement more, neither the G37 nor the G35 specifically is a strong candidate
