    Any time the Ecm is replaced, the keys will need to be programmed! Just keep in mind when you get used parts you run the risk of them not working and can cost you more money in the end.

    @FixyourNissan  Před 11 lety +1

    The only thing you would need a dealer for is programming of all the keys after you change the Ecm. Any Nissan Dealer as well as a Infiniti dealer can do that for you.
    But if your handy, that would be the only thing you would need the dealer to do and at the same time, I would let them do the idle relearn for you so you know it's good!

    Very good information

  • @FixyourNissan
    @FixyourNissan  Před 11 lety

    Yeah, you need to program the keys. As far as the Ecm part number as long as you get the right one it should work. That bulletin for the Ecm reprogram is for a Park or Reverse issue. Even though there may be a update for the Ecm, it doesn't mean you have to do it. That would be up to you.

    ok so youre saying that the keys i have will need to be programmed to the replacement computer...i dont have to worry about the receiver box thing near the ignition?...i would need to know the v.i.n. of the car the replacement computer came from?..or would they know already by hooking up a scan tool?...........the reason i have so many questions is because this guy needed a re-flash of his computer to cure a problem diagnosed as ITB00-006a and the ;local nissn dealer said only infinity can do it

    I have a friend with the same issue...2000 i30 code po505..he wants me to install a used computer and a new (or used if he can find one) iac....my question is whether it can be done ...im pretty sure i can do a manual procedure idle relearn...but im worried about the key security...we have a nissan dealership that refuses to do work on infinity..nearest infinity dealer is a 5 hour tow ...what do you think?

    Why didn't you just replace the plastic IAC?

    • @FixyourNissan
      @FixyourNissan  Před 9 lety +3

      +Ron K When you buy the IAC from the dealer, you get that whole housing with a new gasket. The gasket is what fails over time causing the IAC to fail and take out the Ecm.

      Thanks for your replies to this. I have a 2000 maxima, and a few months back it gave this p0505 code. The rpms would drop to around 300rpm if i didnt give it a little gas at stops and such. It also started doing this thing when I put it into park it would rev up to around 1500rpm then drop back to 800ish then back up in fast cycles but would stop if i put it into gear. I checked the iac and it was bad (it wouldnt move iac sensor tip up and down when I put the key in the on position). I tested with one i got at a pullapart for 10 bucks and it worked fine. So I installed it and it worked for like two months and now doing the same thing again. I cleaned my throttle body and out behind the sensor in the metal cavity it attaches to before installation as well. Now same problem although its not displacing a "engine service" light on the dash. I took it to autozone to get the codes ran but they dont have the kind that can read internal codes if the check engine light isnt on. Im about to check it again now but would love to know your thoughts before I do anything stupid. Thanks for all the helpful tips and videos.

    My 2001 infiniti i30 engine light is on and when the engine is hot and come to a stop or a intersection, my RPMS drops and the engines shakes and almost stalls. After driving it for 20 minutes it works fines. I recently replaced the ignition coils and crankshaft sensors. I'm going to take it tomorrow and run codes on it.

  • @FixyourNissan
    @FixyourNissan  Před 11 lety

    If you got the code from a code reader, it's most likely reading it wrong, and you have the P0505 issue. Replacing just the IAC is not going to correct your problem. Both will need to be replaced I am afraid.

    Hi I have a 2001 Nissan Maxima v6- 3.0L - DOCH- I have a diagnostic trouble code P0505 (idle air control system) my old part was not working properly and it was turning off all times. I order a new position sensor (not original Nissan part) when received the new part I measured the resistance across IAC terminals, they were all equal results. I installed it and the car work fine and it runs good but I still have the check engine light on. I erase the code with my scanner but still come back on. What do you think could be the problems? Is it a bad IAC sensor? please help. thank you.

    Hi, would you know what would cause a 2001 maxima to do this
    after I replaced both the IACV, had ECM fixed (burn’t chips from IACV failing)
    and replaced the TPS. Idle’s fine but when car shifts from 1st to 2nd
    & 2nd to 3rd the rpm’s will go from 2,000 to 1,500
    (normal) but then suddenly jump to 2,000 rpm and sometimes higher. Also when
    the car in in park and I try to rev it at 1,500 rmp it will constantly bounce
    between 1,500 and 2,000 rpm’s. I was told by a local mechanic that the ECM may
    need a re-learn or flash and to go to the dealer $$$$$. Would you know if a
    re-learn is typically needed and is it something I can do? If so would you have
    any video links to it? Thanks a bunch!

    • @FixyourNissan
      @FixyourNissan  Před 4 lety +1

      The only time this could really happen is if the Ecm is not fixed right. The TPS never need to be replaced. I don't know why everyone tries replacing that.

      @@FixyourNissan Good Afternoon, could I have replaced it with a bad IACV? I used the Intermotor from AA and the OE was the Hitachi, should I try Hitachi. I brought it to a dealer and they looked at it for a few hours did a relearn and said my tranny is bad and I need a new one. I then brought it to a tranny place and they said the tranny is fine and they think it's electrical (at the time I didn’t know the problem only occurred when the tranny was under no load so they could not get it to shift weird. It idles great, runs great and no codes or check engine light on. The issue is when cold or warm it will shift into 2nd gear fine, but only when I drive really slow and have no torque it, it shifts from 2nd to 3rd bad and the rpms shoot right up like it’s in neutral and I usually just let off the gas and let it shift into ger. I do notice from 3rd to 4th when I drive slow and with no load on tranny it will float a little on the rpms for a few seconds before finally shifting (not normal). When I drive faster or when I’m going up a hill it shifts fine in all gears. Cleaned all connections and MAFS (no improvement). Did the relearn by key for ACEL peddle, Throttle Valve & IACV…and no improvement. What would you recommend my next move is? I'm thinking move the IACV around to see if it effects shifting then either go to another dealer or replace the IACV with the Hitachi or pull the ECM to see if any chips are burnt? Thanks!!

    I just had the intake manifold gasket replaced on my 2000 maxima because it kept stalling when stopped. Now it's fixed, but I got the p0505 code for the IAC. I noticed that the idle pulses up and down around 1000 rpm. Should I be concerned and what should I do?

    • @FixyourNissan
      @FixyourNissan  Před rokem

      I would be, since Ecm's are no longer available. I would address this issue right away and hope the IAC is not internally shorted to cause the typical IAC/ECM issue
