Here's the thing: most people don't care about lyricism, they care about sound and a catchy hook. Blues Traveler did a whole song about it, and it was a huge hit that _nobody_ even realized was directly insulting them for liking it.
I'm a fiction writer and this is painfully true. You see so many just terrible books praised and some of the best you've ever seen are left unknown. When an author puts an incredible amount of work into their story, representing a character's situation right, arcs, pacing, dialogues, oftentimes they get written off as "too serious" or something similar. I hate that when you finally learn to metaphorically cook good meals, you realize most people don't actually want it and rather go for junk food at the corner of the street.
@@trebaneconapise7793 honestly, good novels and incredible authors are underrated. I don't read much novels and all, cuz honestly, I cannot right now. But out of all I've read, I can say, the good ones are underrated and the ones with a basic storyline, no plot twists to keep you on the edge are popular because it has that cute romance. Even movies. These days, especially Hollywood and Bollywood (Yeah, I'm an Indian) movies don't even have a storyline. It's all about a guy falling in love with a girl, and how the 'villian' is the father.
