My camp has 60 International staff and 200 america staff I’m so nervous but I absolutely cannot wait for summer camp, I fly on June 13th and I’ve already bought everything I need. Thanks for the videos they’ve helped me a lot and have helped settle my mums nerves too about me going out there 😭😂
My camp actually does do breathalyser tests and drug testing throughout, but they’ve told us in advance so they’re just ensuring we can all come back from nights off able to look after the kids
I am teaching gymnastics too and was just wondering how difficult it is . I used to help out at a club but it was quite basic skills and am worried I might not be good enough . So I was wondering did they give you any extra training before and were all the other staff members very experienced ?
Hey! That’s absolutely fine don’t worry! Some of the girls who coach at my camp haven’t ever coached at all they just have experience doing gymnastics, don’t worry though you’ll get all the appropriate training needed! X
Oh my goodness what a good idea bringing hay fever/antihistamine tablets for bug bites! I am quite prone to them as well and I’ve lived in a big city for so long now so generally haven’t had to deal with it much for a few years, so the most nervous just about being in the bush as my camp is quite rural and bitten to death, like I’ll be fine it’s just very annoying and irritating lol so good idea to ease it! Honestly every-time I watch your videos you mention something helpful I haven’t thought about for me to add to my list so yesss keep posting I’m so keen for the prep video lol, I’m usually a religious lash extension girl but I decided to get them off as I’m going travelling after the US as well until the end of the year so jealous 😭 I’m just getting a lift and tint on Friday and that’s basically all I’m got to do, also that your not working omg I have my last day tomorrow then fly out next Monday now So exciting so close now

'its not like theres 10 internationals and hundreds of american staff' my camp has 10 internationals and 300 staff total. im not worried about the ratio, i just found it funny how your worst case scenario is what im doing
As a general councillor are you supposed to get fully involved with the kids, like proper socialising and joining in with their activities? Or do they just guide them through the camp and make sure everything is running smooth?
Kind of both tbh! Certain activities you’d be expected to get involved and joining in like swimming and things like that, but other activities you’re more there to just support if needed, things like outdoor adventure, cooking etc
Yes of course! At my camp we have swim tests but there’s people that aren’t comfortable swimming that don’t do them, but this means they can’t get in the water at any point in the summer for safety reasons x

I went to a camp called Tyler hill! I would definitely recommend bunac, they have some of the lowest fees and highest wages x
