Discovered the Hidden Gem of French Cuisine in NYC: @chezfrancis_nyc
Tucked away in the heart of New York City, Chez Francis is a delightful classic French restaurant located at 411 Park Avenue South. Our recent brunch experience felt like a culinary journey to France, making it a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic French cuisine.
Our meal began with a selection of exquisite cocktails. I enjoyed the Deviation, a delightful mix of tequila, Crème de Cassis, lemon, lavender syrup, and egg whites, while my husband savored A Clockwork Orange, featuring Yamazaki Toki whisky, triple sec, Aperol, lemon, orange, chocolate, and cherry bitters.
For appetizers, we indulged in the Tarte Flambée Traditionnelle, a mouthwatering combination of lardon, onions, and crème fraîche. This "French pizza" was so delectable that I would return just for this dish. We also tried the FROG LEGS "ESCOFFIER," perfectly fried and served with haricots verts, cauliflowers, and a rich Grenobloise sauce. A French meal wouldn’t be complete without the classic SOUPE A L'OIGNON GRATINÉE, a hearty French onion soup topped with Gruyère and Comté cheese, and brioche.
Our main courses were equally impressive. The FRANCIS' STEAK FRITES featured a perfectly grilled bavette steak served with crispy pommes frites, watercress, and a savory Café de Paris sauce. The caramelized Brussels sprouts on the side were a delicious complement. We also savored the CROQUE MADAME, a divine blend of smoked black forest ham, Gruyère, béchamel, and a perfectly cooked egg.
We concluded our brunch with decadent desserts. The CRÈME BRÛLÉE, with its velvety vanilla custard and crisp brown sugar topping, was heavenly, and the LES PROFITEROLES, served with vanilla ice cream, berries, and chocolate sauce, provided the perfect sweet finish.
We really loved this place and highly recommended it for anyone seeking the best in classic French cuisine. Bon appétit!
