Word of advice, it’s mainly for courtesy to other drives, if you’re going to take a spot designed for a tractor trailer, make sure that when you back into the spot to park evenly with the nose of your truck lined up with all others in line so that other drivers don’t waste their time driving into the lot and finding out that the spot was occupied already. Some drivers get REALLY testy about that and I might also add that by not doing this, someone may mess with your vehicle while you’re not near it... I’ve seen guys actually put dimes or pennies between the glad-hand couplers to prevent air buildup in the trailer break chambers for such stupid crap but it’s better to just maintain courtesy when out there. Also, NEVER, stop at the flying J outside of Chicago between Chicago and Gary Indiana. That is a VERY dangerous place and unless you were willing to take a risk as an owner operator as I was way back in the earlier 00’s and Cary a gun on you it would be much better to just stay away from all that shit altogether. A lot of loads have been hi jacked there and several drivers have been killed there. I carried a gun and I still wasn’t willing to ever risk the stop. I’d rather have saved up enough hours to drive several miles past and find somewhere I knew I could be more safe. I was out there for several years and still remember lots of places you shouldn’t stop at...
dont ever have walmart "techs" change your oil.they strip oil pans using the impact on the bolts. It was a costly lesson. just my opinion and experience twice tho.great videos buddy.

Walmart will change the oil for like $20 if you get your oil and filter... also it's about $36 for lifetime balance and rotation of tires so when they change the oil you can get it balance and rotates... all the preventative maintenance it's well worth it... keep up the good work bud.
If my only choice for parking, I always go inside and ask to talk with the manager on duty to ask about parking my tractor-trailer on their lot and ask if there is a preferred area where they prefer I park. The rock incident is an example of why we're being turned away for parking at the Walmarts.
The service advisor at Walmart was an amateur. I used to run a repair shop and my goal was for each bay to make me $1,000.00 per day. I couldn't afford to do your oil change, if you had called me i would just hang up on you. I also drove a pro stock car, it was boring.
true story. My cousin took some medication and didn't think it was working so she went to a different doctor and got some different meds. Took those too. next think we get a call from the cops. She took her SUV to Walmart loaded up a cart about four times and unloaded in her SUV . Didn't pay for a thing and she only got caught because security saw her struggling to load something and asked staff to go help her. At least walmart was nice about it and she is now married to the responding officer.

Because My Pickup has a car on the bed, and would be to HEAVY. So I when to DISCOUNT TIRE, they installed my tires, NO problems, NO BITCHING. THANKS DISCOUNT TIRE. Truckerpath app.. tells you small name truck stops, as well as your pilot, ta, loves, rest areas, walmarts, truck parking, weigh stations. Also i use google satelite and street view so i can see how places are setup.. sometimes it doesnt work cause satelite and street views arent updated weekly or monthly for that matter. Good info on vids.
Don’t park too far back. Park nose even with other trucks. That way truckers can spot your truck from distance and be aware that the spot is not available from distance.

A Swift driver hung up on a rock like that at a Walmart in Denver. They called the terminal and told him he had a rock between has duals. At the terminal they thought you just meant he had a fist-sized rock wedged between his 2 tires on one side oh, so they suggested he just drive on over to the terminal and they would get it fixed. So the driver drives back to the terminal where they find that his two axles on the trailer are sitting on the rock with the tires not touching the ground. Mister policeman followed the trail from Walmart to the terminal and into the shop, where he wrote the citation. It's idiots like that that keep the rest of us from being able to park at Walmart as readily as we used to be able to.
I'd be changing the oil and doing all the maintenance either myself, or Ford dealer-only. You don't want Wal-Mart or any jiffy lube type place screwing up your ride. It's worth a few extra dollars to get it serviced at a dealer while on the road and get it done right the 1st time. Summit is laid out about the same in GA. Hang in there with it man, I think you'll do fine, just consider or budget for a 40 ft trailer.

Checkout Geno's garage no spill kit. Won't splash when changing oil. Additionally checkout pac-brakes oil filter relocation kit. Moves it to up front under sway bar. I change my own but I have a 5500. Easy access for me unlike 3500-2500's
Last spring we overnighted the motorhome twice in a MT Walmart lot that was posted "no overnight parking", though the first time we didn't see the signs. Others were doing the same and I saw a cop (while walking the dog) make a pass through the lot around midnight or so but no parking tickets were written nor rousting by management or cops to leave. Lucked out.
Another place that you may want to consider stopping at is a KOA campground if one is nearby. They have clean bathrooms/showers, laundry, and you should even be able to get a pull-through parking spot. Most also have rental cabins.

Dealing with brokers,shippers and dispatchers is like trading toys or cards when your a kid. There all trying to screw you out of your better stuff and lying to you about how much there crap is worth or how much fun they have with it and their friends help. So don’t rely on other drivers for the same company, they might be getting the gravy and tell you your doing good. You’ll never know everything, things change to rapidly in this biz. If you know your laws so the dispatcher can’t force you to do something illegal and your not gonna get a ticket for anything foreseeable,your doing good. Buy enough tools and spare parts to get your self off the side of the road cause it might be hours to get towed and days for diagnosing and parts.
Uncle Pacos actually truckerpath app does tell you how many spots available even at Walmart. Also reading the reviews will help but it’s also a good idea to call ahead. You can always park at Lowe’s and Home Depot.

That's weird. Cause Walmart is where I buy my diesel oil for my 3500. It was the same brand you got at Summit Racing. Might not carry it everywhere. Be safe.
To be a truck driver it takes a CDL, you have to pass a Knowledge Test, and take a road test... that takes time and a lot of money... then you become a company driver or a owner operator or a lease driver!

That driver should not be on the road. Consider how far up over the curb he had to drive to get that stone inside his duals, against the axle. And then to drag it that far. He had to know he hit something. Most Walmart's allow truck parking. They want your business. Those that don't is because of city or local ordinance. And then you can't park anywhere, Lowe's, Home Depot, Planet Fitness, anywhere.
do you use "trucker path"? It will show you were the truck stops are with parking. There is a large TA in Terrell TX. I unloaded and loaded in that city several times.
Quit being so cheap go get a room, what are you homeless 2 people sleeping in a crew cab pick up truck come out to play with the big boys. The motel is a write off you tell the motel that ur a pick up with a trailer you probably park at the motel it's not like ur driving a 65 plus foot long semi! Also if your not sure about parking at a Walmart call the store ask for the manager on duty ask for permission and if the say yes ask for their name in case someone questions you that's how I do it and it works for me and if they allow overnight parking ask them where they would prefer for you to park at in the lot. Don't just do it and even if there other trucks there still call.

When your running interstate miles with your truck you can go 12,000 miles between oil changes. All my dodges with Cummins I run 12,000 between oil changes. Because just think of it like this, if that motor was in a f650 straight truck they would recommend a oil change every 12,000 miles but if the same motor is in a pickup they say change it every 3,500 miles and that straight truck is ran harder than a pickup truck is!!
My cousin said Wal-Mart don't like some truckers parking in there lots because of pee pee bottles being left by many drivers that stay overnight at some of the stores 😕around the States..

Years ago a 18 wheeler was driving into a porn shop that had boulders like that by their entrance & exit. It was winter & the driver's rig skidded on entrance, going over one of the boulders. It got stuck between the drive axles. He drove round the building then exited going via frontage road to the interstate then a few miles north before pulling over because his fuel lines were ripped off and drained his fuel. The fool said he just hit it, that if fell off a dump truck. Then he was complaining about the sinful porn shops. That caught attention so a short drive resulted ion seeing the error of his ways.
It's pronounced Terrel, like Carol with a T. The last time I was in that Summit store they had a beautiful 1959 Impala on that carousel inside the front door.
hardrock t acts really nice and helpful, but beware, he left my driver in New jersey for 4 days, then got him a load to indiana and quit taking his calls for two days and i had to get him a load home. No biggy, So, he fired us and started loading the 5% paying guys and left us 4% paying guys out on the street. That ain't what pissed me off, i asked him in a email if he invoiced my loads and he answered two days later in a email, "yes sir." Come to find out a month later he never invoiced any of my 5 loads he dispatched for us.
We are not your accountant and your driver was very difficult and dropped loads and turned down loads that was offered so if you have a problem come to us and we handle it or comment on our channel so this can be addressed. Out of 30 drivers you are the only one with a problem?
don't go to walmart i drove hotshot also they first didn't out plug in right messed up oil filter drove 100 miles loaded and engine blow all the oil ran out to 4 months to get a responce from walmart and still fighting them for the replacement motor that cost me 23000.00 even when they said it was their fault

Big semi trucks are not that maneuverable... it's quite common to see these concrete post bent over... I once saw a semi trailers trailer tire perched up on a big rock like that, at a shippers receivers Warehouse!

It's the trailer that is a "semi" not the truck. The trailer is called a semi trailer because it has no supporting axle on the front end, a full trailer has axles on both ends.
Parking is bad between San Antonio and Austin really hardly anything and always packed crazy. I try to make it through in one shot between Laredo and Dallas. Don't park at the Shell on I 35 north of 635 i forgot what exit that is with the Taco Casa...like 1 hour parking limit...got woken up overnight and was made to leave along with other people... Couldnt see any signs in the dark and I had never stopped there before just needed parking and saw other trucks there...yup I assumed but I won't ever spend a penny there.

Checkout Geno's garage no spill kit. Won't splash when changing oil. Additionally checkout pac-brakes oil filter relocation kit. Moves it to up front under sway bar. I change my own but I have a 5500. Easy access for me unlike 3500-2500's
Last spring we overnighted the motorhome twice in a MT Walmart lot that was posted "no overnight parking", though the first time we didn't see the signs. Others were doing the same and I saw a cop (while walking the dog) make a pass through the lot around midnight or so but no parking tickets were written nor rousting by management or cops to leave. Lucked out.
Another place that you may want to consider stopping at is a KOA campground if one is nearby. They have clean bathrooms/showers, laundry, and you should even be able to get a pull-through parking spot. Most also have rental cabins.

I listened to your vid on your new truck and all the backfeed chatter you received...I know every decision is usually determined by money, that said I think a single axel semi glider with a sleeper would be the way to go.
Aaa dont forget fuel milage. And insurence. Also if you have an axle lift or chain up when dead head higher speed limit in some states. Their a load for evry truck. Im shure theirs more. ☺
Dealing with brokers,shippers and dispatchers is like trading toys or cards when your a kid. There all trying to screw you out of your better stuff and lying to you about how much there crap is worth or how much fun they have with it and their friends help. So don’t rely on other drivers for the same company, they might be getting the gravy and tell you your doing good. You’ll never know everything, things change to rapidly in this biz. If you know your laws so the dispatcher can’t force you to do something illegal and your not gonna get a ticket for anything foreseeable,your doing good. Buy enough tools and spare parts to get your self off the side of the road cause it might be hours to get towed and days for diagnosing and parts.
Have you got the app called TruckerPath? It’s free and pretty good.
TruckerPath doesn’t tell you which Walmarts have truck parking or not. Although the app is handing to let you know where truckstops & rest areas are.
Uncle Pacos actually truckerpath app does tell you how many spots available even at Walmart. Also reading the reviews will help but it’s also a good idea to call ahead. You can always park at Lowe’s and Home Depot.

To be a truck driver it takes a CDL, you have to pass a Knowledge Test, and take a road test... that takes time and a lot of money... then you become a company driver or a owner operator or a lease driver!
You know they have forklifts inside that can move that thing out of the middle of the parking lot.

That driver should not be on the road. Consider how far up over the curb he had to drive to get that stone inside his duals, against the axle. And then to drag it that far. He had to know he hit something.
Most Walmart's allow truck parking. They want your business. Those that don't is because of city or local ordinance. And then you can't park anywhere, Lowe's, Home Depot, Planet Fitness, anywhere.

The motel is a write off you tell the motel that ur a pick up with a trailer you probably park at the motel it's not like ur driving a 65 plus foot long semi! Also if your not sure about parking at a Walmart call the store ask for the manager on duty ask for permission and if the say yes ask for their name in case someone questions you that's how I do it and it works for me and if they allow overnight parking ask them where they would prefer for you to park at in the lot. Don't just do it and even if there other trucks there still call.

Anyone that sells oil must by federal law now (epa) to accept used oil. Walmart. Advance auto ... etc
When your running interstate miles with your truck you can go 12,000 miles between oil changes. All my dodges with Cummins I run 12,000 between oil changes. Because just think of it like this, if that motor was in a f650 straight truck they would recommend a oil change every 12,000 miles but if the same motor is in a pickup they say change it every 3,500 miles and that straight truck is ran harder than a pickup truck is!!

Years ago a 18 wheeler was driving into a porn shop that had boulders like that by their entrance & exit. It was winter & the driver's rig skidded on entrance, going over one of the boulders. It got stuck between the drive axles. He drove round the building then exited going via frontage road to the interstate then a few miles north before pulling over because his fuel lines were ripped off and drained his fuel. The fool said he just hit it, that if fell off a dump truck. Then he was complaining about the sinful porn shops. That caught attention so a short drive resulted ion seeing the error of his ways.
It's pronounced Terrel, like Carol with a T. The last time I was in that Summit store they had a beautiful 1959 Impala on that carousel inside the front door.
hardrock t acts really nice and helpful, but beware, he left my driver in New jersey for 4 days, then got him a load to indiana and quit taking his calls for two days and i had to get him a load home. No biggy, So, he fired us and started loading the 5% paying guys and left us 4% paying guys out on the street. That ain't what pissed me off, i asked him in a email if he invoiced my loads and he answered two days later in a email, "yes sir." Come to find out a month later he never invoiced any of my 5 loads he dispatched for us.

don't go to walmart i drove hotshot also they first didn't out plug in right messed up oil filter drove 100 miles loaded and engine blow all the oil ran out to 4 months to get a responce from walmart and still fighting them for the replacement motor that cost me 23000.00 even when they said it was their fault

Big semi trucks are not that maneuverable... it's quite common to see these concrete post bent over... I once saw a semi trailers trailer tire perched up on a big rock like that, at a shippers receivers Warehouse!

Q/T is not a truck stop they are a fuel stop hell they don't even have shower's or decent food.
Their tornadoes are bigger and cheaper than pilot or loves and the pizza is quick and fresh...I love the big drink selection of coffees and slushies...oh this sounds like a QT commercial lol ..you just never know which ones have truck parking so I stick to the one at exit 405 on I35...I just pull through cause they officially do have a limit for parking which doesnt seem to be enforced given that it is jam packed every which way at night

Give the semi's priority on parking, your truck is able to park more places, looks stupid lined up there, I'd be one pissed off driver to see that shit

But you guys have a pickup you can find parking a lot easier then semi truck and trailers .
It's the trailer that is a "semi" not the truck. The trailer is called a semi trailer because it has no supporting axle on the front end, a full trailer has axles on both ends.

Parking is bad between San Antonio and Austin really hardly anything and always packed crazy. I try to make it through in one shot between Laredo and Dallas. Don't park at the Shell on I 35 north of 635 i forgot what exit that is with the Taco Casa...like 1 hour parking limit...got woken up overnight and was made to leave along with other people... Couldnt see any signs in the dark and I had never stopped there before just needed parking and saw other trucks there...yup I assumed but I won't ever spend a penny there.
