Ashwin added valuable runs in both innings and good wickets in the second. Solid contributions.
Another good test between two competitive teams. Bumrah and Jaiswal were the difference in this one. Already looking forward to the next one. 👍 🏏
If shami joins bumrah at the other end game over for bazball and England in India 😂 then they need to crawl back to reach England by crying 😅😊

Pardon him. Fans in India are crazy and emotional. One of the reason our team looses on big occasions but he's not wrong at some level. With shami, virat and Jadeja in the team, it would've been almost impossible for England to give this sort of challenge in India.@@HuwEvans.
@@usithaprabath first look situation of England on wtc points table l😂😂
I don’t know why no one’s picking on the fact that Eng missed a trick by not playing another seamer. Wood should have played in Vizag.
Or Robinson with the variable bounce ?
@@andrewharris1837 I would go with Wood just for his raw pace...
@@andrewharris1837 You are right Robinson would have been a nightmare with a low bounce at times.
Many visiting teams fall into this trap especially Australia and England . They leave out proven fast bowlers in favour of unproven spinners just because it's India. Of course that policy can work on occasion. As a paceman in India you simply have to bowl fuller so bowled and lbws come into play more. To your point , it was madness that they played just a single seamer!
There was not much offered in the pitch for the pacers to be honest if you observe the pitch. It was shear skill of Jimmy and Bumrah to produce those wickets with reverse swing & also their immacular lengths.
Bumrah to Pope - that yorker is rarest sight with two stumps flying in different directions. Uff… pure class
There is no one I would rather listen to than Nasser Hussain, when it comes to cricket. His knowledge, his articulation, and the fact the he is not beset with some of the biases that almost all other commentators are, makes him the very best in his current profession.
Could say the same about athers
To say Nasser Hussain is unbiased is like saying the sun rises in the West
@@echochamber8350 Nasser is unbiased in his commentary, and he is a proper England cricket fan. People think it's impossible to be both but it really isn't.
Although to be fair, if anyone sees Gavaskar and Sehwag doing commentary day in and day out, they would naturally think it's impossible to be a true cricket fan and an Indian cricket fan at the same time.
Bumrah was the difference from a bowling perspective, along with Ashwin. No one realistic expected England to chase that down. It's a mark of this new team that we love to dream with them, because they're capable of all kinds of things. I do hope England will reflect on their middle order and in particular how to help Joe Root find his pacing again . He used to be the master of rotating the strike, regular singles, building a patient and brilliant innings. Now he seems to come out swinging like it's his last chance saloon. If he plays his natural game he'd be dangerous in this McCullum side. As for Bairstow, I'll get kicked for this but I'd rather have Brook or Lawrence out there getting time in the crease.
I hope you’re not “the mark wood” lol
Hehe I could well be@@GK-nq3co lad. But it's CZcams, so who knows
You can yourself advice him personally in the dressing room why are you shitting here in comments

Sometimes in sport, both teams can walk off the field with their head held high completely independent of the outcome of the game. Both team were in, both played well. Bring on the next, cannot wait this 15 days break.
Well played India, you guys were the better team
Well played England as well, they looked the side who dominated the home team most of the time with their aggressive approach.
@@PrakashChandra766England was never in the match, conceding 170+ runs in the first inning , and losing by 100+ runs with in 4 days is it domination , in the first test India dominated 9 sessions, fared badly in 2 sessions and lost the match narrowly, that is not going to be happening in forth coming tests specially after the return of Kohli, jadeja, k l,if shami is fit than no body can save England in remaining tests ,how ever it will be 4=1 in India's favour
Have to appreciate where it's due though, Yes the pitches are good, specially the one in Vizag, be it modern day ICT's weakness of playing spin which was exposed by Okeefe or Khunemen or Hartley or whatever, when people were saying The way England's playing is giving new lease of life to Test cricket, many of us disagreed saying bringing T20 style and destroying Tests but having seen at our home, giving hell of a fight for home team to protect its 12 year fortress all goes to the way England's been batting and on field, captaincy of Ben stokes, man 🙌🏻

India, Aus and England are the countries that bring back the glory of test cricket.. More test matches should be played in between them.
New Zealand too
Frankly, Ind is making this series closer than it should be. They had no business losing the first test after taking a huge lead, and there was no reason Eng should have even had a sniff of a chance in the 2nd test after such a big first innings lead. The Ind batting has been letting them down. If Virat and KL come back for the next test, replacing Patidar and Iyer, that will definitely help solidify the batting. Also, I genuinely thing Mukesh Kumar is useless in conditions like this. There is no conventional swing, he doesn't have the skills for reverse, no pace, and no consistency in line and length. They didn't use Siraj much in the first test either. If they don't have a seamer that they can reliably go to, might as well play a Washington Sundar, who brings depth to the batting. Right now Ind have three ducks after number 8.
Absolutely you are spot ON. Our skipper was so relax when Olie Pope was batting in Hyderabad. Didn’t like his approach when he was chasing that 232 target. It was easy target to chase down on that pitch.
Exactly, Rohit's captaincy has been very mediocre in this series. Also, I still can't understand why was Mukesh part of 2nd test
I think this is the weakest test team in India in 2nd match, I feel India lacks some intensity(which was awesome to see in kohli era) , however some individual performance saved India. When virat will return he will being intensity with him , looking forward to seeing kohli again.
Virat might be on paternity leave mostly he will be back b in ipl not sure of return for 3rth test as per team news.
We lost under him last time
Too.. we struggled in that series too.. it was just Rohit and Ashwin pant with bat. And Axar Ashwin with the ball
@@singhdeepsandhu9350Virat is better captain than rohit that's fact
Despite Bazball, England seemed resigned and played that 4th innings like a net practice. They seemed to take refuge in the fact that they are her to entertain and that stringing big partnerships to chase a target of 399 which would require application was never something they could pursue. Pope’s application where Ashwin’s bounce never merited that shot even when the line and angle was predictable, Root’s mindless slogging and Stokes’s disinterest to put in everything to get to the other end - said a lot about how England left it to luck.
Identical to 2021.. Eng won one and then lose the rest.

Naseer is spot on. Ind batting can't keep giving this England team n Stokes sniffs by easy wickets. India must put opposition batting in more pressure, let them doubt their own ultra positivity.
The best two analysts in the game; thank you so much for your brains and articulacy …so much value added
Even tho Bumrah cleaned him up this test, pope imo had a solid way of playing Bumrah in Hyderabad by planting his back foot on off stump and having an open stance to he was always playing into the ball w his bat and taking lbw out of it
Would be nice to see England actually get 'ahead' in the game. A first innings lead would be a good start
Perfect Test Match. Good wicket, balance between bat and ball and skill being tested irrespective of the surface. Need more wickets like this for the game to have a level playing field🙌

Spot on by the Goff & KP & J.Agnew on Talksports.
Stokes is the co-GOAT skipper with Brierley Vaughan & Waugh. His knee must be looked after well to ensure he skippers until age 45. Look how Ben led 2 teens (bash & reh) & tall tom to play like spin wizards. He is still getting lots of victory juice out the Swing King Jimmy who will also play until 45. 3-2 England win series & then onto winning 5 ashes in a row. Stokes has turned average pope into a top bat. The pope of runs. Wot a skipper. Dont let him ever bowl again. Save that knee. & Stokes has gained huge good luck karma 4 future series wins by upholding the spirit of cricket. Its what makes cricket special.

As we look back at the concluded second test, which we won, I can't help but say with conviction that we won because of Bumrah. On decent wickets that call for a lot of guile and an attacking mindset from our spinners, they were found wanting. Whenever our spinners were attacked with gusto by the English batsmen, Rohit Sharma had to fall back on Bumrah to provide us the breakthroughs. Of the 40 English wickets that fell across the two tests, Bumrah has accounted for 16 wickets, a staggering 40%. Had the English batsmen played a cat and mouse game with our spinners, they would have run us even close, and not lost by 106 runs, or even pulled off an improbable win. Given this scenario at the end of two tests, I am surprised that the England team is heading off to Abu Dabhi for rest, and being with their families. I feel that you need to retain your competitive edge, battle readiness, and keep the heat of battle within you to push your opponents harder in the battles ahead. The England team, by heading off to Abu Dabhi, may just have taken their foot off the pedal. If Kohli and Rahul return for the third test, it will be a stronger Indian batting line up that the English bowlers will be up against. The decision to head off to Abu Dabhi could potentially boomerang on England.
I don’t ‘get it’ either. India is a special place to tour and there are plenty of places where they could relax and enjoy the ‘vibe’.
I’d be off to Simla (or Ladakh) or somewhere in The Dekkan, or back-woods Orissa, or Cochin, or Ajmer (or Udaipur)…
Ha! I’m missing India. 😎

Love hearing Athers and Nass each time
As an Indian first time in last decade I am seeing any visiting team giving us real fight in test cricket is this English team, in 2017 Aussies also gave us little fight to some extent, Although I am a big ben fan and have loved his tactics in captaincy but I think he has gone wrong a bit in batting whenever ben comes to bat he is just very slow in first 50 bowls which he faces and till that time poms are 7 and 8 down and then he suddenly goes from 1st gear to 5th gear I think he can be a bit more positive in his batting from start just liker other English batter the great man will be playing his 100th test in rajkot wish he scores runs but we win😅🇮🇳
Hahaha! I always wanted Sir Vivian Richards to score runs for the West Indies but for England to win.
Unfortunately, not only did Sir Viv always score runs but West Indies always won, too!

The best Analysis...
hands down ❤
There is a lot to ponder for team India..
1) Batting still needs to be positive. Rohit has to come out of his shell and play a bit more aggressive. Ashwin is a far better player, he is playing a bit too defensive , i guess.
2) Shreyas Iyer's form is crucial. He is a good player of spin, more importantly he scores runs quickely .He needs to score big .
3) Indian batting needs to be more lethal. They could have score 450 easily in the Ist Innings. When you score runs in India, score big.
4)spinners are not bowling well . Ashwin is bowling round the wicket to the right handers straight away. He should use the rough outside the offstunps and lure the right handers to play a bit more towards covers. Moreover he can be a bit more attacking, keep close fielders.
I think he is a bit more worried about the reverse sweep.
5) Rohit's test captaincy needs to be more attacking .Kohli brought bit more energy on the field , thats missing ..Too defensive, even when Rehan , Hartley is batting..spreading the field too much..
Problem with England is that When the entire team is going blitz atleast a class batsman like Root should stay at one end to stabilize the innings...
England and india are very pleased for their wins and loss.outstanding batting , bowling , fielding from both the sides...and one man army was pope in first and outstanding bumrah on flat track in second test.......
absolutely love you two gentlemen. you make cricket look / sound good. Please do a podcast everyday !!!
I like how Nasser Hussain casually hit the raw nerve of Atherton by mentioning McGrath.
Indian media should learn from these legends on how to do a podcast. This is just brilliant content for a cricket geek. 3rd Test will be going to be most thrilling one as both the teams want to dominate the series. Hopefully, Rajkot's pitch won't be a rank Turner.
Hmmm. Whenever has Rajcot NOT turned?
England’s spin bowlers are VERY inexperienced but I like it that Stokes has backed them all the same.
Tom Hartley looks like a proper player; Rehan Ahmad looks increasingly like a good investment… They will get better by the match.
Hopefully, Joe Root will be left to concentrate on his batting.
I reckon Rajcot could produce the best match of the series. Jimmy will be rested and fit to bowl on the first morning should England lose the toss…
But I truly feel that England should play another seamer. It seems to me that England have decided to try to ‘out-spin’ India. I don’t think they can do that. Yet. And if they don’t in the next match then the series will have gone.
Best wishes
I can listen to them conversing endlessly. High quality discussions the one needed on the back of two fantastic tests
Notwithstanding Pope's monumental 195 runs (failure of the 3 spinners to choke his frequent reverse sweeps), India's loss in the 1st Test was due to the utter failures of 3 batters - Gill, Iyer & Jadega. If one of them scored runs, the deficit of 28 runs were not there. A win in the 1st Test of a bilateral series is always important to carry forward the tempo in the rest of the matches.
That was a lovely chat! :)
India is not playing their best cricket...if they started to play their A game England will be nowhere close...its fact
Excellent series so far. Hats off to Baz-Stokes for making it an interesting series. Hope next 3 tests are also like that and pitches are like this.

I think England has so far done really well to always be in the game in both matches and never really let india to run away with the game despite having a very inexperienced spin attack and if Bumrah had not produced such a masterclass then perhaps they would have had a great chance to win and now the only thing they need to do is have a clear conversation with Joe Root that he does not have to play like a slogger and just bat the way he has always done.
Absolutely spot on! Bumrah was the difference in this match. But an extra thirty or forty runs from Root in either innings would have negated that.
A Joe Root century in the first innings might even have won it for England; who knows?

Once it happened in HYD. But I think England should play with two pacers and Hartley should be promoted up d order in batting.
We need this sort of ground and attitudes from the teams to inject life in Test cricket. That 2nd test WI v/s Aus at GABBA was also a great advertisement for test cricket.

The best way to predict the series is to see which side has a higher possible ceiling.
I’m going to say Indian batting has a much higher ceiling. I don’t expect England bowling to do much better. And everything else is still going to remain roughly the same.
My prediction is 4-1 or 3-2 India.
Gotta hand it to eng, they took the game to us and had me worried even with 399. I cannot believe this test series so far, its been fantastic.
Yes, but we have been a better team and given them chances of coming back.
I don't think psychological aspect has anything to do with Root's dismissal against Bumrah. It was genuinely good bowling. If batter throws the wicket away on lose balls then it can be psychological.
As an Indians who followed cricket in Eighties I am still in awe of Shri Malcom Marshall.
He was the thunderbolt personified.
Shri Ram as usual is extremely selfish as he always takes all his children back whom he loves the most!
Athers what kind of mic are you using. Clear voice...
What app is this and are you actually both talking to each other live?
He’s probably using his MacBook Pros mic, Nd has apple programmed audio balancing including voice isolation like in the iPhone. Nasser on the other hand has a better setup but a little noise in his output, needs a yeti pro or better interface and lows are cut, gotta eq it!
I love Bazball style but when they talk about it, Stokes basically always says its to release how players can play without risk or fear....pretty much so they can play their own natural game.
I kind of feel like that because a lot of players in the squad are very aggressive in their play it is having a negative impact on players like Root and Bairstow. That day 4 was screaming for Root just to play his normal style, 2 days to play so plenty of time and England amongst it all really need that anchor! Even Bairstow when he has played some of his great knocks takes time to get going and then he is flying. I love seeing England go for the win, I love seeing them attack and not be afraid but if you have time and a lot of it, sometimes you need to utilise the talent you have that play more methodically at times. That is my only gripe at the moment....that and I do think Jimmy should retire, I kinda feel he is now just making it about his legacy and we are wasting time with youngster fasties who need the experience. Lets not forget how young Jimmy was coming in and how much time he got....it is too late to get them in end of their 20s....what they are doing with the spinners is brilliant but we need to do it with the quicks too!
Frankly England lost because of two missed catches - of Jaiswal in the first innings and gill in the second. But for these two, other's scores were ordinary. The most remarkable aspect was Bhumra who was simply brilliant. The series is interesting
Bumrah the Yorker king replacing Lasith Malinga. 😉
Rohit Sharma got a bit defensive and India messed up that first test. It should have been 2-0. For all Bazball talks, England have crossed 300 only once on such good batting wickets.
The more you think about it, the more amazing Englands performance becomes. We talk about India’s amazing performance at the Gabba. Here we have a team with not a single spinner that we’d pick in a state team and yet they have delivered! They have given us a solid fight! Credit where credits due, England have played amazingly well, but glad they lost. 😁
Why are these two not commentating 😞 Nass, Atherton, Bishop are the holy Trinity
England positive for me has definitely been they've tackled the spinners quite well.
Anderson, legend.
Joe Root is due a big score
If he slows down by just 20-30%, he might get one. Cricket history tells us that slogging at BOTH ends seldom works out well.
I don’t mind if you disagree but it seems to me that Joe Root was MADE for Indian conditions. When he messes up it always feels like such a waste of potential runs.

Cool we are with out 2 .
Eng shud go with Jimmy + wood + leach n Hartley in next test..That looks a formidable bowling line-up.
