Honestly, Harbhajan Singh played a very vital role in changing the cricket in India alongside Ganguly (the bold captain) and VVS Laxman, particularly during/after this series. No doubt we had had legends before like Dravid, Sachin etc but the level of Indian Cricket and the team got on track after this series!! Harbhajan is an underrated legend i feel!!

Harbhajan Singh was an excellent bowler early in his career, but he didn't quite maintain that high standard as he got older. I think this is probably the reason why he isn't rated up there with the greats. Good bowler. Incredible game in Kolkata.

@@carlmarks8170 I don’t agree with you because Bhajji said himself after 2011 World Cup Bhajji , yuvraj , and others was not even offered World Cup match . They were given only matches that are played in the clubs or other series offered except World Cup and eventually he lost interest in the game and even in the club matches he was on on and off role. The whole 2011 World Cup group was separated here and there , many players were given time to play and many were not. Also inserting new players into the team and then choosing who is the favorite based on who you like the most. The whole cricket culture became toxic because of culture differences. It was not because of the players because of people in the cricket commission as Ganguley and many others they can tell you clearly what happened after 2011 World Cup. In one conference yuvi, Bhajji explain what really happened to them and their game. Yuvi was ejected time after time even when he or the others performed either in the name of physical fitness or age were kicked out . Yuvi even passed the physical fitness test for World Cup 2019 and still was not taken. Because if you want to win big you have to keep the team together along with the new comers but cricket commission already done their dirty work years before and finally they lost in 2019 becsuse of self ego monster.

That is something that I have noticed as well. I see other people try to bring down our country's cricket by their comments about Indian pitches being dust bowls etc etc. And some of our people dance to the same tune. Typical slave mentality of weak hearts not standing up for their own things. I mean what is wrong with having turning pitches in India? Isn't spin a part of cricket? And what is wrong in playing to your own strengths? We should question when we don't perform outside but then it does not mean our own tracks are ridiculed. Double standards honestly. If pace is such a man thing and spin is for weaklings, then why these aussie bruts dont show how manly they are against spin being so weak!

In those days, batsmen had better ability to play even quality spin. These days almost no team can play spin.

Srisanth,Irfan,Yousuf all met similar fate and faced an abrupt end of their careers.
