When this went down in 1992, I was 14. Even I knew this guy was a sleaze. If you want the full story read Mary Jo’s autobiography “Getting It Through My Thick Skull”. It was very disturbing.
I grew up with their kids in Massapequa. It was a strange time. My father always hated Joey because he was a big mouth.
Joey victimized Amy, Amy and the media victimized Mary Jo.
Yes, & even by victimizing Amy, Joey had victimized Mary Jo. No, I'm not saying that he was involved in the attempted murder, however, if Joey had not broken his marital vows, Amy Fisher would not have hunted Mary Jo down.

Yeah, I always hated the way the late night talk shows etc., made fun of Mary Jo's injuries. That was pretty low down thing to do. Whether she should have defended her husband or not, the fact remained, she was the victim here.

It’s fine to be interested in celebrities and true crime to a certain extent, but the glamorizing of public figures U.S. and the UK is insane. Paparazzi is a booming business in these two sections of the world because of it.

I met Joey at Maggianos in the San Fernando valley, circa 2002. He was there with a young, pretty brunette (not Amy fisher). He was wearing a sleeveless flannel shirt. Regardless how I feel about the shooting and him cheating, he was a nice guy.
Yeah I actually grew up with his son and we still stay in touch even though he moved to LA and I remained in NY and as much as I feel bad for his mother because she absolutely didn't deserve any of this stuff I always found his pops quite friendly and charming. He just makes some incredibly poor decisions.
