Build Your Own Roll Bar Miata

In order to take a convertible to the track you are required to have a true roll bar. The defacto way to go is one of the (very nice) hard dog roll bars. These are great but even the cheapest is over $1000 after freight. If you're a cheapo like me and have some basic metal working skills you can make your own!

I already have a hard dog single bar and I plan on doing something like this to add supports to the rear. Super great video.

That's a great idea! I didn't think about that, but the hard dog bar is a great starting point for the main hoop

That's really tempting, I might have to practice stick welding some tube. I was planning to buy one a few years ago but when I saw the price I spent the money on an ecu and tablet with tuner studio instead. I 3d printed a mount to replace the center right eyeball vent so the tablet just hangs out above the hvac controls so I can run custom dashboards and whatnot with good visibility.
