  • Curios how the KRX gets by in the dunes? So was Garrett so he and his boys joined his dad out at Dumont dunes for 3 days of playing in the sand. Ride along with him to see how she handles and hear what his thoughts are.

    No way you could possibly have fun out there in that over weight, under powered KRX!!! LOL! Those comments are dead to me...8:20 Love it. All that working it in the sand and never heated up the belt. Impressive! The low power switch is a mystery to me. Can't figure out why anyone would ever really need it. Tried mine once and will never intentionally use it again.

      Clearly he did and clearly they do! I know many who dune with it. You ain't going to blast like a turbo rzr. But you can definitely have fun. That's a silly comment to make. Especially if you Clutch it, tune it with ECU flash and a better exhaust to open it up a little.

    Great video. I checked one out a couple weeks ago and was impressed with the size and built quality. Everything on the machine is beefy straight from the factory. I’d be interested in a 4 seater at some point. Love my Polaris General but the KRX seems like a great platform. Rumor has it they’re developing their own version of Fox Live Valve or Dynamix. They’ve had the tech in their bikes for years and would be a smart move.

    Hard sand isn’t too power hungry. Soft sand like glamis really saps power. Won’t stop you, like you said you need to keep on it and really drive it. You won’t make it up dunes like China wall easily, but it has more than enough power to dune it. People in VW bug powered cars make it around there, but driving something with power on massive dunes is pretty amazing.

    Nice to see a KRX at Dumont. A few things I am wondering about .... running sand tires would reduce the un-sprung weight and allow for better wheel spin, but how much paddle is ideal for the HP of this SxS? TBD I guess... :) Also, is it good enough to follow in a fast group? Good job with the video and driving!

    • @DerangedOffRoad
      @DerangedOffRoad  Před 4 lety +3

      Destroyer Clan has a post on paddle size and they recommend a NA car should run with 100hp to 144hp a 31” to 32” 9 paddle tire. Also I did fall behind a group riding pretty fast and all Turbo cars. I stayed with them for about 5 minutes I followed. It won’t keep up with some, but I think it depends on driver and well. It’s diffidently not a turbo car though, but it runs way better then most people’s comments about it being slow and too heavy. Also I was on stock tires and everyone out there had paddles. - Garrett

      @DerangedOffRoad  Před 4 lety

      Curtis Bull people need to stop comparing the power of a KRX to a turbo car. We get it. It doesn't have 180 hp. It's got plenty of power for the type of riding we do. Dunes is about 1% of of what we do.

      That's never going to happen.
      As far as the sport side-by-side Market there's always going to be a disagreement on whether or not the NA models have enough power not. And for a good chunk of sport side-by-side buyer the turbo option with more horsepower is the only option.
      The new Kawasaki is a great machine but for some it's just not going to have enough power for them to want to spend that kind of money. And for a lot of buyers they're waiting impatiently for the Japanese stuff to come out with comparable high power models to Can Am and Polaris that can retain the build quality and reliability that we usually get from the Japanese builds.

    • @j.b.7338
      @j.b.7338 Před 4 lety +3

      I understand the whole power over all else. But at the end of the day. It’s all in what you are planning to do with YOUR machine. Really the only place I see a need for the turbo is racing (which I do not do) blasting the dunes undoubtedly (which I’ll never do) but other that that no need for two hundred inches to my mid section. However hitting the trails on the east coast, climbing steeps, rock crawling and lots of technical riding. Then this machine and any other 100hp is plenty. The 200 is so much power that it breaks itself.
