I can't say how much this video helped me out with my radiator. You save me $1,250 that the auto shop will trying to make me pay because they say " it takes hours to do" when I was able to do it under 3 hours. Thank you so much!

Hello, some time ago I had an accident in my VW Passat 2013 the cooling system was damaged, I bought the radiator of 2015 but now did not trust the words of that seller who informed me that, if it was, I would like to ask if it is really compatible with my car.

What torx range would you recommend having for a DIY working on a newish VW? Say 2016 and up.
Or would it be better to buy them as needed? Thanks.

Sometimes the radiators will come with upper and lower radiator hose rings. Typically they are ok to reuse but sometimes you will have one that needs to be replaced

@@EuropeanAutoRepair I'm sorry for the confusion. I just wanted to ask some questions about a 2013 Passat turbo diesel that I'm having some issues with.

@EuropeanAutoRepair 1 fan stopped working so replaced the fan assembly with a new one. Everything is back like it was but the fans haven't ran so far. Drove it to get it up to temperature and even tried turning on the AC but no luck.
Also, what's the best way to bleed the system and just how many thermostats dies it have? I've seen different places say 2 and others say 1. Apologies for the long post and thank you in advance for your assistance.

@geoffkeller5337 do you have a scan tool that can perform actuations? It would be pretty helpful to try to actuate them. If not that little topdon scan tool that’s available on Amazon for 60 or 70 dollars is excellent, one main thermostat, I wouldn’t try chasing down any issues until pulling codes
