  • Cellphone video captured the moment a man slapped a child with autism for touching his car in Pacoima. Alfredo Morales, 10, and his older sister were crossing the street when the boy reached out and touched the emblem on the man’s Mercedes-Benz sedan.
That's when the man turned his car around to confront them.
KTLA's Carlos Saucedo reports on July 3, 2024.

I saw the full video, although the video captured the aftermath of the incident, it was clear that the child broke the emblem that was at the end of the car by bending it. I don't condone what the guy did to the child, but tell the whole story. The boy didn't just touch the emblem, he walked up to it, and broke it. The family says that they knew for many years that the boy would go out of his way to touch almost everything, yet the person handling him felt the need to disregard this fact when they were watching him. I'm sorry, but it's the family's fault. If I have a dog that's known to bite people, and it bites someone, I'm still responsible. It dosn't matter if I'm homeless or not, it's still my responsibility. End of story.

The emblem alone is $95 from Mercedes plus the one hour minimum labor which is $125 to $175 per hour at the dealer so we are already up to $220 to $270 and often times when hood ornaments are yanked hard the hood will have distortion around the base of the ornament so now you can add $1000 or more to repair the hood which takes time so factor in a rental vehicle and any time lost by the vehicle owner and it gets real expensive real quick.
A few months ago I was sitting in my car taking on the phone in a parking lot when a Dodge charger backed out of the spot across from me and backed Into the front of my car, I back that car in since the trunk is the front. The damage looked minor to the person who just hit me, both of my front indicator lights were broken by the chargers exhaust tips and my bumper cover was cracked. The person that hit me tried to pay me a few hundred dollars to keep it off insurance and that was when I showed the person that just one front indicator light was $4900. Him having a condition shouldn't excuse him from what he did, and with how the mischievous children are at the moment, the man probably thought the kid was just bring a troublemaker. You guys should also leave the man alone, let him live his life. he didn't severely beat him up or anything, it's just a small slap, like a parent would to their children. you guys really don't have anything better to do if you go to this mans house.

Because he's a minor. When you're a minor you won't get charged for a criminal offence. The parents or the legal guardian get held accountable. All that the police can do when a minor gets arrested is to phone their parents or guardian to come to the police station, pick them up, and then take them home to reprimand them. Sadly many parents don't bother to reprimand their child when they get them home.

@@eddieg6436 I was eating lunch the other day at Farmer Boys and this Hispanic couple was eating while their 5 year old child with down syndrome is running from one empty booth to another jumping up and down will screaming as loud as possible and they just ignored the behavior. I was eating in a chair at a small table and I was about to take a drink of my soda and as I raised by cup the girl ran down the aisle where I was sitting and her head hit my elbow which launched the drink out of my hand all while the parents were showing each other stuff on their phones and after she launched my drink she ran into the kitchen and I hear a metal crashing noise which was the girl running into a stainless steel prep table knocking everything over and the corner of the table made a 2" long deep laceration to the girls forehead and the parents never turned around. I had to point the parents out to the manager.
