If you don't have the money for a lint free towel just use a big cotton tshirt, i use two at the same time because dreads absorb a lot of water 😂 and you can use some old ones or go to a thrift shop and buy the ones that are the old thick cotton 😉

YES! Thank you for this recommendation. I actually prefer it over the microfiber towel I bought.

All truth here! The one thing I didn't know is that my scalp would be more sensitive after I got locs.

Those lint-free towels are usually microfiber, and microfiber makes me want to peel my skin off. Guess I'll have to deal with lint. 🤷‍♀️😆

Btw i wish i had made my dreads thicker. For some stupid reason I thought i needed really pencil thin dreads and the prob is i have very thick hair normally. My loctician tried to warn me but also she didn't have a whole lot of experience yet so.. I have like 75 dreads now. I started w partial dreads and when i finished the rest I got them thicker and those are my fav and easier to take care of.

They do get thicker in time...so there's hope! Good call on making the top ones thicker though :)

How long have you had your dreads? They're so pretty. Also where are you when ppl are touching your hair? No one ever touches my hair, no one cares, no one talks to me. It's very rare that I get a compliment. I actually started getting complements once I got to a year but. Mostly ppl just stare at me in the rich areas of town and in poor areas no one cares.

I've had my dreads for 5 months now! They are starting to be pretty frizzy on the top and it's driving me crazy. I've had people come up to me in the mall and ask to touch my hair. My students like to touch it too lol.
