    The main challenge with the carpenters is, they all have different level of skills...so with the same plan/design, you'll get different results with different carpenters e.i. from good to worse...also it's quite common that he might not be serious or dedicated with finishing the job in time and/or with good results... delays are most likely as many are with laid back attitude ... they might disappear for some reasons (with your money) ...and as of having an advantage of selecting materials, you need to have the knowledge of it in the first place... which I believe many don't...so you rely on your carpenter who might suggest something of HIS advantage... personally, I would go for the modular....BTW..you say one might not have time to visit the workshop - but with a carpenter you'll spend 2/3 months (running around like crazy to purchase the materials)...very contradictory....

    regarding one of the con's which you had explained in regard's of modular topics that those furniture quality and hardware fittings varies factory to factory and end user gets exploited due to quality issues, i would like to share my point is, quality branded hardware if used for any type of boards they are easy to assemble and as well disassemble. i have 10+ years experience in such European brands who have long lasting furniture fitting options, and i had noticed few modular furniture factories in india who uses those qulality products.

    Hey, your video is quite helpful for me. I have a problem I can't go for combination of both ie. Modular and carpenter because in my city there is no such factory, all the factory work done in Bombay, thats why Iam planning to go for complete carpenter work but I want a factory made finish, kindly guide me to achieve that..

    The carpentry furniture also depends on the skills of the carpenter... If an unskilled carpenter he fan ruin U R entire furniture.... Which happens with major carpenters....

    The video is about 4 yrs old so I don’t know if your perspective has changed today or not but there are a million wrong things you spoke about Modular furniture and carpentry both. Like especially the cons, almost all of them were way out of place for both.

    • @HomeBanao
      @HomeBanao  Před 8 měsíci

      You'll have to understand that if you're looking from an engineering and manufacturing perspective, construction and interior industry is still not close to the kind of precision achieved by auto industry.
      From accuracy, precision and repeatability perspective, my view has not changed.

    • @HomeBanao
      @HomeBanao  Před 8 měsíci

      But as a consumer, as I suggested in the video, structure should be done in factory, customisation at site to be done by carpenter. The correct answer is not either one but both.
      It should be supervised by an experienced architect or interior designer.

    Seems like you are not having in depth knowledge about modular furniture, most big Indian manufacturers and companies since 2016 have started using MR (Moisture Resistant), BWR(Boiling Water Resistant) and BWP(Boiling Waterproof) grade plywood that too they’re usually brands Greenply etc. And the part that you’re saying about customisation is completely wrong, in fact there’s more customisation possible and the products that go into your furniture are mentioned more clearly in the quotation and sign off drawings. In carpentry in fact the material list given is not complete, 4 sites of mine have been done by carpenter(both residential and commercial) on site The 3 channel sliding door you spoke about was done at one of my homes in 2018 using lacquered glass. At this point I stopped watching this video and wrote this comment.
    Im not proving that modular furniture is better than carpentry, just saying you’re misinformed and need to really explore more. Carpentry and Modular just like anything have their advantages and disadvantages but what you’re explaining isn’t quite right in a few aspects.
