I really love Joaquin Phoenix. He is an incredible actor. The transformation he goes through physically and mentally as he evolves into the Joker was unbelievable. He is really funny and sweet and had to exercise such powerful restraint dealing with the awful interviewer Jimmy Kimmel. Talk about not knowing the actor. He talks to a vegan about going to Sizzler. Joaquin Phoenix is a great actor. What I think makes him great is he doesn’t appear in a lot of movies. Some actors appear in too many movies. That’s what makes Joaquin Phoenix special. He’s not overused.
Joaquin did such an amazing job in this movie I didn't think anyone would come close to Heath Ledger's joker but his was a much darker and like more serious version but it's amazing how well he nailed this performance can't wait for the sequel

I can’t believe Jimmy exposed this moment for everyone. I work on sets and it’s very common and NORMAL for actors to be in emotional rollercoasters during the filming. Acting is a very emotionally challenging thing, it requiers you to be very vonurable and dive deep into layers of intense emotions and trauma, often on a tight scedule while an entire team is watching and judging. As a film worker you have to keep that in mind and be patient. We aren’t robots

Gladiator is my favorite movie in the world! I watched it since I was probably 5. I sort of grew up "hating" Joaquin for his role as Commodus. Growing up I realized that he was so talented and amazing in this movie that he made the audience hate him. I hated him because because of his role, which he portrayed soooo damn good, I def love him now. He's one of the greatest!
I say this to people all the time. I hate him in Gladiator so much I wouldn't watch his other movies. Until I watched Walk The Line and that's when i realized this man is great.
He and Oliver Reed were actually the real great actors in that film
One of my favorite movies of all time, seen it twice in theaters and paid full price, really hits home if you deal or known someone who dealt with mental illnesses and how little society/insurance to help. I’ve been there and Joaquin lived the role. And that’s a very scary thing to do.

Joaquin was clearly delivering that line as a dry humor delivery, he wasn't actually upset about them making fun of his break dancing. Man I understand why he felt embarrassed. But the performance that was given demands concentration and creating a very organic and specific mind set to deliver and do justice to the film. I'd struggle to recite the alphabet under that sort of film making pressure. Much love and respect
