Sports jackets can be a little more accessible & less intimidating than a suit, and I think they're a great, easy way for a guy to start elevating his style, while still keeping things comfortable & familiar with the rest of the outfit.
Here's some thoughts and guidelines on sports jackets that can help figure out where you might want to start.

The Poshmark tutorial would be phenomenal. I do not have any type of sport coat or blazer because I honestly do not know where to start. I have heard and read that a blue blazer is a best place to start but I am not sure.
The blue blazer is a classic look, but imo it's a rather stuffy, old money, yacht club kind of vibe.
Someone from a more WASPy background may find it more authentic.
How is your dress shirt not see through? Are you wearing 2 shirts or an I just buying cheap shirts?
Could be both.
It is a custom shirt (bamboo/ cotton blend), but l also wear undershirts since my body chemistry tarnished light colors quickly.

For pokies, you'll need a thicker fabric.
Check out the Twillory undershirts. They're more substantial, but without being too hot.
You mention the secondary market, where can I find this? Over the last year I have lost 100 pounds, and I am still slowly loosing weight. I do not want to invest a lot until I flatten out or reach my goal, and I am having to replace my entire closet.
Places like eBay, Poshmark, & Mercari online, as well as thrift & consignment shops.
It does take some research to know what you're looking for. That's why I mentioned the tutorials I'll be doing for my patrons.
I've heard that sports coats have less structure compared to a suit coat, though some of yours looked to have padded shoulders. My understanding is that the lack of structure lowers the formality (in a good way) and makes it look less stuffy.
I don't have any sports coats though my grandfather has an old tweed one in my size and a timeless style that I may go get. I always check the suit section when I'm in a Goodwill but I've never found anything my size. Thin guys don't donate suits and jackets, I guess.
The degree of padding can vary.
English tailoring tends to be more heavily padded than Italian, but there's no hard & fast rule for sports jackets vs. suit jackets.
You may need to resort to the online secondary market, but I'll bet there's something out there for you.
I've seen both padded and unpadded sports jackets. It's a matter of personal preference and tailoring tradition. Italian style is good for lighter spring / summer jackets. I wouldn't say that it's inherently less formal but it's a bit easier to dress down. You could probably pull off even the plain white t-shirt + sneakers look.
Where do you find quality clothing like you mentioned on the secondary. I'm sure it takes some time to find your size.

I want to pull the trigger on a corneliani sport coat. It's a 44R but the length from the bottom of the collar is 33 inches. I'm 6 feet. My canali’s are 30-31. Is 33 too long?
