I am a product of airline people. My dad was a station manager for 30 years and my mom was a flight attendant (stewardess back then) in the 50s. I grew up flying stand by....all the way through college! A nice perk...but a frustrating perk at the same time!

As a daughter of a mom who used to work for an airline, I understand the standby struggle! Kinda sucks!! I started calling it “airport roulette” Will I get on this flight? Will I have to go to another airport and take 3 flights?? Will I have to fly as close as possible to my destination then drive or get on a bus??? You never know! Lol

Jill another option for flying to Tally if there’s full flights is to fly Southwest to Panama City and then drive. It’s less likely to be full, except maybe for spring break times, and the drive is 2 hours instead of 5 hours from Atlanta. Also it’s a small enough airport that it’s super easy to get in and out.
Also where did y’all go to Mass in Tallahassee? Close to the campus or somewhere else? We’ve been to most of the Catholic Churches there over the years. 😊

Flying reserve sounds super stressful. I feel like flight attendant employees should be able to get official tickets on a flight of their airline free or just really discounted if anything. Flying reserve just sounds unnecessarily stressful.
