I grateful for having had the privilege of teaching many artists over the years of my career. During this process, I have seen patterns that beginner and professional artists alike struggle with and repeatedly fall into. My goal with this series is to clearly define how one needs to "SEE" the subject, to precisely extract that which is essential visually to create a captivating work of art!
It has been very rewarding to see these strategies build the confidence of my students through this approach. These techniques will give you assurance that your first brushstrokes will be correct, and that you will have a strong foundation to build the painting on.

You stand out in everything you paint. You took figurative Impressionism to a level that Sargent or any of old masters never reached. Your strokes are vibrant (after all Impressionism is based on dynamism & strong colors) and extremely dynamic. While you teach, I see bright light in your eyes & reflection of your thought process - so deep & dynamic. Keep it up. Your legacy is already created by you.
