Going to West Bay Beach in a few weeks. As a novice scuba diver I am in awe of the perfect buoyancy displayed here--I wouldn't even think of trying that (for now).
If you haven't been there before, you are in for a treat. Diving is great, atmosphere is relaxing and the views fantastic. I hope you enjoy it.

Thank you so much. 🙏🏻 glad you enjoy it, and Roatan is absolutely a must. Personally I recommend the west side of the island. Minimal current, excellent visibility, little wind, just really gorgeous. World class to be exact.
I am going to Turquoise Bay Rd, Roatán, Honduras to do my coral restoration internship soon. The water visibility of Roatan island is very high in this video presentation. I hope it stays that way year round. It might be anywhere from 20 meters to 35 meters of visibility.

I am confused. How old is this footage? The reefs from West Bay past West End and farther are pretty much empty of fish, and most of the coral is dead. It's been largely ruined by sewage from all the developments (only recently addressed), decimation by lionfish, and a bacterial infection spreading through the coral that cannot be stopped. In addition, the place is overrun with dive boats dumping largely inexperienced divers like locusts. Roatan stopped being a diver's paradise 20 years ago--probably about the time the cruise ships started visiting.
This footage was shot on Jan 15 2023. The roatan Marine Park and the Bay Islands Marine National Park (Parque National Marino Islas de la Bahia) have done an outstanding job with the protected area. Actively guarding and restoring the reefs of the island. I am happy to report our dives on the west end and bay were very rich and world-class (as evidenced on our footage) More work continuous be done, but they sure are in a much better place than years ago. You are a liar. You pay you to lie? I did diving in Roatan about 4 years ago, the waters were crystal clear, all kind of fish were around, including lyon, parrot fish, all kind of fishes. Seen to be that you have dark agenda to damage Honduras asthe first tourist atraction in Central America. Regarding the coral reef still alive, with over 150 species around the Bay Islands. Shame on you.
