In this art vlog I set a 7 day challenge to draw everyday and finish my sketchbook! WOO!
I bring you along on the adventure of my week as a full time artist! Come along with me and watch me set goals and achieve them! My absolute fav part is the pieces from childhood, because I could see the same character traits in those works that you exemplify currently. It’s rare these days to see adults who’ve, somehow, preserved the light and joy of their childhood into adulthood. I pray you never lose that.
It's so refreshing to see how exciting you get when painting and looking forward to paint the other page of your sketchbook instead of getting afraid of a blank page, because you trust your skills so much. Your artistic soul inspires me a lot!

I gave my self a challenge to paint or draw something everyday. I have only missed 3 days in 2021. I love watching your process, especially when you seem to get stuck. I think you should do a tour of your childhood art and maybe recreate some of the pieces.

I’ve done the same 😊 even when I’m not feeling my best, I still draw. Even if it’s a quick doodle, anything that keeps me going and my hand moving. I usually end up feeling better and draw/paint longer than I thought I could.
Jess, your drawings since you were a child are so cuuuute! You could recreate them and make a children coloring book. It would be so adorable. Take care! You are a ray of sun!
Maybe you can recreate a modern or re-imagined version of your childhood drawings in a new sketchbook?

It's crazy and marvellous to me to see just how much talent there was already in your 3-6 year old self. Because I've seen a lot of child drawings and these are already on another level (considering your age) in terms of composition, details and control over your materials. When I look at my own drawings from that age it's another story lmao.

I used to have four cats but sadly they passed. I had a MaineCoon called Buster, and he was enormous yet the sweetest, cuddliest, mush ball. My tuxedo cat Delilah was the smallest out of the cats and I think was the smallest in her litter, but she was the cat in charge, lol.

Really liked the emotional exploring you did (a lot of people forget that's part of art.) But seeing your inner child come back out after so long, I think I'd get emotional, too.
I like watching other people's processes, because they're so different from mine. But I especially pay attention to how they complete a piece and define success.

@@artofjesskarp Hello Jess, need to correct my self 😊 because I found one mistake in translation. "Gratitude is the state when you feel grateful for something, gratitude is the feeling." So there are some differences. In this case the word in portuguese to gratitude is "gratidão". I wish all the best for you and I love your work and it's amazing to watch your school paintings. Because we can already see in those paints that is something special there. Something that tell us that you gonna be a bright artist. Unbelievable 🙏❤

Those pictures from your childhood were a tell tale sign of you true artistic talent!!!! Also.......day 3 was a fantastic way to get your artistic juices flowing. I have many unfinished sketchbooks and it really bugs me to not fill the entire book. So...... I'm revamping some old watercolors that I'm not happy with. Great suggestion!!!!
You did it! You painted those flowers! I´ve hoped for a long time you´d make some floral art! I just loved to look how you used the wet on wet technique. That´s what I like to do almost every time I paint with watercolors.
