As I’ve told you before. Your video last year where you talked about the waiver program, was the sole impetus in me applying for the waiver program. My loans in the amount of $25000 were forgiven in January of this year. I am forever thankful to you for using your platform and not gate keep. I told everyone I could at the time also. Also your doggie is adorable. I’m scheduled to get my first dog next weekend .

My student loans have now been forgiven and I owe your thank you for encouraging me to apply for it because I didn’t know if I would get it. I thought I would die with them. I had been paying on them since ‘98. I too got a letter saying I didn’t qualify either and then a few months later I got a letter saying they had been totally forgiven. Now I can focus on other debts. I hope to be debt free in 3 years other than our mortgage. Your are my inspiration! Congratulations on your accomplishment!!!!

Congrats!!! 🎉 Be sure to use your oldest credit cards from time to time. You can immediately pay them off. If you don’t use them, however, the company will end up closing your account and that hurts your credit. I learned that the hard way. Luckily, the company agreed to reopen mine but now I use it a few times a year.

Yay! I'm so happy that your loans were forgiven. I am entering my 7th year as a foreign language teacher and I applied for the waiver too. However, they gave me no credit for the school that I was at for the first three years due to a typo, but once it's fixed, I should receive credit. Then, they awarded me 28 months of on time payment credit for the 2nd school that I worked at for three years. It's better than nothing I suppose, but it sucks knowing that I have a friend with less teaching experience than me who had her entire student loan debt wiped out. I am hoping and praying for it to happen to me soon. Also, I know that the waiver is no longer in effect, but I was told that my application would still be considered since my initial application was before the SC decision. I am definitely praying hard, because I owe over 100k. 😪

Your video about the public service forgiveness program was so influential to me and my sister. My sister who is a public school principal had her loans forgiven. I on the other hand is in limbo. But I am very grateful for you sharing the information because you could have kept it to yourself. Oh and a friend that is a public servant also had hers forgiven. So, thank you!!!! ❤

Congratulations on reaching your goal! I found your channel through an unboxing video years ago. Then other videos came up that showed your personal side. I’m not a teacher or American but I am also a single woman in the same age group as you. I know it’s challenging to get everything covered with one paycheque and only being able to count on yourself (except for close family). You don’t need others to tell you this, but you should pat yourself on the back for a job well done! Stay focused on your goals, it’s sad how people in their golden years struggle to make ends meet.

Thank you for the encouragement. I’m finally at that point where I’m fed up with my finances. It’s not just saying no to myself but also to others (family members). Plus I learned to REALLY pay attention to your medical provider referring you to a specialist. Because that specialist might not be in the insurance tier a person contributes to. Which then causes a higher expense than expected.

Congratulations on paying off your credit card debt! You are so encouraging! I started paying off a $30, 000 loan last year and it will be payed off this month. 🙌🏽 Thanks to you, I found out about the public service waiver program. I qualified and those student loan balances totaled $25,000. They are now forgiven! 🙌🏽 I still have 1 credit card with a balance of $15,000, and it will take me 1 more year to pay it off. My plan is to work towards paying off my car loan once the credit card is paid off. Three years from now my prayer is for me to have only a mortgage payment and utility bills. I’m thanking and praising God in advance. 🙌🏽🙌🏽 LaTawnya, I can not thank you enough because you are the driving force behind me going on this “paying off my debt” journey.

Thank you so much for this video. Having tragically and unexpectedly losing my husband I quickly became a single woman, who works as a teacher in a Catholic School where my salary is only $37,000. As a result I work a Part Time job on the weekends meaning I work 7 days a week with Friday being nerly 16 hours. As a result I have created credit card debt and am struggling, but after the video I sat and totaled my debt and created a plan. I then went and started an emergency fund that I will contribute and slowly selected the card with the lest to pay off. My goal is hopefully my 2024. I must admit, I do shop out of sadness but selected to stop that as well. So, thank you. You are an inspiriation!!! Alicia from CT

It’s that sitting down to write it all out, that will make me cry. Haha. Congrats on being debt free, I hope to join that club soon! I am debating doing a CZcams channel, but maybe I should just do it for fun and then, if income arrives, than that would be cool and help out too. Not sure on that aspect, but I do have an after school club and I schedule my IEPs after school, because we are paid for that too,s o I do have some extra things, like you mentioned. Which do you feel impacted you more, the after school things or the CZcams/social media income, or is it a 50/50 split? Thank you again. I have a lot to think about and a journey to financial serenity that I need to begin! ❤❤❤

Congratulations on your accomplishments!!! It was truly a monumental task, and you did it 😊 I was so disappointed that the SC struck down Biden's student loan forgiveness program. Your experience demonstrates the importance of such a program. I was blessed as an undergraduate student because back in the 1970s, my college was basically free. Later on, the Social Security benefits I received through my father's disability, paid off my graduate school tuition. It is so important for the economy and the future of our country to make sure that we have an educated and skilled (trades) workforce.

Question. Now that all of your cards are paid off, how will you maintain a good credit rating and keep your credit cards? (they will often cancel your card once it's paid off, and you stop using it, which can lower your score)

Oh, congratulations! What a blessing that your student loan forgiveness was reconsidered.
I still have student loan debt. Never qualified for the TEACH program because I wasn't hired in the urban district. Then the reorganized PSLF program would've required me a lot of verification that I wouldn't be approved for. I got really frustrated because I was an urban youth and was a Black female teacher, yet the beneficiaries of these forgiveness programs would be white female teachers. Like, what was the point of all this if certain people are still being disadvantaged??? Anyway...

The verification process should be able to be completed to the district office or main office you worked for. I wouldn't let the verification process stop you from pushing forward. I truly live all applicants can benefit, but it does take a little leg work and a lot of follow up in the process.
