    Lyrics: Phoenix
    Into the night
    My long suffering friend
    We'll be reborn again
    Right here where everything ends
    Face to the sky
A trail of smoke in the air
    Pass into emptiness
    New life's awaiting you there
    Slave to some wretched old
    Imagination of yesteryear
Now all that grows in the skulls
Of the living are flowers of fear
    The morning red
    A sun-god calling you back
    Down through a thousand years
    White embers whistle and crack
Await the dawn with her kiss of redemption,
    My firebird!
You were the queen of the souls of all men
    Before there was the w-o-r-d
The morning new, the morning red,
    The fiery promise
Mad swirling smoke wheels round her head
Dedication to the queen of souls, her lost disciples
And when the fire's work is done
    Our time to be reborn
    By pagan streams
A wind whips the leaves from the trees
And it is revealed to us
That we are dreams within dreams
    Born from some wretched
    Old imagination of yesteryear
Now all that grows in the skulls of the living
    Are flowers of fear
The morning new, the morning red,
    The fiery promise
Mad swirling smoke wheels round her head
Dedication to the queen of souls, her lost disciples
And when the fire's work is done
    Our time to be reborn
The morning new, the morning red,
    The fiery promise
Mad swirling smoke wheels round her head
Dedication to the queen of souls, her lost disciples
And when the fire's work is done
    The phoenix now reborn

One of my favorite Satyricon songs. Sivert has a beautiful voice and Frost's drumming is always a pleasure.

Sivert Høyem is literally the voice of Norway.

The concert hall for this concert was The National Opera in Oslo and i think there are som rules for the audience. Audience would have behaved a lot different in a normal concert arena

Honestly one of the best Satyricon songs. The contrast between the black metal stylings and the lounge vocals is perfect. Somehow it just works. Great song.

I've been to many a Sivert concert, and the one thing that's an absolute constant is his voice: the same clean timbre that he shows on the first song he shows on the last song of the night. Absolute magnificent singer.

Actual concert happened in 2013 if I'm not mistaken, tho they released live DVD in 2015. And yeah, Sivert's voice is amazing, his main band is Madrugada (not metal at all, highly recommend). Anyway, great to see more Satyricon content from you guys, would love to see reaction to To The Mountains and Die By My Hand from the same concert. Thank you and keep it up!

thanks guys for keeping the original version of the song. I have not found an unedited performance anywhere else, except for your channel, even on the official channel of the satyricon. IMHO the original version is better.

"Madrugada - The kids are on high street" (Sivert's band)
