    It’s amazing how tony never slowed down. He broke every record as a chief and then decided to go Pete rose on the nfl and dominate while “old” when he was a falcon. His numbers were the same as his prime when he retired. Only sharpe and Gonzalez can say that.

      @mochiko7882 Před 8 lety +7

      +droidtrooper100 the thing that will always be held against Gronk when he is discussed as best TE ever is that no other best TE has had Tom Brady, who many consider the greatest quarterback of all time so, even though it's not his fault, he will always have that against him unless he still place spectacularly if he doesn't have Brady.

      Well Gonzalez wasn't at his best when he was with the Falcons although he was playing beyond his years there though. In other words, Gonzalez didn't have the right QB at the right time for him throughout his career.

      @seunda Před 4 lety +2

      @@jakerosner8043 Gtfoh... Gronk can't be Tony's waterboy. Its beyond "hypotheticals and durability." Its heart, brains, and true love for the game as true GOATS did/do. Durability aka Longevity is a major component. (Jordan, Tiger, Federer, Serena, Gretzky, Renaldo). Gronk was a talented player in a perfect system/situation to excel in. Thats it! Always hurt, bonehead, kind of soft, and doesn't speak intelligently.
      Tony had the multi sport talent skills, numbers, intelligence, and high character. With heart, brains, true love for the game, and...... DURABILITY

Sure tony stayed healthy, but he never caught anything more than a 5 yard wide open pass 99 percent of the time. Gronk was clearly the better player name one thing tony does better and- you cant. Gronk btw was acrually know to have high football acumen. Dont u dare bring any other form of intelligence into this they are both relatively stupid they are football players not scienists

How about Calvin Johnson? Both played on terrible teams with average qbs and guess what it’s Jerry rice who played with hall of fame qbs on one of the greatest teams ever who gets the throne. The difference- you can tell by watching Jerry rice that he isn’t the most talented wr ever. When you watch gronk not only is he the best tight end ever but when he plays at his best he is the most dominant offensive player period. When did they ever say that about tony g? Gates? Sharpe? • @jakerosner8043
      @jakerosner8043 Před 5 lety

      Lol your an entire arguement is either incorrect or invalid. The first thing i notice is you said “tony couldn’t block but he made up for it by scoring tds” yeah gronk does both and does both better than anyone averages more tds per game than Jerry Rice and even this season where he is washed up receiving wise he was likely the best blocking tight end. Second of all you can’t take away a players accomplishments because they had a good qb, nor can you boost a players accomplishments if they had a bad one. Otherwise Jerry rice is overrated as well as Marvin Harrison, randy moss, Terrell Owens, Antonio gates and so on. All of them played in great offenses like gronk but you never hear that argument for them. Plus it’s not like gronk needs a qb. The reason is good is because is massive, fast, strong untackelable freak who can catch anything, not because he has ton Brady. The only real argument hear is injuries. Sure go ahead and have tony g be the greatest by default. When I talk best tight end ever I’m not talking career accomplishments I’m talking talent and dominance in which case it’d be better to compare gronk to moss megatron and those guys rather than another te, because not te comes close. Shannon Sharpe, a hall of fame tight end, openly admitted this. This is all coming from a person who isn’t even a patriots fan, while on the other hand your prob some salty chiefs fan because tony g and kelce are baby gronk 1 and baby gronk 2

      Alejandro Sanchez, all 3 classic tight ends, i.e. offensive tackles who could catch the ball. Only when it was thrown their way, of course. For decades the NFL adhered to the Paul Brown philosophy on passing: there are 3 possible results and 2 of them are bad. If you add up the number of catches Mackey, Ditka and Smith had they might barely exceed Tony Gonzalez's career total. The current NFL is the outgrowth of Bill Walsh's West Coast offense, where even offensive tackles can be receivers!!

    Tony is better than gates because Tony racked up his stats while having rather average QB's his entire career. Gates had Drew Brees and Rivers. Gronk is a great TE but he needs to stay healthy. Gronk has lost 3 seasons to to injuries and he is only getting older.

    Tony Gonzalez has more yards receptions and touchdowns than gronk but hats not surprising because Gronk has been in the league for only 6 years maybe but while Gronk had a stacked patriots squad with bill belichick but he also has tom brady throwng him the ball while Tony only had average and mediocre qb's throwing to him and also the Pats dont even need gronk to win the superbowl, he was out all of last season and they still won the superbowl before he was drafted to New England they were still dominant Tony carried the teams he was on and if he wasnt playing they weren't winning

    • @jakerosner8043
      @jakerosner8043 Před 5 lety

      Tony really did a great job carrying those teams to 7-9. I’m not giving gronk the credit for the super bowls but gronk would still be better if he had Jamarcus Russel throwing him the football
