Well, it did showed the first brother got assassinated in his sleep without the usage of magic and the wand still changed its allegiance. It's gonna be funny, seeing a Muggle holding the most powerful wand and not knowing how to use it. It's gonna be like a monkey sitting on a nuclear bomb.
I mean, seeing a Muggle is always like seeing a monkey...
@@Goodbutevilgenius luckily i dont have do be seen as a monkey
Well muggles can use wands, in the the story for the American academy a non wizard dude accidentally used a magical wand.
@@anna.owo. I’m pretty sure that’s not true. In the story of ilvermorney the muggle uses the wand and gets thrown back or something.

He'll have the superior Smeltings stick.

This opens a new question. If dudley infact becomes master of the elder wand, but the wand recognizes he is a muggle and throws dudley away. Does the elder wand having disarmers dudley become the master of its self?
That thought also came to my mind and they need to do a part 2 to this video addressing that hypothetical and what repercussions it could have.
Is this a genie situation now? How would a wizard disarm the elder wand from itself?? Is it now permanently the master of itself
I think it would still be Dudley's, although if anyone else found it and picked it up they would become the master.
Yes, yes it does. The elder wand is free!!!
@@gachya1781 so what you're Saiyan is that in that situation "The Elder Wand is a free wand."?
Also would it choose a worthy user to wield it's true power after becoming free or would it just essentially become a regular wand that people will kill to get because they probably still think it's extraordinary even though it isn't anymore?
Personally, I'm a fan of Newt Scamander's wand for its simple elegance. It's not flashy and it doesn't stand out, but it feels more natural that way, which is a great fit for Newt. Truly the fanciest of sticks.
then take a look at Harry's wand lol. It has no design and is just a piece of painted wood with a handle lol
@@lordvika2526 True, but Harry’s is quite rough. The handle is literally bark. Newt’s is smoother, while still looking natural.
Also, IIRC, the inside of Newt’s wand is coated with silver from Occamy eggs, which really fits his character.
It also has some teeth marks from his habit of holding it in his mouth when his hands are occupied.
In short, I think that Newt’s wand is the one that most closely matches the character and personality of its wielder.
@@MCjossic oh i agree with that 100%, and i guess i was basing the visual of Harry's wand on the movie version which was smooth and polished.
I forgot they changed a lot of minor details like that in the movies
@@lordvika2526 I was also basing it off the movie version. Most of the wand is smooth and polished, but the handle is just bark.
As far as the books go, I don’t think we know too much about the aesthetics of the wands, other than the wood they’re made from. We do know that you can see fingerprints on Harry’s want (from the Wand Weighing ceremony I’m book 4), so it must be smooth and somewhat polished, but other than that I don’t think we know much.
@@MCjossic huh i could have sworn it s was black and smooth through out the entire wand, unless it was after he takes draco's wand and uses it in book 7 is what im thinking of....so many different wands and so many different styles and looks that its hard to remember them all lol

Whenever I read the part where Ollivander says you can use any instrument to channel magic, I imagine someone blowing a spell out of a trumpet 😂
I have a theory that there is magic specifically used with instruments that only certain people can do much like how only certain people are able to be good at playing music like I love the idea of playing certain rhythms as a spell

We’ve finally found the reason why Ben is bad at the quizzes. He listens at x2 and missing half the stuff in the book 😂😭
J: “Ben listens to everything at 2x speed, weird, right?”
Me, listening at 2x: “crazy...”
2,3 here, but I ain't bragging. (Might go up to 3x if the speaker is slow)
I mean... Maybe that's why J does better on J vs Ben
3x speed sometimes 4 is usually how fast i watch
some videos i watch at 1.25 just because of how painfully slow some youtubers talk
2.7 is my normal, unless my wireless earbuds batteries run low and I have to rely on backup with worse sound quality. Sometimes I'll go to 3x or even 3.5 if the speaker is talking too slow, and maybe down to 1.5 if their speech is slurred.
I have an idea for a new video:
Why did noone ever ask Myrtle how she died? They would have known immidiatly that the monster in the Chamber wasn't a spider and it would have proved that Hagrid didn't open it...
I think someone did at some point- probably Harry, and at least in the movie he did. I distinctly remember her going "there was a great big pair of yellow eyes" describing the moment before death and then not know what happened next and she was dead. They were already under the impression it was a magical beast that was causing the deaths. This does nothing but confirm that it wasn't likely to be the direct result of a person at least.
@@YourWaywardDestiny I guess op meant before harry. She haunted five decades ffs
@@kingkartabyo6206 I can't imagine her story changed much, and it didn't rule out a spider, I'd imagine someone did ask between then to the same result.
@@YourWaywardDestiny actually it would... professors would recognize straightaway it's not a acromantula, as myrtle couldn't just die by seeing into an acromantulas eye. (Plus I don'tthink acromantulaeyes are yellow as well)
@@kingkartabyo6206 I don't think it really rules out more than could be already told from her body. They would have been able to tell straight off if there was venom or not in her body, and spiders have light reflective eyes. She wouldn't be able to recall what the actual cause of death was, just her last living memory. Seeing eyes is only helpful if you're willing to think there's a Basilisk about. This wouldn't add anything else to the story.
“🎵I got 99 problems and they’re all fancy sticks!🎵” - J Carlin
Im now going to use "Ben speed" as an actual measurement of speed
I listen at 1.25x speed, still perfectly pleasant to listen to while still getting through books just a little faster
I didn't tell anybody until now but I'm currently at 2.70x speed and as a non native english speaker I'm proud of it.
Last time I was this early, Percy hadn’t betrayed his family yet
Well... he never did _betray_ his family. He got into a pretty big argument, sure, and made an effort to cut all ties with them, but when it really mattered, he fought alongside them.
@@Goodbutevilgenius thank you!
so u were only 3 books late? gotcha!
I was rewatching Chamber Of Secrets and we noticed the Cornish Pixies can use the wand but only make a very vague spark. I also remembered how the monkey in Fantastic Beasts uses Newt's wand. Same spark. So I was thinking that if a muggle got it, that's the most it could do. Like you said it was completely accidental but the pixies clearly made that choice to break the chandelier, so maybe having any kind of connection to magic even if it's not wizard magic lets them have at least some control.
2 years later and I am still loving these theories. Way to keep fresh guys.

@@manyagaver1946 they have only referred to her as "the author" ever since they talked about everything during the trivia livestream this past summer. I've always liked them but I got so much more respect for them now because how they handled all of that.
I wish we could have met more Muggles in HP, perhaps some who knew about magic (like Seamus's dad and...Snape's dad, maybe?) It would have been interesting to hear how they lived and interacted with their magical partners/ children.
The first guy to “disarm” the brother, stabbed the guy to get the wand. Not that magical either
Plot twist: The weapon used to stab the dude was that person's magical instrument (ie their wand substitute).
The lesson I took from this is never take a stick from a stranger. You just may be condemning yourself to death by powerful wizard.
“We can’t know for sure that that monkey wasn’t magical”
Hear me out....HP, but everyone is an animal. Harry Potamus anyone
Ronald Weasel, Hermione Giraffe, Vincent Crab, ...
Gregory Gopher. Draco... Oh no.
'Trans Wizard Harriet Porber And The Bad Boy Parasaurolophus' has quite a few animal characters, for example Dumbledore is a mammoth if i'm not mistaken
pfff
severus snake, albus dauchsund dore, horace slug, justin finch
Favorite Muggle character is mr. Roberts (The guy who is at the camping grounds for the Quidditch World Cup in goblet of fire)
Now if this really happened the international statute of secrecy is going to go into full scale chaos
"Magicalness of someone's punch" got me lol
This is just reminding me of that one wizards of Waverly place episode where they give Harper a “training wand” that can only do certain things and she likes pretends to be a wizard until she’s caught
Wouldn’t it be cool if Harry at the Malfoy manor disarmed draco without a wand. Like by flicking his hand or something like that when he runs up to him.
It would have showed Harry’s power even without a wand which I think the Elder wand would’ve liked.
"Nothing wrong with normal sticks" *Why did I spend so much money on these?*
He is just saying that to justify to himself spending that much money on the wands

I really like newt's wand. It's so simple and kind of looks like a pen and I think that's just a fantastic wand character match. Second place would probably be lucius malfoy because the whole hidden dagger style thing is just brilliant
Could a muggle gain magical abilities? Imagine if there was a way. Would be an interesting read in the wizarding world.
I listen to EVERYTHING at 2x speed. Helps with reading books for school, and sneaking in more youtube in shorter amounts of time.
Yeah, I was recently doing some last minute listening of old lectures for a test. A friend of mine wanted to listen in too, so I let him. He was baffled how I understood anything; I didn't even realize I had the speed at 2x.
I think the muggle would be more like the keeper of the elder wand, until it finds a new master
Also Ima say it again, I always thought the elder wand was a concept, as in elderly, not as in the wood / material. It just happened to originally be made of elder, for the symbolism. So I always thought when Harry snatched Draco's wand, any wand he used would work as the elder, until he were defeated - he didn't need to hold the actual "elder" wand - which would make him still the master after the series unbeknownst to him and everyone else. This way the wand itself can be destroyed, but the Hallow always exists - unless Harry dies without ever being disarmed or any other using it
The next book will be about the new master of the elder wand.
The evil guy creates a spell that tracks the master, which is still Harry, defeats Harry in an epic battle and opens a wand fixing shop.
Yes...but harry wins and realizes he can make a wand fixing shop then makes millions...lol
8:13 “The Author” The disrespect! 😂 She deserves it though.

The wandless wizard 4:55 (apparently this guy) is called Ian Brown. He was the front man of a British Manchester band called the Stone Roses and wrote the song F.E.A.R where every lyrics is spelling fear. Plus all other songs
His latest album is called Ripples. Highly recommend checking him out and the songs f.e.a.r, in the year 2525, keep what you've got. Sally cinnamon, or any of his music.
Turn out he was a friend of the director and he cameo in so his kids would be happy. He chose the book and the wandless magic due to mixing muggle and magic views over Stephen Hawking's and his love for both sides.
(Met him asked him had him sign my copy of a brief history of time as both Ian Brown aka the wandless wizard.)

I absolutely love the conclusion you've come to, as usual with you guys, and now really, really want to write an AU fanfiction about Harry's seventh year involving this idea...
It was the dumbest idea any of the brothers had for a magic relic. Yes, let’s make a super-powered sentient weapon that can tell who is more powerful/worthy of it even though I know my brothers are my equal in power
Yeah, but neither of the other brothers wanted it, they all had different obsessions. Not to mention they could probably just make their own version if they really wanted to.
I don't think it was his intention to give the elder wand this personality. His goal was to create the most powerful wand in existence, it just happens that the materials which gave the wand its potential, also shaped its personality, like Rowling's piece on wand woods, cores and length explains. Some wands tend to change their allegiance, others are more loyal to their original owner. After all, the wand chooses the wizard
8:11 did they really stop calling JK Rowling by name and now just refer to her as The Author 😂 💀

Mind you, it's for marcheting. Saying the word JK Rowling could potentially cause bad reception.
I'm 40 seconds in and it always confused me too, the best I can figure is that Harry became "master of the Elder Wand" because he was using the wand that disarmed Dumbledore. So maybe it's not Harry himself, but the wand he used that was allegiant to the Elder Wand.
Or the Wand is just SUPER temperamental.
You guys need to do a video about how powerful ollivander is. I’ve always been curious since he studies wands so much. You would think he is better studied than most.

Dudley taking Draco's wand wouldn't mean the same as Harry taking it. As you said, it's the wand's experience with the wizard/environment that drives the will of the wand. Harry and Draco had battled before, and the two intimately knew each other. Thus, Draco's wand had more experience with Harry than some rando taking it.
You guys should do an evolution of your theories video, that would be AMAZING !!
i love your harry potter videos plz make more of them soon
Idea for HP alternate history: Grindelwald is killed in the Blitz in 1940, making a random German bombardier master of the Elder Wand before Dumbledore has a shot at it. He in turn dies a month later when his plane is shot down by a Spitfire, making the British pilot the wand's master. A couple of years later, he is shot down in a dogfight over France by a German who, unbeknownst to himself, actually is a wizard. This German survives the war, and feeling that something is missing in his life, ends up finding Durmstrang and discovering his own abilities. The Elder Wand, having been found by British wizards, is now in a display case at the Ministry of Magic in London, but it is calling to its master much like the One Ring called to Sauron. The German pilot-turned-wizard now has to escape Soviet-occupied East Germany (he is for some reason unable to apparate), cross the Channel on a battered second-hand broom, and sneak into the ministry to find his wand. Hijinks ensue.
