hard question, why didnt the kids get out of the pool BEFORE the firefighters got there? like a scoreboard fell lets all just keep swimming

      Idk if its true but
I think because either he just wanted to keep swimming and he didn't know what would happen if the electricity hit the water or he was scared to go to people he didn't recognise because he looks about 6-7

Lifeguard unconscious, group of kids panicking and are probably always instructed on when/how to get out etc

Children are proven to go off what adults do if adults are scared of something the children are more likely to be scared. The lifeguard couldn't help so no one was there to lead the children

@becky2235 Sky Witness has the older episodes, but for the new season, I downloaded each episode on my xbox series x via the movies TV guide, paid £7.49 for lifetime of no adverts. You used to get live american tv channels like NBC on the xbox and watched them at 01:00 in the uk live, you may still get to stream NBC for free on a phone, laptop or pc with a vpn (some are completely free).

Water is not conductive, it is a insulator.
when adding chlorine the conductivity does increase but not enough to actually causes any harm from a distance greater then a few meters (depending on the voltage).
If you were right next to it then thats a slightly different story.

    • @formercobra2705
      @formercobra2705 Před 6 měsíci

Water is a liquid meaning that it does not have density pack molecules so it is not ideal for eletrical flow (definition of a insulator).
Water is not conductive, what makes water conductive is the contaminates inside of it (i. e salt, chlorine, dirt, sand and any other molecule that gets in it).
The more contaminated the water is the more conductive it is but even the from any decent distances away being anywhere from 30cm to a few meters (or more depending on tne amout of volage) you would be fine.
If you want proof then do this simply test.
Get a tub of water and an eletrical test kit,
set the kit to resistance, zero the leads and the put both ends in the water about 30cm away from each other.
The resistance on the test kit should read over 10,000 mega oms.
And thing over 10,000 mega oms of resistance is safe. It is the same as holding the two ends apart in the air.
Before saying that someone is wrong next time at least do some research before and present evidence instead of just insuling them.
I will admit that my original wording is a bit off but still.

@@formercobra2705 I deleted my previous comment about water being a conductor because I did some more extensive research on the subject online and spoke to one of my Facebook friends about it he is a first responder a firefighter and EMT (EMT is the United States term for an ambulance officer or paramedic) and he confirmed what you said that pure water is an insulator and not a conductor so it turns out that you were right about that pure water is indeed an insulator, so I definitely owe you an apology for that. As for that in the context of this video there's an electrical sign that reads "480 VOLTS" clearly visible when the firefighters in this video shut down the power to the electrical scoreboard in this video, so it seems reasonable to assume that the scoreboard in this video runs on 480 volts of electricity, since you said it depends on the voltage I'm not sure if the 480 volts of electricity that the scoreboard runs on in this video is a high enough voltage to be dangerous more than a few meters away.

@@craigpater6278 dont worry about it but thanks I really appreciate it!
No one every really believes it when they first hear since it is the complete opposite of what you are brought up to know.
I have no idea about the exact distance but if I had to guess in a chorine mixed swimming pool... any distance over 3-4 minutes should be good?
      Dont quote me on that.

That accident what happened to the lifeguards are terrible. I hope they get better soon. And some kids are very responsible to get out the swimming pool what exactly happen is going on. But one kid was still swimming stella said to the boy please get out the pool. Alexander mom was pretending to be a scam to the firefighters. Why the parents did not pick his son in the swimming pool instead after few hours.

I dont think that can happen can it ? it would take massive incompetence on the wiring and safety of the installation. IRL circuit breaker will trip at the most minimal disturbance.

Scoreboards run on low current. Not stronger than anything else you can plug into the wall. The cable wouldn't be hopping around like that and the people couldn't get electrocuted from that far away. The fuse would have been blown almost immediately. Absolutely ridiculous. It's a dumb show.
