Just one thing. 16th August is still celebrated as independence day in puducherry. Because it was in this day that officially puducherry was transferred as Territory of india. 2nd November is the day on which agreement was signed on 1st November 1954, and based on it plebiscite was held. From 1956 to 1962 pondicherry was administered by ministry of external affairs on behalf of French government through commissionerate. From 1963 brought under ministry of home affairs through 14th constitutional amendment act and ut act 1963.
