I have the Dan Marino Rookie card. I bought it for $60 as a kid in the early 90's. It has never been removed from it's case. Looking at it today, it looks flawless.
I knew this would be a solid list when #25 went for $301!! That is not cheap!! I recently bought a massive collection of cards from a guy in Columbus (8 full albums, 6 sets and a giant box full of top loaders) and have been watching these videos then going through the cards. I have found quite a few of them, but maybe 1 or 2 total could POSSIBLY be gem mint. Still super fun though. Love these vids man.

It's still fun to go through the old stuff and be "on the hunt" for potential PSA 10's though. I'm becoming more and more a fan of PSA 9's lately. Especially the 1986 Topps Montana and Payton's.
Hey, Matt. I can't believe most of those cards were able to go gem, because anything with color on the boarders, as you know, show any little flaw. Even coming out of packs. Another good one, there buddy. Have a good one!
As for the Jerry Rice rookie cards or any of the 30 cards on this list , I am not accusing but Id bet that PSA is corrupt in their grading system to keep the number of cards down for higher prices for Family members collecting cards, close friends of theirs, known prominent investors, Card shop owners, ETC. The regular everyday collector does not have a chance to get good grades on their cards; I have a lot of these cards and have had most graded but I had received only 7.5 to 9 on the scale and some these cards should have received a 10.
I've sent three Jerry Rice Topps rookies to PSA and they came back, in this order. First: 8 Second 8 Third 7 There is no doubt the first card I sent in is extremely close to gem mint and I believe it truly is. The 2nd card I sent in that got an eight, clearly, should have been lower than the first one i sent in thar graded out at 8. So it doesn't surprise me how few gems of Rice there are.
Damn, so many nice cards!!! I thought Steve Young 86 Topps would be #1. Surprised Reggie White 86 Topps didn’t make it. My favorite is the Bruce Smith 86 Topps.... so sick!! Thanks for the awesome video, excellent work!
Surprised only one 89 Score RC made the list. I would at least think Troy Aikman, Derrick Thomas, or even a Deion Sanders would make the cut. 84 & 89 were the two best years for RCs out of the 1980s.
Great options but their score cards don't fetch quite as much the '89 Score Aikman in gem mint 10 is around $115 roughly while the Derrick Thomas gets around $40 on a good day. Still, a great set and awesome football cards to invest in!
i have most of these cards, those 85 topps black borders was a pain, 9 times out of 10 when you opened these the corners were dinged; that's the reason why most of those perfect cards are worth so much
Used to have a never opened 1980'S GREEN TOPS WAXED BOX, that I was going to open after I retired, but it mysteriously disappeared when I had movers help me get to FL. They claimed no one ever saw it, and even accused me if faking the claim! No telling what all was in that box!
I have the Barry Sanders rc upgraded in a screw down holder...has been in it for 30 yrs since I got it in a pack back in '90 when I was 10...it's perfectly mint...
I love these videos. However a lot of people don't know how to interpret information. This video is in no way misleading, but it could mislead some people. Sorry if that doesn't make any sense, but I'm not criticizing you. I'm just saying that alot of people think they are going to sell thier cards for the price in this video. I would love to see a video like this where you use AVERAGE prices compared to the highest sale. The highest price list is AMAZING. It's perfect for low print run or low pop cards. But when we're talking about the more common (even junk wax), I think average prices would really provide useful data. You're one of the more well respected YT card guys. So I think if you had some lists like this, but with average prices (past year, past month), people would quote them like the Bible. Guys would be going around the card show with screen shots from your videos asking, "do you have this card fs?", along with, "this is my price".

Wow, fast forward to 2021, and who would've thought these cards would sky rocket to $100,000 plus. Last month, Rice sold for $115,000 on Goldin Auction and Montana for $87,000.

Man, I started with 1984 Topps football. I turned 6 that year, they just appeared in my top drawer somehow...... and I (ahem) cut off all the white borders of the cards. And I happened to have two of them with the last names Marino and Elway on them :( so I ruined any chances of those cards catching fire in the future almost immediately...... I think I also had Dickerson's rookie and Moon's '85 Topps. I do own the '82 Munoz AND Lott rookies .

Yep! I started using Adobe Audition to record instead of OBS lol, I also updated the favorite I run to enhance it. Thanks for noticing! Getting the audio down to an acceptable level was a huge headache but I am happy with it now. 👍 good ears you have 👂
PSA COLLECTOR I’m a videographer and notice you’re production values. Most card channels aren’t so good in that area. MAkes a difference. Like showing up for job interview in suit versus jeans.

Are you aware that pwcc,probstien,bigboy and most every card on this list have been shilled,trimmed,or some kind of shady stuff behide them? Most serious collectors dont count anything these people sell cards for. Try and sell one of these cards, you will be lucky to get a 3rd of these listed price. Now the Rice/Montana are always going to be the cream of the crop. You might get close or a little above half of these price tags. I like watching your vids and you are doing a good job. But, dont take these prices serious!!
I understand your position on the whole PWCC scandal but to say all those cards were altered or have some kind of shady stuff behind them made me laugh. How in the world could you possibly know that? Do you work for PWCC or have you bought cards from them, cracked the case and proven them to be trimmed? I just don't think that's possible. You come across as a conspiracy theorist with those accusations. I appreciate the compliment and you watching my videos but I'll have to strongly disagree with you on the whole card trimming conspiracy. I have seen the Tom Brady cards that were slabbed by BGS and found to be trimmed but that's about it. I highly doubt anyone is out there trimming football cards from the 80's 😂😂

The manufacturing of those cards in the 80s was pure garbage I've pulled numerous star player cards but they are always way off center and the corners always rounded it's like the whole decade they didn't know how to print things anymore

Thanks, Rod! I agree, pack fresh cards are not immune to low grades which is a big misconception. Which makes the PSA 10 even more valuable!

PSA COLLECTOR graphics are good also. What are you using to create?

The difference between a 9 and a 10 is mind bending. 10’s are so rare and hard to come by. But 9’s can still have a decent amount of value
