Not quite ready to invest in the kit to get it done. But now I'm a lot more comfortable to get it done myself someday. Thanks!

I have a 2008 RAV4!! Same color too! I forgot how relatively easy it is to change the oil yourself! Thanks for sharing

Oil change cost about 70 tom80 dollars now for full synthetic. For filter and oil 0w-20 cost around $25.00. So you do oil change for $25.00 to $30.00 dollars.

It looked like you used a torque wrench to put on the drainplug which is good but I didn't notice any torque specs. I may have missed it since I had the volume turned down.
    Torque specs ...
    Oil pain drainplug = 40 N•m (30 ft.lbs.)
    Oil filter cap = 25 N•m (18 ft.lbs.)
    Oil filter cap drainbolt = 12.5 N•m (10 ft.lbs.)

Ok ,I am doing an oil change on my RAV4,the oil filter (alloy original oil filter from the factory) was on so tight,i broke 6 different styles of extraction tools even the one bought from Toyota, this is a terrible design and needed a three foot long extension bar and all the strength I could muster before it finally moved ,a whole three days of trying ,the filter has no gasket and the alloy became bonded to the case ,as I was unscrewing the filter the air was filled with dust ,so be prepared for the long haul,

I noticed you have a V6 like mine. How many quarts did it take and is that 5W-30 Full Synthetic oil the one required for these vehicles. Thanks.

Once you've taken the old filter out I would put the new o ring on 1st before putting the new filter in so you're not potentially wiping old oil on the new filter plus it gets caught on the new filter.

Don't understand why Toyota designed such a stupid oil filter.
