Worksop used to be brilliant in the 80's for non stop MGR workings and it had a really good open day at the depot together with Shirebrook depot in the mid 80's. I lived about 3 miles from Shirebrook towards Mansfield but for the open day I went via Chesterfield, Sheffield and Worksop because it was way before the Robin Hood line and to get a passenger train between Worksop and Shirebrook was very rare
Wow Stephen, this is incredible history about Worksop. The Robin Hood Line is a interesting line to say the least especially calling at stations where the Nottingham trams stop at as well. Gosh, very rare times by the sounds of it for passenger traffic between Shirebrook and Worksop. Worksop is still an interesting station with the old sidings and old remains of what looks like a station building as well I noticed.
Great video Ricky! I have to admit I think the EMR purple really suits the turbos
I agree Reece, they certainly do suit it very well. I rode on board 170418 ex ScotRail unit and they have a poster saying that their Turbostar fleet will go for a full interior refurbishment.
Thanks very much Reece :-)
Hi Ricky very good video I really enjoyed it.
Thanks very much Alex, happy to hear you have enjoyed it :-)
Nice video Ricky 🙂
Thank you Ethan :-)
Didn't think you got that much at Worksop
Ah well, but it is nice to film at those quieter stations for the small variety. Also, remains of disused sidings and an old station building there as well :-)
