- Took the Kiowa for a spin to align the grease-pencil gun marker.
This was my first time flying in fixed 2D view - I'm very much a VR guy - so please excuse the shaky lift off!

Definitely looking forward to this one being released into the DCS World wild to hunt and fend for itself.
I really like the sounds, the blades and how the wind changes with speed is super immersive.
the .50-caliber machine gun sounds a bit off but TBH never been inside a helo with guns blazing away either!
@@567davefair yeah I agree there. I feel like it should be a much more throaty sound. A .50 cal is no joke, and the Kiowa is a very small and light helicopter. I feel like it would rattle the airframe quite noticeably, and have a very mean sound.
It’d literally blast a chunk out the left side chin bubble out sometimes when we had the M3P .50cal mounted… just from firing😂
Cancer permanently disqualified me from flying Kiowas 15 years ago. I've been waiting that long to get back in the cockpit. Thank you!
F4 Phantom and the Kiowa are what im most hyped for this year, cant wait!

Not true... The next update will bring multi threading so yea, they're fixing the game engine but it takes Time sadly... They don't have as much money as Ubisoft

Man this is excellent, the sound design is great as the wind noise really increases, and the airframe and rotor buffeting sounds are really lovely. The way you have to 'boresight' your M3 by moving the grease pencil mark is a really nice touch! lol Thank you for sharing the video it's a really nice look at the Kiowa Warrior. I'm looking forward to seeing more of it in DCS.

It will, they aren't planning to do an early access release so the aircraft will be delivered feature complete.

Thanks! No word on missions yet, if I'm honest we'd rather focus on getting the aircraft out first.

I'm glad they are taking the time to make this quality. It's going to be worth the wait.
Stop being so naïve believing that a team of just a few people is able to somehow release a perfect product if you give it enough time - no matter how much testing the module went through, setting it free in the "real world" will always bring new problems to the surface. The simming community has all kinds of hardware, and there will almost definitely be an odd Kiowa pilot finding something they missed with their small team.
And if they are still unsure of their module, that looks more like they don't particularly know what they are doing in the first place, trying to randomly hit the sweet spot in the flight dynamics (and other things) that would satisfy their SMEs (or just a single SME). Been there, seen that.
Not to mention, the community's expectations are only growing with time...

I believe ED declined them when they asked to make the H-60. They literally have the H-60 mod developer on their team, and ED still said no.
So clearly someone else is doing it. ED probably wants to do it.

Looking good. Do we know if we will have any option to run it with a cleaner cockpit if we prefer it that way? ie without the M18's stacked in a row.
The smoke grenades are weapons, so yes you can choose not to take them. As for personal equipment - carbines, water bottle etc., that's in discussion.

Will there be any option to clean up the Dash? If flying alLiaison flight in West Germany in 1990 I'm not sure everything on top of the dash would be an accurate depiction (especially the gunsight).

I suppose you guys too late with Kiowa. It should be released before Apache while we have no any other "blue" attack helicopter. Now i literally have no idea how to use it. If i going for tank hunting, i'll take Ah-64 with his 8 or 16 atgm. If i need something more agile, so i'll take Gazelle. Sorry guys it's too late.
I've given up on this module. Even if it does release, I won't get it, out of spite for it being teased so long and the absolute silence on any progress.

Significance is that I thought folks would like to see some video of the flight model and basic behaviours. SInce understandably there is a lot of questions and concern about it.

Una información que nunca llega a pesar del paso !de los años!
En cuanto al modelo de vuelo, lo primero que he comentado en mi comunidad es que parece que el piloto lleva el helicóptero a donde quiere llevarlo, algo relevante si lo comparamos con el desastre del Apache que es ingobernable.
No deseo otra cosa para DCS que la aparición del este módulo. Pero es que su publicación se alarga y se alarga y se alarga sin ningún tipo de información. Espero que comprendas la desesperación de los clientes.
@@CJ.Beltza I am one of the developers at Polychop. I understand your frustration, but as I've said before, the average development time for a DCS module is 4 years. Please put that into your perspective. And the reason you don't have concrete information is because we are unwilling to say anything about release until we are absolutely certain. Releasing a module is a complicated process, but we have now taken the first steps. As soon as we are ready to say more, we will do so. As soon as we can put out an official statement with facts, we will do so.

you posted a link to a different .50, which is called M296. It has a slower fire rate than M3P which is being modeled in dcs

I think a big thing that changes audio up for guns via microphones is often A) not really good mics and B) how much other audio is going on in the background. In a video with a M3P strapped to a little bird almost all the bass is cut out due to the helo running. Meanwhile a video of a stationary M3P on a tripod has a lot more bass to it and sounds like a faster firing M2

It’s looking great, unfortunately we are starting a movement to not purchase from DCS until they fix the broken engine. Hopefully they fix it otherwise MSFS might be a better place for you.

Indeed this footage seems not having fixed flight physics, sadly. Regardless of that, gazelle should be updated first.
But MSFS and DCS may not substitute each other sooner or later.
🤪Any plan to release it finally? This MONTH, YEAR? Unfortunately, this model is a very bad example. It's been "kicking" around for years (2019), basically. Supposedly done, but no information about progress, release. No update and what are you waiting for. 🥵
You do know the average development time of a DCS module is about four years or so? Just saying, it's not uncommon. If it was 'done' it would have been released. So how about you trust our judgement on when it's ready for release. It's not like we're going to hold it back, we want to finish it as much as you want it.

One of the members of the team had health issues, and that delayed the project. Also, the average time from announcement to release is about five years for a DCS project. That not counting delays caused by ED changing core issues in game and other software parameters. With time you learn not to get into the hype and being very patient regarding modules teases and announcements.
