How to fit a performance air filter in a VW Transporter T5, T5.1, T6, T6.1, Transporter HQ and ITG

We'll try and film lots of easy to follow instructional videos to help you with your T5-T6.1 self build and maintenance.
In this video, Mitch show's you the process of replacing the standard VW Transporter panel air filters, with a performance filter we've developed with ITG. Anyone that doesn't know ITG, they are the global industry leaders in this area.

I love the reluctance to not air up because it makes it easy to reach the filter and more clearance from hitting your head on the bonnet😂. Tbf when I finally fit my kit I wouldn’t raise it up to make it easier because why would you. Once it’s down it stays down 👌🏻. I fitted the k&n filter, not sure if it made a difference but it’s a mod 👌🏻😃
I even air out at the fuel station. It's a right pig bending down the fill up. Give me a sore back every time 🫤

Best thing you can do to any diesel.... Told bay an old timer farmer, diesels love air! So i fitted a K&N drop in panel filter to a few vehicles in the past... Made a decent difference. less gear changes, and an increase in MPG...

@@Iain1107 I didn't notice any difference. Maybe because the filter is still in the air box...?
Do you have any info on how to clean them? or do the instructions come with the filter?
Can you do a video on changing bumper grills (upper and lower grills) and grill trims on a t6.1 ?

Have you had any issues with the oil from the filter contaminating the MAF as I have heard this can be an issue. I’ve never used one of these type of filters so have no direct experience.
No none at all. ITG are the best at what they do. That issue wouldn't occur with these.
I had a similar cotton filter in a 2.0dti Audi same engine as my current T5 . I did notice a slightly I mean only slightly better performance throttle response. It payed for is self as because only buy once . Wonder if worse bothering putting it in a high mileage T5 . Unfortunately not the same size otherwise would of swooped it out .
Yeah they aren't going to add 20bhp or anything, there is defo a gain though. And like you say, there is a cost saving in not having to replace them.
@@THQAutomotive true , I have them in both my motorcycles . Because unlike in the car world , not always a big difference in cost between paper and cotton filters.also you have to replace the air filter a lot soon for a m/bike so no brainer . plus the engine induction ,sounds better even in a Diesel engine..
What's the performance gain ? and does the Transporter sound different...

Thats somthing i have learned , he said t6 Euro 5 ,i thought all t6 are Euro 6.also I have tried to purchase some roof bars from you, and to my surprise you don't sell them, is there any particular reason why you don't sell them
No the early T6 was Euro 5. Easiest way to tell is if there is an adblue fill point inside the fuel flap.
On a side note.......what are those headlights i can see on the red T6 ? Spill the beans lol
