    Thanks for the update, Mike! Happy to see the coatings still performing fairly well for you. I believe this video is a further testament to the fact that cars stored outside in the elements no matter what coating system is applied will need solid routine maintenance and annual topping to see peak performance long term!

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Thanks Bradley. You could not have said it better. Maintenance is key for a coating to continue to perform. 95% of the coating is still performing strong and a top up will extend the life. One thing I forgot to mention in this video is being in Southern California a coatings degradation is different where I see a coating starting to fail on the horizontal surfaces rather than lowers since there is no snow, salt and whatever else. It is the UV on the upper surfaces that impacts the coating. Especially on those high UV days. This coating could easily go another 1.5 years easily with continued maintenance.

      @@MikeGDetailing We see the same here being in Florida. Failure is always on the top surfaces first.

    Great update Mike. ADS Pro looks like a legit coating. It's a top contender to replace Mohs next year.

    • @MikeGDetailing

      It’s been a very good coating. Holding up very well on a car that sits outside 24/7. If you don’t get approved for the pro the regular quartz is just as good.

    Great video Mike! I just applied the ADS PRO Quartz coating to my car this past weekend and am excited to see how it performs. Especially where I am in the Arizona heat. Fortunately my car is in the garage when at home but definitely will contend with high heat and UV, especially during the summer months. I think I'll use Amplify as a drying aid (at least when not doing a rinseless wash) and then top it with Ceramic Spray Sealant once every 3-4 months or so. I put CSS on a friend's car as a topper a month or so ago and it's very easy to apply. You were one of the first people to introduce me to Armour Detail Supply and they have definitely been my go to brand. I think I have all of their products now and they're fantastic. Appreciate your videos Mike.

      Thanks. It’s a a great option for a coating. It will definitely perform very good. Being in the garage will help and definitely maintain it in that time frame and you will be good. Enjoy the coating.

    Great video Mike! That spray sealant is definitely some stout stuff. I applied it the other day to my car and wasn’t really watching what I was doing and noticed a streak I left. Took a few rounds of hand polishing to finally get it out, and it was only there for about 15 minutes.

    Just FYI, the CARPRO system used is not a 3ph system. The Descale is 6, the lift is 10-11, and the reset is neutral/7. They claim Descale is an acid wash, but it's barely acidic on the scale, vs going with a 2 or 3 as some other companies started coming out with.

    Mike, I definitely think you should try Bilt Hamber touch-less snow foam and their glass cleaner too called Trace-Less, it's available on the OG website I believe. I think you would definitely rate these to try, I'd love to know what you think. I think a 3ph system with Touch-less, Carpro Descale and Reset would be the best case. Touch-less doesn't have any nasty chemicals or caustic ingredients. It's Sugar based and the cleaning power is insane. The PIR (panel impact ratio) is pretty simple to work out but it makes it bespoke to your personal wash set up allowing you to use the correct amount of chemicals without using too much. 👍

      @Ecdetails My go too are Touch-less, Trace-Less and Touch-on for me Touch-on works best out of a snowfoamer, quick sponge over because you've already used Carpro reset (I don't rate Bilt Hamber shampoo as it's thin, not much lubricity and doesn't clean as well as Reset, come on Bilt Hamber- you need to work on thar product. Touch-on is in my opinion underrated, as a shampoo sealant it's light and super easy to snowfoam on, sponge over real quickly and rinse leave a nice warm glow like its been coated 💥

      @MikeGDetailing it's a shame, it's a fantastic product, I know you keep your cars ultra clean, so it might not be of any use. But it's super strong and cuts through anything without any horrible or harsh chemicals. Bilt Hambers Surfex HD is another very good APC and will leave Green star in the corner crying. I do hope you try some at some point Mike. I know what product standards and levels you like, this is something you would like- can someone in the US send Mike some Bilt Hamber products please to test 🤞🙌

      Staying outside 24/7 and UV does degrade a coating. Especially on high UV days in the summer here in Southern California.

      I agree, seen better ones, also i don't like topping a coating it has no sense in my opinion (plus it's getting expensive apart from buying all the prep chem, the coating itself and now the topers...) why top something when you want the original coatings performance and not the topper performance, following the same logic you can ,,top" indefinetly and see the ,,performance" but still it wont be the coating - it will be the toppers.I can see the appeal (the lost gloss is returning, the slickness after using a toper) but still i would rather polish it out and apply a coating that is fresh and better performing, maybe the most stout protection (5,6,7,8 yr coatings) aren't the ones for me. But it's only my opinion (actually mine and a bunch of other detailers in the industry here in the EU) still, nice of you Mike for doing these tests

    That rear bumper area is usually plastic and many companies put PPF on there for wear resistance. Perhaps thats why the coating didnt last very long? Most PPF coatings say you only get abput a year or two.

    Those trigger sprayers sound crisp and a nice amount of product mists nicely when you were using it. 👌. The shine is fantastic too. You could probably polish off just the flatter areas and reapply. Those horizontal panels still look like you've just applied it. Amplify seems like a nice product to use. The gloss looks solid. How was the slickness from the buff? What are they using for their fragrance too? I like a product that gets all of your senses going, it just gives you the bug to detail.

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing  Před 2 měsíci +1

      ADS chose some good triggers. I’ve had a couple not be good but for the most part they are good. A nice adjustable tip for good atomization. Amplify is a great product. Super easy to work with and smells very good. The ceramic spray sealant is another good one and version 2 is noticeably slicker while still being easy to use.

      Mike G!! For the culture will you try some DIY water spot remover on the rear? My go to was the same carpro 3ph system used just how you did. I have found descale isnt ad effective as obviously we all hope it would be. Iv had vehicles look worse after using it, making me think okay well the protection is gone, the system removed all the towers etc and that's that. Then I use DIY WSR just because and boom, life again. You're a G. Just wondering how that combo would work in your case, especially you knowing it had over spray.

    Great video. I have 2 questions.
    1- I thought the only way to remove a coating was by abrasion so I’m curious why that back bumper would be flat at a year?
    2- What is your process to remove a coating or maybe you have a video on that. Thanks

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Thanks.
      1. High UV will degrade a coating as well. I had made another comment here where I mentioned in my part of Southern California, coatings fail on the flat surfaces (hood, roof, trunk) and not on the sides as there is no snow or harsh chemicals used on the roads. There are times throughout the year where the UV is high and that along with sitting outside 24/7 will impact a coating.
      2. Any type of polishing will remove a coating. The abrasives in the pad in conjunction with the mechanical cutting ability of the pad is more than enough.
