Fun Fact: Those dragon nobodies are actually based on dragoons from Final Fantasy.
They’re also using lances much like the dragoons
And when you use the learn reaction command, Sora can use jump as a reaction command which is the dragoon’s trademark ability in almost every Final Fantasy game!
Oh gosh, Xaldin. I did not have any problem with the bosses until I had to fight him.
Also, Riku’s hair is silvery white, but the lightning has a habit of making it look light purple.
I agree, I had no issues with Demyx and other bosses but Xaldin was a pain for me

Xaldin is the only fight I died on in my first playthrough (mickey showed up, but I still count that as losing the fight/dying). I still hate the demyx battle more though.

Erika, Dodge Roll is learned in Final Mix from Limit Form after leveling it up twice by using Limit Form "Limit FINISHERS" enough without needing to even hit any enemies (So you can just spam Limit Form Limit Finishers in battle to level up Limit Form and then use the Save Point to return to the world map before Drive Gauge reverts glitch trick to re-enter the world with full Drive Gauge until level up ;)
In my opinion, Xaldin was one of the hardest boss fights in Kingdom Hearts 2.
On Proud Mode, it's trial and error.
Actually Erika there are some Disney Princesses who are young adults. Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog was 19 years old. Pocahontas was 18 in her movie, Rapunzel was 18 in Tangled, and Raya was 18 in her movie, Raya and the Last Dragon.
Omg, the talk about age and pursuing dreams made me tear up. I'm currently 35, and because of disabilities and such I've had problems trying to finally get to where I want to be now, which is going for a masters in creative writing and publishing living in the UK (im from the US too). I even have a friend who works in the field who wants me to finish my book so they can possibly publish it! Growing up I felt like a failure since everyone in my family had it figured out at a young age and my younger cousin only just got married. Though my slightly older cousin just got married too, so it makes me feel a bit better.❤❤❤
Loving this play through, and love that Erika loves wisdom form. Remember to use lots of actual magic and not just the regular shot attack in that form because you will DESTROY EVERYTHING!
I hope they soon learn each drive form levels up differently. They won't be getting all those "stickers" without the forms' abilities.
"Why do all princesses have to be 16?" Because back when all those stories were written, it was a miracle to live past 35.

As if Xaldin was not hard enough here is a bit of weird Kingdom Hearts 2 trivia. I know from people who have experienced it, (two in fact,) that if you were playing the original version of KH 2 on PS2, with a European (PAL) Disc on normal difficulty, Xaldin would make your game crash 100% of the time unless you did some weird work around. You see, Xaldin is one of the fights where Mickey can show up if you die. You must make this happen before hitting the half way point of Xaldin's HP to avoid the Great European Crash. If not you will be trapped there for all eternity.

I’m sure I’m not the first to say this, you gotta level up Limit Form to get Dodge Roll much like how you level up Valor for High Jump. You need a major grind session.

Xaldin is definitely one of the hardest and most difficult bosses in this game! I struggled a lot against him the first time!!
I'm really excited to see the forms leveling episode to see Sora get to his strongest state, and exploring the cavern in Hollow bastion
You can get Dodge roll by leveling up limit form.
You can do that by using the limit commands. Easiest way to do this is in the treasure room at agrabah
The Xaldin boss fight is proof that the Reaction Commands are legit lifesavers.

Erika you’ll have to hit the last hit of your limit form “magics” to level it up. And then when you do level it up you’ll get Dodge Roll.😇👍
Here's a tip for the next episode, equip the rumble rose because its strong, also sora has already learned a new move call "explosion" its very effective and i highly recomended, goofy also learned a new move call "teamwork", it's a limit attack he can do with Sora and it's very powerful, i hope this tip can help you if you read this, peace out.
I'm kinda glad that a lot of people here agree that Xaldin's a really tough boss fight even in normal mode; my brother and I died more than a couple times fighting this jerk lol (while getting Mickey to save our butts)
And I do have to agree, Belle & Beast are so good bc Beast had his own issues and inner demons to take care of instead of being the typical "perfect" prince charming and Belle was there to help him with that!
Also, Xaldin's based on the Final Fantasy Class, Dragoon. The most famous example being Kain Highwind from Final Fantasy 4. Another fact, Xaldin's fight's the last one where Mickey steps in to help Sora.

This boss fight is definitely a skill check. Donald is better in kh2 if you adjust his AI and abilities but i dont think any partner helps with this fight
Just fyi, the reason a lot of Disney princesses are so young is because back when the original stories were written the average age people would live to was maybe 30 or 40...
Xaldin is easy if you press triangle when the reaction prompts appear because then you can use his own weapons against him! :D
Too bad Mickey can't appear to save you from Final Mix's mandatory new added boss though hehehe... XD

You know you can switch party members DURING battle right? Also, part of your problem with the Xaldin fight is that you do not already have the "double jump" that you can get from Master form, which you definitely should have had by now, as it is by far the single most useful drive form ability in the game.
There is also the ironic fact that you, in fact, did not "learn" at any point of the fight, in every imaginable sense of the word lol.
Eh, the whole "there's a time limit on your dreams" thing is less about what society has told me and more that I keep trying and nothing works.
Nice work completing Beast's castle! However you two should really go to Olympus Coliseum next.
Also, sorry Erika and Sarah even though I do like Belle x Beast, but I personally love Tiana x Naveen and Aladdin x Jasmine the most. :D

oh yeah Xaldin. one of the most annoying fights mostly as you really need to get guarding down (to collect the Jump reactions)
Based on Xaldin’s sword ⚔️ attacks, it’s like the Sword Dance physical skill from Persona 5.
it's so rare that people know to press X and triangle during the team attacks that nobody knows what it looks like. *I've* certainly never done it
It is by far one of the most irritating things about watching other people play. I noticed it literally the first time I ever used a limit in the game. It's extremely obvious and I can't stand that so many people don't notice. I legitimately cannot fathom how people miss it.
Xaldin is the single most annoying boss in Kingdom hearts 2 on critical mode.
